Netanyahu is toughening up

By Ted Belman

In David Barak’s article, Quartet ‘giving up hope’ he reports on Netanyahu’s toughened positions.

[..] Since then, the Prime Minister’s Office and Netanyahu in particular have changed their tone on the Palestinian issue, their remarks becoming markedly more militant.

Ever since the attack, Netanyahu has refrained from speaking publicly or privately about the need to advance the peace process or about his intention to make a major policy speech of the kind he delivered at Bar-Ilan University in 2009. On the other hand, he has begun to underline the issue of Palestinian incitement, as well as security concerns, as one that must be addressed in future negotiations.

Its about time. But he also took “extreme displeasure” with Barak’s tsunami.

Netanyahu also reacted with extreme displeasure to a speech delivered by Defense Minster Ehud Barak this week, in which Barak warned of a diplomatic “tsunami.”

Of great interest was the following,

Unlike prior rounds of negotiations, the Israeli delegation came better prepared this time and presented more flexible positions. Molcho told the envoys that Israel would soon take steps on the ground to demonstrate its commitment to concluding a final peace agreement with the Palestinians. Although he was asked about Netanyahu’s anticipated policy speech, Molcho did not provide details. He did, though, acknowledge the need for a diplomatic initiative, saying that recent events in the Middle East require progress in the peace process. He told the Quartet representatives that deadlock in the talks was not good for Israel and that Israel wished to take the initiative to address the situation.

I hope and believe that in this plan Israel will extend Israeli law to parts of Judea and Samaria and offer the rest to the Palestinian Arabs for their provisional state but deny them control of borders and airspace.

In that way Israel will be getting off the fence and giving the International community something to work with. It will then focus on our new borders trying to get us to relent rather than focusing on the armistice lines.

  1. Charles Martel is right-on about getting at least 2 million more olim. For a few years after I made aliyah, my observations while travelling around the country led me to conclude that we need at least 3 million more olim and the country can definitely handle it. Jerusalem has been turned into an amazingly beautiful city and parts like Kfar Ein Karem are stunning!! The blood, sweat and tears, particularly the tears, has brought joy and a very high quality of life for many. Nir BArkat has also come at the time when the city needs a brilliant manager.

  2. There’s only one man in Israel Bibi shows real anger at, and he’s the one who Bibi risked his election to keep out of office.

Bibi will say a few tough words, but he will always continue the “peace” process.

And beat up more Jews for good measure.

  3. Does Julia have anything more substantial to add to the discussion?

    Yamit:

BB is a classic sociopath! I have never heard BB raise his voice, or show real anger. He reminds me of Obama in this respect. He is always under disciplined self control and is such a pathological liar I tend to believe even his attempts to show sympathy or empathy with others is a sham and a lie. He is an actor on a stage and wants to keep the stage under his feet at all costs and in that effort all are expendable except BB himself.

Watch BB’s eyes in this clip when he was just out of MIT. Just watch his eyes. His words are not those of the then Israeli right but Mapai’s.(old Labor).

Boy does Bibi have a wonderful command of the English language; it’s absolutely flawless. He has such a nice, deep voice. I would enjoy hearing him use said voice to tell Obammy and Shillary to piss off but we all know Bibi is not the first Israeli leader to fail in putting up any resistance to being browbeaten by the USA or the international community, in general.

Bibi, like most Libras, has the ability to tip his scales left or right depending on the issue. Libras are also very deft at keeping our emotions in check when need be, something Yamit’s impassioned zee-lot self clearly knows nothing about(stated in jest and with affection cos’ I just loves me a Jewish zealot as they are the backbone of Israel).

An Important Message From Mark Levin Here

Yamit Mark is right on and I agree whole heartily.

In fact I was just listening to him. Shower time for me and I listen to him just about the same time every evening.

Time for Israel to tell Obama, Hillary and company to go take a hike.

    Start flexing muscles.

Time not to give land but rather reclaim the Holy Land G-d provided.

  5. Video: See here

When a Qassam is fired towards Ben Gurion Airport
Here is one of those inconvenient facts that the adherents of the “peace process” religion willfully ignore:

If Israel withdraws from most of the West Bank, then Israel’s entire economy is under threat from a single, cheap Qassam rocket aimed towards the airport.

  6. An Important Message From Mark Levin Here

Conservative pundit and radio talk show host, Mark Levin, gives Bibi and the other craven fools in Israeli government a lesson in common sense survival.

Why don’t you level with us Yambo. Bibi is not only a sociopath but a hopeless cross dressing pedopheliac, psychopath who has has had for many years a sexual relationship with a male, muslim camel. And this is one of his lesser vices.

Hymie, that’s as good a self description of you as I could have conjured off the top of my head. I see you’ve taken to heart the euphemism “Know thyself”

Israel should break diplomatic relations with every country that has recently recognized the Pali State. We give them the choice of Israel or the Palis

I liked your previous suggestion better

Break off relations with the whole world- Relocate to Mars-no obama, no pals no nutting.

Stage II: Launch the largest aliyah drive in history bringing in say, two million Jews from the US, Canada, France, and Britain.

    Add three from my family.

better still- put your money where your mouth is-make aliyah, like now. devote your time flicking chicken feathers on a kibbutz rather than shovelling all your gibberish on this site. Spare us grief. bye, bye charles

  12. Netanyahu tough?

My current analysis of Netanyahu is that he is strictly center-left. He has a policy of “studied ambiguity”, where he says and does as little as possible until a mini-crisis arrives, and then he says and does just enough to appease his coalition members and keep his coalition intact.

He works closely with Ehud Barak (his left-wing figleaf) to keep the settlers bottled up (to appease the gentiles), pretending that it is somehow without his approval. The blood of the Fogel family is actually on Netanyahu’s hands, rather than Barak’s. So as a response, Netanyahu had to make some token gestures to appease the right-wing: he gave final approval to a few new houses within the security fence; he stopped talking (for now) about a proposal to surrender more of Jewish Israel to the muslim savages, and he “expressed displeasure” with Barak’s recent statements about Israel’s world isolation.

But it is all a game. Netanyahu purposely never takes a hard stand, or a permanent stand. He zigs a bit left when he has to appease the gentiles, and he zags a bit right when he has to appease his coalition.

In the end, he is either very good at disguising his true values, or he simply has no true values, other than to stay in power as long as possible (at the expense of the Jewish nation).

I should point out that Israel could propose this deal or could do it unilaterally. I think they will opt for the later. As for Jerusalem, it stays united.

Ted Jerusalem is already divided and it’s never been worse than under BB.

    King Attacks Netanyahu
In contrast to the positive picture painted by Saar and succeeding speakers, King, a familiar face on the Jerusalem activism scene and head of the Israel Land Fund, began his talk aggressively: “Bibi [Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu] has already divided Jerusalem! Not with words, but with actions…. There are seven neighborhoods – and now another one has just been added, Isawiya, very close to here – where Jews are not permitted to enter! … In addition, 7% of Jerusalem area has been transferred to the control of the IDF, in violation of the Basic Law: Jerusalem.

“The Israel Police do not enter these neighborhoods, while the PA police direct traffic there! … Bibi also allows illegal Moslem burials outside the eastern wall of the Temple Mount – something that no prime minister before him allowed… The PA has also paved several kilometers of roads in Jerusalem… Bibi is doing terrible things, things that Barak in Camp David [in the late 90’s, when he agreed to give 95-98% of Judea and Samaria to the PA] never dreamed of doing.”

King screened three video clips, one that showed how soldiers did not allow a Jewish car to enter an Arab-populated neighborhood “just 250 meters from French Hill,” while allowing Arabs to pass through unhindered.

Another member of the speakers’ panel – Shlomo Attias of Shas, head of the Jewish Quarter Development Company – acknowledged that he did not know much of what King reported, and that it was shocking news.

    Danon Agrees – Mostly
MK Danny Danon (Likud) told how he and King worked together to salvage Jewish-owned land in Jerusalem 13 years ago: “At one point, we went to a building in Maaleh Zeitim [Ras el-Amoud], but even though it was totally and legally ours, we had to go at night so as not to [arouse problems]… Arabs saw us and started attacking us with rocks. We called the police, located at the time just 300 meters away, and they made us wait for three hours before arriving! They did it purposely, so that we would get scared and leave altogether – but we didn’t, and finally the police arrived and dispersed the attackers. Today, of course, dozens of Jewish families live there, with dozens more set to move in these very weeks…”

Danon also related that several years ago, the neighborhood of Har Homa – now populated by close to 30,000 Jews – was the main issue of contention: “Clinton and Albright ordered Netanyahu, who was Prime Minister at the time, not to sign the tenders for construction, because Arafat would never agree to have Bethlehem cut off from the Temple Mount. But we gathered some MKs and exerted pressure and made it clear that the government would fall on this issue – and Bibi signed the papers.”

Danon agreed that “the situation in Jerusalem is a catastrophe… Just a few weeks ago, plans for developing some new neighborhoods were abruptly removed from the planning committee’s agenda…”

Despite this, he did not agree with Aryeh King’s implied call to replace Netanyahu, and said that it is best to be part of the government and to struggle for change from within.

    What Happened With Atarot?
King said that the solution for Jerusalem is to build large housing projects in and around Jerusalem: “For instance, there was a plan to build 10,000 units for the hareidi-religious public in Atarot, in northern Jerusalem – but for some reason, Mayor Barkat shelved it. It is projects like these that will save Jerusalem!”

Barkat had been listed to speak at the session, but canceled his participation shortly beforehand. He recently said that he would like the government to help the city rezone Atarot, until recently the site of an airport, into a 200-acre industrial and hi-tech park.

  14. Israel should break diplomatic relations with every country that has recently recognized the Pali State. We give them the choice of Israel or the Palis. That would signal that we are serious and in the same message we should tighten the screws on the palis. It might give pause to other countries considering Pali recognition. The more pressure applied to Israel the more pressure we should apply to the Palis. Boycotts products and services of Jewish owned concerns in Y&S should meet with equal boycotts of all Palis produce into Israel including employing
Arab labor. We can also block our port facilities to them and end tax rebates.

Israel can play hardball and we have many hardballs that can be played. Let all those S. American countries support their new welfare clients.

As I’ve written a hundred times in the past, draw the borders based on security, religious, demographic, and lebensraum considerations and walk away from the hangman’s noose negotiating table.

Defend the new borders to the last man.

Stage II: Launch the largest aliyah drive in history bringing in say, two million Jews from the US, Canada, France, and Britain.

    Add three from my family.

Charles first of all Mazal Tov on your new addition and secondly we are as usual on the same page. The gentiles and the American economy will be the greatest catalyst to Aliyah in the next few years.

If lebensraum considerations are honest they should include all the rest on your list.

  18. I hope and believe that in this plan Israel will extend Israeli law to parts of Judea and Samaria and offer the rest to the Palestinian Arabs for their provisional state but deny them control of borders and airspace.

This seems to be the minimal arrangement that the Israeli government feels would be absolutely necessary to address their security concerns. Of course if the Jews say “up” the muzzies/arabs will say “down”. But what of Jerusalem? Ramallah would be a more reasonable capital for the Fakestinians but of course they absolutely want J’salem; yet J’salem is the one thing Israel must never ever compromise on.

  19. Molcho told the envoys that Israel would soon take steps on the ground to demonstrate its commitment to concluding a final peace agreement with the Palestinians.

Arafathead was offered 95% of his demands and he still walked away. Arabs/muslims should be afraid of agreeing to an arrangement with Jews lest they end up murdered by their co-religionists.
