Re: Conference – “About Jordan: Growth and Opportunity – the London Initiative 2019
Dear Prime Minister May,
As always, the relationship between our country, Jordan, and the United Kingdom has always been the most special. The UK has been a true historical ally and supporter to the Jordanian people. On behalf of the people of Jordan, and Jordan’s shadow government, I would like to thank your government and the British people for your generous and precious support.
I am writing to you today with respect to the Feb. 28, 2019 Conference entitled: “About Jordan: Growth and Opportunity – the London Initiative 2019”
As you know, this conference is designed to get you to open your purse and help the King of Jordan raise money to not only help his struggling economy, but to pay off massive debts that he has incurred and created.
As you attend the conference, I hope that you will take the following into consideration:
1) Poor Economic Choices: The King has placed himself in this situation not only with a series of poor economic policies and actions, but also a series of underhanded, questionable bookkeeping techniques that have enriched him and his family at the expense of the Jordanian people;
2) False Needs: The King falsely claims that he needs the money to keep his Kingdom solvent and meet the needs of the international financial community. We at the JOC find this odd because it is estimated that Jordan pulls in about $40 billion a year in taxes, yet the Parliament provides a miniscule budget of about $13 Billion a year? What happened to the rest of the money?
3) Above the Law: Even with a Constitution, The Jordanian Kingdom is a dictatorship. This came into focus for the world a couple of years ago when the King ordered the Jordanian Parliament to Amend the Constitution, placing the Hashemite throne and family above the Constitution and the people he represents. That means that his will controls the country, he and his family can do anything he/they want and get away with it, and that no matter what they do to their people or how much they steal, they cannot ever be tried for the crimes they commit against the Jordanian people. For example, the King is clearly a:
- Thug – Because crime does not exist in the country unless he allows it. His criminal activity stretches from supporting ISIS by selling them stolen weapons to Stealing Foreign Aid to assisting in the selling of Drugs (as documented by the DEA);
- Thief – Because there is no transparency in anything the King and his family does, there is no accountability or transparency. As such, the King and his underlings skim money from not just the Foreign Aid and investment that the country receives, but from the country’s budget;
- Spend Thrift – The Royal family lives a lavish lifestyle while his citizens starve. Several factors prove this – wither it be the queen’s dramatic spending habits to the fleet of flying machines the King uses for national, regional, and international travel;
- Gambler – The King has several negative addictive habits that have aged him considerably over the past 5 years. The largest addiction that he has is gambling. It is common knowledge that his gambling junkets not only cost millions in travel and security expenses, but his loses at the tables have exceeded millions of US Dollars per ‘session’;
- Foreigner and An Absentee Landlord – The world needs to remember that the Hashemite’s are not native to Jordan. They also need to understand that he has multiple residences and has been known to spend at least ½ the year out of the country. What he does when he is gone, is anyone’s guess. It’s clear that he is living in one of his many estates (including Florida, Maryland and California);
- Apartheid Supporter – The King, through his actions, has embraced the creation of an apartheid society in Jordan, a society that started before he became King;
4) Jordan is undergoing a “People’s Revolution”: The people of Jordan want changes, including peace with Israel. To get this change, they have been openly demonstrating, even with the thought of arrest and detainment. To show you how badly Jordanians want change, the next 2 videos show the demonstrations in action. Video 1 is located athttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vwligk417TQ , while Video 2 is located at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3g72-2eGpE . We have a list of videos documenting the massive public anger against the king in our Youtube.com Library, located at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZGWp2qQrDX153iQwIGGgEw/videos
5) Civil Rights Denier: Civil Rights Abuses under the King’s reign have resulted in an increase in both arrests and detentions. Currently, with the assistance of the Parliament, the Dictatorship is emptying the jails of people who have been convicted of felonies and is filling them up with those who have practiced recognized human rights, including free speech. In total, Jordan has about 15,500 jail cells, with at least 2 prisoners in each one. This does not include free form detention centers that spring up and disappear after the prisoners are ‘taken care of’ (either detained in jail or disposed of). As a result, Jordanians have few freedoms and rights, systematic torture and abuse are rampant in the king’s jails, and here’s a testimony of female prisoners being denied hygienic material https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa-Cz-LNiQs
6) Apartheid Supporter: Jordan, in association with both Arab and Jordanian decrees, has developed a variety of laws that when combined, can only be defined as Apartheid. Since the King took over, those laws have become more restrictive and created more classes of people defined by the Apartheid techniques. This has denied millions of their inherent rights, and caused damage to families that is beyond belief;
7) Theft of Jordanian future/heritage: As the King’s world crumbles around him, Jordanians have noticed things missing besides money from the national museum and national car museum. So far, Antiquities, cars and funds are missing, and they are probably hiding in one of his many palatial estates around the world. Unfortunately, without Transparency and proper bookkeeping techniques, these items and funds are probably lost forever;
8) Peace Denier: On one hand, the King claims to be the main negotiator for the Palestinian people. He does this while denying Palestinians living in our country rights, education, funds and the ability to live life as an honorable human. On the other hand, we have seen the stalemate of the Peace Process now for years. If he is so important to the process, why has there been no movement in any direction towards peace in the Middle East under his regime?
As you prepare to open your checkbook and write the King a check, I want to leave you with three very important thoughts. First, Jordanians badly want change, and they want it ASAP. All they want is to be able to live their lives in peace, provide for their families, and have honorable employment. The sooner this happens, the more lives, resources and money that will be saved. This will help us not only provide a better economic and political future for the people of Jordan, but for the region. For the record, we believe that this change will also help protect regional Interests for the United States, and this change will help stabilize the region because it will help expand trade while enhancing economic opportunities.
Second, you should know that you could provide the King with unlimited funds, and that will not help Jordan’s problems, as long as he sits on the throne. Why? For 2 reasons. First, he will skim at least half of it off the top for his own selfish needs. Second, what he doesn’t take, his underlings will. That means that a small fraction of the money you give him will filter down towards helping our people. This is what he loves – it keeps him at your doorstep, continually asking (begging) for money. For the sake of all Jordanians and British taxpayers, we beg you to withhold your money until the regime is peacefully changed in Jordan.
Second, should you for some reason decide to help the King with his mad schemes, The JOC wants to make this clear:
- The loans should come with three major requirements. First, transparency, with regular reviews (every 6 months). Second, the money MUST be used for what it is given; helping our people and not the king’s lavish lifestyle. Third, the money should be given in increments – based on the passage of the Transparency Review.
In closing, the JOC wants to stress the following: Any loans extended to the Dictator as a result of this conference, will not be paid back when the regime falls or changes, especially if they do not follow the above 3 requirements.
As we remain committed to serving and upholding the mutual interests of Jordan and the UK; I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely;
Mudar Zahran
Secretary General
The Jordanian Opposition Coalition
Read the tepid letter of complaints by Mudar LOL
Besides stating the obvious, the complaints are pretty mild compared to other autocratic regimes supported and funded by the Brits and other Western Democracies.
IMO the letter is a Joke !!! Nobody will take it seriously first and foremost because of the letters’ source.
The Algemeiner report contains significant new information. THe U.S. and Britain reafirmed their support for the Jordanian monarchy, probably in response to the reports in certain quarters that the U.S. supported regime change in Jordan. Also significant is that Abdullah’s shnorring expedition to Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, in doubt last year, has now apparently succeeded. This buys the king some time, although it cannot prevent Jordan’s financial collapse at some point down the road.
@ Bear Klein: I agree. A real risk.
https://www.algemeiner.com/2019/02/28/us-saudi-arabia-and-uk-back-global-coalition-for-jordan/
US, UK, Saudis, Egypt all back the King! Unless Mudar really has on the ground support in Jordan in significant and meaningful numbers he will have ZERO influence.
Jordan falling apart could lead to renewed terrorism on Israel’s long border with Jordan, the likes Israel has not seen since before the 1967 War.
