Netanyahu’s Associates: If Danon Doesn’t Quit, He’ll be Fired

“You don’t threaten the prime minister,” say sources close to Netanyahu after Danon threatens to resign over terrorist release.

DanonThe comments came after Danon,  who met with bereaved mothers earlier Wednesday, said he would resign unless the fourth tranche of the release of terrorist murderers is cancelled.

“In the last few weeks,” said Danon, “the mask has been removed from the face of Abu Mazen [Mahmoud Abbas], and it Is clear that nothing will come of the negotiations. I will not sit in a government that releases terrorists in exchange for Tzipi Livni’s fantasies,” he declared. “There is a limit to how much we can pay like suckers, in return for the smiles of Livni and Erekat.”

Despite my opposition in the past,” Danon explained, “we released terrorists in exchange for sitting around the negotiating table, in the hope that this would lead to Palestinian concessions. But the Palestinians have us wrapped around their little finger and are proud of it. They take advantage of our sincere desire for peace, while uttering threats of boycotts, in order to release terrorists from jail. I will stop assisting this.”

Responding to Danon’s threats, sources close to Netanyahu told Channel 2 News that “enough was enough”.

“We’re tired of his cheap politics,” they said, adding, “You do not threaten the prime minister. Danon is threatening to resign because he has already received information about the letter of dismissal that the prime minister is preparing for him.”

Danon’s associates, unfazed by Netanyahu’s threats, said in response, “This is not the first time that we have been threatened with dismissal over the past year.”

  1. Jewish Home Leaving Coalition Over Terrorist Releases?
MK allegedly tells women’s organization that fourth batch of terror releases a ‘red line’ for Jewish Home.

Knesset Speaker Shuli Moallem (Jewish Home) stated this week that Jewish Home will threaten to leave the coalition if the fourth batch of Arab terrorists are released, according to Ma’ariv.

Hopefully the vote will be against releasing the terrorists. So far straw poll has it that they will be not released provided Abbas does not agree to extend talks. Even Livini would vote against releasing more terrorists.

  2. @ Joseph Rapaport:

Moshe Feiglin […] Naphtali Bennett […]
These men are representative of the majority of Israel’s Nationalist electorate.

    I think so.

They need to be elevated to the top power spots.

    No question about it.

    BUT

    .

Danon is a natural ally of Moshe Feiglin and I think Naphtali Bennett also.

is this really so, or, as shy has pointed out above “he is a young bibi”… (Read: ‘opportunistic specimen’)? …. 🙁

  3. Danny Danon is breath of fresh air. He has the courage of his convictions and is not afraid to stand up to the Right Wing
establishment. It is high time to change the paradigm with respect to the Pali negotiations. It is is time for the GOI to
declare “Zo Artzeinu” and to take the appropriate steps, i.e. annexation of Judea and Samaria and exerting Israeli sovereignty
on the Temple Mount. Danon is a natural ally of Moshe Feiglin and I think Naphtali Bennett also. These men are representative
of the majority of Israel’s Nationalist electorate. They need to be elevated to the top power spots. Yashar koach to Danny
    for taking his non-pc stance.

  4. Personally, I agree with Danon. Abbas has made it resoundingly clear at this point that none of Israel’s requirements will be agreed to by the Palestinians. It is time to lock the door on the rest of the imprisoned terrorists, and if Netanyanhu acquiesces to release Barghouti I will no longer see any reason to support Israel.

  5. Danon is ambitious and says the things the right loves. Question is he electable at the head of the ticket. He surely is on a head on war trying to unseat Bibi as the top Likudnick.

  6. Good for Mr. Danon. His eyes are open and he can see what Livni, Abbas, Peres, Kerry and Obama are doing to Israel. Something to which Netanyahu appears to be oblivious.

He has courage and determination and the wisdom to see that a drastic change of course is essential.

I thought Liberman might be the one to act but he seems lately to have committed a volte-face.

Stick to your guns, Mr. Danon. You may very well be the person to pull Israel out of the quagmire into which it is being sucked.

  7. Assaulting other Jews is the only thing that element is capable of doing. In this case Danon will be far better off not being part of the Netanyahu cesspool.
Netanyahu is a natural ally of the Peresites, livni, Lapid, Hertzog, Galon and his Islamic partners.
