Dore Gold explains in The Berlin Wall of Mideast oil comes down explains that over the next 10 years, the Arabs will gradually lose their oil weapon.
Strangely, when making the argument, he doesn’t factor in Israel’s huge off shore gas reserves which are expected to be onlne next year and her huge oil shale deposits which are expected to be producing oil within the said 10 year period.
Even so, he writes:
-
Israel needs to reach peace treaties with its neighbors. But the terms of any agreement should not be influenced by Western dependence on Middle Eastern oil, which undoubtedly prompted the international diplomatic pressures on Israel in the past. There is no reason why Israel should feel compelled to race back to the 1967 lines, but rather should protect its legal right to defensible borders, without the sword of Middle East oil hanging over its head.
Notice that he only references Israel’s right to defensible borders. Like the GOI, he never mentions our legal rights to J&S. In part, They do not want to allege rights that might be questionable and in part they have no intention of keeping the land.
Those who advocate our legal rights include, first and foremost Howard Grief, and Eli Hertz and Salomon Benzimra.
I always assert our legal rights not because I believe our case is unassailable but because I want to claim J&S as ours under colour of right. The matter will never be adjudicated upon, so there is no harm in asserting such rights. By doing so I provide a justification for our extending sovereignty over such lands. Other justifications include, we need it for defence, we have the historical right to it, we won it in a defensive war, it is needed to establish peace and finally, because we want it.
The GOI has no intention of keeping the land beyond keeping the settlements blocks for which it will give Israeli land in exchange. That is why Gold and the GOI never assert our legal rights even if they believe we might have such rights.
That is why Netanyahu keeps begging for negotiations. No, he is not just going through the motions. That is why Israel allows the Arabs to take over “Area C” by hook or by crook. He sees no alternative to cutting a deal. I recently noted that the EU is putting “Area C” in play.
Not everyone agrees. There is a strong movement on the right to extend our sovereignty to J&S. But it must be stronger if it is to succeed.
We the converted can make all sorts of plans as to how to deal with the Arabs in J&S. But all this a’int gonna resolve the problem until the Government of Israel refuses to take it upon itself to STOP ignoring our legal rights.
AND most importantly to incorporate the subject into the educational system at high school level, in order to educate students prior to entering university, and become aware of our legal rights to the land os Israel.
Students for the most part enter university unaware of these rights, and end up joining the chorus of deniers.
Now that Bibi is ‘King’, nothing stands in the way to change the paradigm!

But Jordan is Palestine and has always been. How could it be otherwise? It comprises some 80% of the British Mandate lands and contains a population, some 80% of which are Arabs who identify as “Palestinian”. Add to this Gazastan and we already have a 3 state solution. A “solution” already in place. All we have to do is send the hostile Arabs home across the river.
I agree that the tactic of pursuing legal rights is of import. It should be pursued in international court against the israeli govt for preventing the settlement of Jews in Y&S as guaranteed by san remo, league of nations mandate and the successor obligatory in the UN charter. There is also the question of how those who financed terror, since the geneva conventions, against the jews will repay: Saudi arabia, etc. Land, oil and money may also be seized to pay for terror against the jews. The entire world has always used untried and questionable legal arguments when advancing their interests by force. Should the Jews be asked to behave differently?

Isnt the state of Israel an improbable pipe dream?
Mike Lumish Said:
What about the Jews ethnically cleansed from arab lands? what about the “palestinians” now in arab lands? The entire middle east surrounding Israel is basically JEW FREE and arab with the separating national borders of those sttes having been created by europe in war. Isnt that enough for them?
CuriousAmerican Said:
what was offered to the Jews expelled from the arab/muslim nations? Laws and principles cannot apply to one side of a conflict arbitrarily if they are to carry weight. All offers and inducements should be made by the europeans and the arab and muslim nations. I suggest that the europeans, arabs and muslims open their own lands to them as they have ethnically cleansed most jews from their lands and are the creators of the problem
I have never heard the muslims who occupy the entire middle east plus most of the palestine mandate territory(gaza, jordan, west bank) commiserate about what to do with the Jews they intend to drive out of Israel. they dont care and slaughter is their usual solution. Observe the areas they all now occupy. all of the former mandate under arab administration is JEW FREE and there are very few Jews left in the other arab muslim nations. Isn’t this also the same in Israel? Jews should be discussing how to compensate and give the ehtnically cleansed jews homes, not the arabs. Oh wait, isn’t that most of Israels Jews? There is no need to discuss what will happpen to the arabs as it should be assumed to be the same as the world keeps apportioning to the jews.
Excellent! Many would probably not accept it. The key is that it HAS TO BE OFFFERED.
Very similar to what I suggested; only I think it would have to be South America, since the Arab states seem intent on NOT naturalizing them.
Another real solution is to get European and Latin American Jews to leave for Israel to get that demographic security.
I do not see Jews leaving Canada or the USA anytime soon in large numbers.
But Europe could provide 1.5 million Jew and Latin Ameria about 1/2 million. Won’t get you up to the 12 Million desired but it would give a good start.
You and I agree on the major points, just not the details.
Even the $400,000 per Arab family is not too far off from my estimates. I assmed $100,000 per Arab individual.
The key here is that it ONLY has to be offered to J&S Arabs.
The Arabs in the camps outside Israel would then vent their wrath on the Arab nation, after Israel did its part.
All signs so far point to the fact that the present Israeli embedded leadership is unwilling to, in fact inimical to, the true Jewish triumph is Eretz Israel.
It is not up to us what will happen elsewhere. It is good that some well connected people promotes directions likely to help our interests but primarily we must attend to our priorities at home.
And that means clearing up the slate and promoting true Jewish leadership, not necessarily anyone presently posting that position but not excluding that either.
We must be very concerned about Iran and also about the lack of true backbone in government.
Just as much I expect the G.o.I to perform further disengagements.
@ leonard white:
Yes Israel has enough on its plate right now. She certainly isn’t going to ferment a revolution in Jordan to bring the King down.
But, Palestinians in Jordan are doing their own thing. I predict in a year and a half Abdullah will be gone and a new Government in place. Then everyone and Israel will take notice.
@ Ted Belman:
Israel as nation would prefer to be on closer terms with Europe (most important trading partner )rather than annexing the territories.Israel being an associate member of the EU has provided real economic benefits for the average Israeli. Now just follow the money- since Europe certainly does not wish to upset the Arabs by such an annexation.
I think we should ignore inprobable pipe dreams and pie in the sky suppositions- re PALESTINE IS JORDAN. It just will not happen. And the Israeli Gov’t is not even considering it as a credible avenue to pursue. They have enough on their plate with the present situation.
@ Mike Lumish:
CuriousAmerican Said:
As for the Arabs, there are a few possibilities. Worst case scenario is that we give them citizenship but it would be over a generation and subject to many conditions. Studies have shown that we would outnumber them 2:1 (Gaza excluded) upon annexation and for the foreseeable future.
We could give them financial inducements to leave. It has been estimated that if would cost us $100 billion to uproot 100,000 Jews from J&S and Obama is proposing plans that would involve more like 150,000 Jews. Now if we were to instead use that money to incentivise Arab emigration, each Arab family would get $400,000. Way more than necessary. There are many Arab countries that would invite the Palestinians in because of the money they would bring.
This is the primary reason I am working so hard on the Jordan is Palestine option. According to Mudar Zahran, a Palestinian led Jordan would invite all Palestinians to come to Jordan and receive full citizenship. He suggested that we give them the money instead so that they could incentivise immigration.
CuriousAmerican is correct.
I assume that you’ve probably written on this many times in the past, but if Israel annexes Judea and Samaria, what about the Arabs?
Would you give them full rights of citizenship, including the right to vote in national elections?
In any case,
Israel Thrives
http://israel-thrives.blogspot.com/
Rabin did that.
The problem here is not Israel’s right to J&S, but what to do with the Arabs inside J&S; otherwise Israel would have annexed J&S 45 years ago.
Sir,
I read the very positive article by Gold in Israel Hayom ( Israel Today ). Israelis are amazing people. Politically and financially, they are trapped. But without bringing Hashem into the conversation, there is no reason why ” Israel must have peace treaties ” with its surrounding nations.
A Catholic gentleman from Cairo told me: ” never never trust a muslim”. I have no muslim friends, muslim colleagues, nor seek them out for their business. You like America? good then go home and build your own America. Rush Limbaugh said this in 1994. For this he was called a racist.
When Israel is independent of Mexican and Norwegian oil ( part of the reason why Israel entered into the Oslo negotiations ), Israel can ” give the world the finger” as do the soddies every day.
Imagine if Jerusalem was only for Jews and that the Star of David was replaced with a sword? What would the world say?
Israel must be strong as we all must be in these times. Israel must claim all of the ” west bank” as its own territory; to the winner goes the booty. THIS IS THE LAW OF MEN before men began to measure time.
Israel is one miracle after another – 100% in agreement.
Best thing is to watch them like hawks and eagles. Watch Syria. The next king to fall is Adbdullah. Invade the Sinai and take it. A shame that this was not done last year during the street mayhem in Cairo.
Hi Ted,
It’s a generation since 1967, and it seems the least likely thing to happen, but I am 100% confident that Jews will live in security and without walls, bars or gates in Judah and Shomron. They will learn the Torah there. They will come to love the prophets. They will labour and plant vinyards there and yield fruit to the nation. I haven’t a clue how, but you are the evidence, the concrete evidence, of my confidence. It won’t be via politicians. It will be because the Rock and guardian of Israel does it.
It was written by the Hebrew Prophets, and the time fits that it is soon… Israel is one miracle after another, I believe in miracles.
The greatest evidence? I have read the paper now since 1988 and there is nothing such as this speaking so much against it! But it was written it was so!
Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:
Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about; Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame. (Ezekiel 36:3-7)
And so they shall! I don’t know how- but they will. Because they have loved violence and hatred they will inherit it anyway.. but more than that… I don’t know how bit I know I will see it.
Keep up preparing the world for Israel taking Judah and Shomrom. – its 100% certain. a Jewish Gilead, I think, is also possible.
