Israel’s Ambassador in the United States, Michael Oren, told IDF Radio Tuesday that there is no American veto on a possible ground maneuver by the IDF in Gaza.
“Washington’s support in any step Israel takes is full,” he said. “Obama spoke twice with the prime minister and called our situation ‘unbearable.'”
According to a new survey published by Israel’s Dahaf Institute Institute, headed by Dr. Mina Tzemach, 43% of the public believes the best thing for Israel would be to overthrow the Hamas regime.
After witnessing the hundreds of rockets shot down by the Iron Dome, 88% of Israelis believe more Iron Dome systems should be put into place, enough to cover the entire country.
Israel is not seeking a ceasefire with Hamas, but rather, guarantees for southern Israel’s safety, Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) said Tuesday.
“There is some misunderstanding here,” he told IDF Radio (Galei Tzahal). “Israel is not seeking a ceasefire. We are trying to bring long-term quiet with international guarantees.”
“What will talk of a ceasefire give us?” Erdan asked. “If a missile falls, will they say it was a lone ‘trickle’? What guarantees can the world give residents of southern Israel?”
According to some reports, the United States and Egypt would commit to fighting weapons smuggling to Gaza as part of a ceasefire deal.
“The operation will end with an agreement vis-à-vis Hamas regarding a ‘lull’,” he said, “but reaching such an agreement requires that Hamas be brought to a situation in which it understands that it has no choice.
Weiss said that there is no reason to fear international pressure, and dismissed as “groundless” the concerns that once the IDF enters Gaza it will become bogged down. “There is no reason why the IDF cannot carry out a limited operation in Gaza and leave in time,” he determined.
More iron domes make no sense because it legitimize the right of the primitive & fanatical to send more rockets. 2nd, who will pay for this very expensive system?
IL must retake the Phil corridor. That will emasculated the primitives & fanatical. 3rd, Iran must be brought to size. The sooner the better for the whole world.
In a surprise attack, the Hezbollah should be dealed with. That would put considerable pressure on Iran immediately.
@ Sam Goldblatt:
That’s not murder, that’s euthanasia.
Sam Goldblatt= spineless, self-hating, hamas apologist.
@ Max:
Iron Dome, Max, 3 dead. Terrible, but, that’s a miniscule number. The point is mass murdering the Palestinians would be the end of Israel. If you think Israel is invincible – you’re meshugganah.
There is not one interested party (USA,Egypt, Turkey) that has any good intentions.
There shall be no peace until Hamas is COMPLETELY removed.
Just like their brethren, the Barbary pirates, in the early days of America, were
only silenced by bombing them.
You are not going to do anything with diplomacy.

Nothing wrong with that , except all of leadership of those countries want to harm Israel. It’s the realpolitik.
Always it works this way – whatever result has been been achieved is because someone who has the power wants it to happen.
‘For Israeli security no one is out there except Israel and its people”
I’m not too sure about that, for the last decade looks like someone poisoned the barrel. The Three Stooges in the ‘Comedy of Terrors’.
Sam Goldblatt Said:
You don’t have to worry about that, if you are in Israel you aren’t going to have any grandkids.
@ Max:
Get back on your meds, Max. Maybe the grandkids can bring you a macaroon.
In order to save Hamas from destruction, Egypt and Turkey could convince Hamas representatives to sign any agreement which won’t be kept. For Israeli security no one is out there except Israel and its people. What is wrong to get rid off Hamas in order to pave way for moderate elements (if any)? What is wrong to demand from Egypt, USA and Turkey to put pressure on Hamas not to ever fire rockets or any other stuff that could harm Israel? None of these countries tolerate anything that violates the security of their respective countries unlike Israel. why should Israel subject itself to international pressure that try to stop her whenever it is ready to have a decisive victory over its enemies? How long this could be tolerated?
The IDF will not become ‘bogged down’ if they simply unleash hell to anything that moves or fires upon them. The entire Gaza Strip can be warned. If they are anywhere near HAMAS or Hamas firing weapons they are dead.
It doesn’t matter how many ‘civilian’ casualties there are, so long as it is done fast and it is over.
Once it’s done, their ‘weeping and wailing’ and propaganda is useless. That is all for a deterrent, finish Hamas and it’s a ‘fait accompli’ the world will accept it.
…
“Hey the terrorists are all gone..too bad about the civilians eh? Oh well..all over”
Sweet words aren’t they?
…
Teach the Gazans being near HAMAS = death – like an automatic reflex.
They will learn the lesson and shun Hamas or they will be dead.
Win-Win.
And once it’s done they know it can and will be done again.
Their game is finished.
If they want to be near Hamas, then they have chose terrorism and are not innocent and are not civilians.
If they get their children killed they have murdered them for Jihad.
