Mothers of combat soldiers to PM: “The lives of our sons, daughters, brothers and sisters are more important than the lives of the enemy’s civilians”

After seeing how Hamas terrorists hide behind civilian populations, a group of mothers of IDF combat soldiers called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “We are not prepared under any circumstances to accept a situation in which the lives of our soldiers will be in danger; the lives of our soldiers come before the lives of the enemy’s civilians.”

A group of mothers whose children are serving on various fronts appealed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to endanger the safety of their children due to a fear of harming the enemy’s civilians.

The letter was sent in light the IDF spokesman’s announcement that terrorists are hiding in hospitals and behind the civilian population.

In the letter, which was sent in collaboration with Mateh Menatzchim activists, the mothers say that they will not accept a situation which would endanger the lives of soldiers, in order to protect the lives of the enemy’s civilians.

The mothers of the soldiers also wrote in their letter: “Our sons man the various battle fronts, day and night, with strength and steadfast spirit, and in the few conversations with them we hear about the fighting spirit, and about their desire to restore the sense of security to the citizens of Israel. On the other hand, we are exposed to the reality where the enemy’s terrorists are hiding behind a civilian population and use civilian and even medical facilities as human shields. We are not prepared under any circumstances to accept a situation in which the lives of our soldiers will be endangered in order to protect the lives of the enemy’s citizens. For our sake, the population of Gaza who chose the rule of Hamas, supports it even now, rejoices over the murder of Jews, participates in the humiliation of the hostages and encourages the firing of rockets at Israeli citizens – everyone there is covering up a crime.”

“We call on the government and the IDF: do not endanger the safety of our children due to the fear of harming enemy civilians. The lives of our sons, daughters, brothers and sisters are more important than the lives of enemy citizens. We demand a clear promise that the safety and well-being of our combat soldiers come first, and that no consideration of public image or international law will constitute a consideration to endanger our soldiers. We call upon the government of Israel and the IDF: be strong and brave – fight until complete victory! Do not stop until this war is won. The people are behind you, the mothers of the soldiers are behind you and together we will win.”
