Ministers outraged at A-G: “Disgrace, there’s no enforcement”

Cabinet ministers stunned to learn only 6 indictments filed in over 500 arrests at anti-government protests.

The discussion with Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara during the weekly Cabinet meeting became heated after data was presented showing that very few indictments have been made in the ongoing anti-government protests.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir demanded the data on indictments against those who were arrested during the protests,

The attorney general forwarded the data to Deputy Superintendent Yoav Talem, Deputy Head of the Intelligence and Investigations Division in the police, and he replied: “six indictments out of 572 arrested, only for assaulting police officers.”

Ben-Gvir and Justice Minister Yariv Levin asked: “how many were investigated on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime following the organization of the riots”, and Talem replied “not a single one”. In response, Ben-Gvir attacked: “Simply a disgrace. There is no enforcement.”

Minister Miri Regev addressed the attorney general and said: “Ben Gurion Airport is not a public area, it is an important security area for the State of Israel. I will not accept under any circumstances damage to the area and Israel’s aviation routine and blockades of any kind. I request an end to the selective enforcement, politics and personal opinions should be left out of consideration.”

Regev further stated that the data presented at the meeting showed why the attorney general should be dismissed from her position.

Information Minister Galit Distel-Atbaryan said at the meeting that “selective enforcement is evil” and questioned why protests outside ministers’ homes were being allowed now when limitations were placed on the holding of protests outside former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s Ra’anana home.

The organizers of the ‘Kaplan Force’ protest movement responded, “The attack that the attorney general is currently undergoing is a direct continuation of the planned attack on the rule of law in the State of Israel, by the government of destruction. The demand for police violence, and the use of governmental tools to suppress the protest, while delegitimizing the gatekeepers, are an essential part of the coup. This was the case in Hungary, Turkey and Poland. Next Tuesday we will go out to defend Israeli democracy. If the government doesn’t stop, the state will.”

Jordan is an actively a source of support and coordination for the Islamist terror which afflicts Israelis on a daily basis. This is what the JO is structured to remedy. You ask why the Pals would self emigrate, the answer is that they will go where the financial subsidies and free education and free housing will take them, and that will be in Jordan. Mudar will revamp the education system, outlaw the Islamists, and ban UNWRA. Recall that the current regime in Amman is dedicated to teaching the Pals that the Jews are subhuman, that they are colonial invaders, and that they are infidels desecrating Al Aqsa. Recall also that the JO provides the creation of an economy for the Pals who are kept in squalor, held as second rate citizens in their own country by a king who fears them more than any foreign power – which is why he keeps them poor and occupied with their Jihadi teachings to kill the Jews. Even if Mudar’s attempt to change the Pals from their current preoccupation with killing Jews is not fully successful, their ready access to their intended targets will be beyond their reach on the other side of the Jordan.

As to the military and economic aid, these are already provided to Jordan from the largess of the American taxpayers – recall that Jordan is the largest recipient of US aid in the world, and this was true before their aid was massively increased last year. The problem with the US aid is that it is siphoned off and squandered for purposes for which it was not intended.

Now, perhaps you are still reluctant to support this plan, but given your statements, I’m not sure I understand why. I

So you would rather contend with the hatred as it is led by someone who endorses the hatred rather then embrace the guy who wants to try to change the mindset.

  3. Mudar has some good points, but I see only disaster for Israel if he even dreams of ‘changing the mindset” of hostile Arab citizens of Jordan. It simply cannot be done. Pour all the money in the world into the JO and it will only be absorbed by those collecting it. It is like the Zalenko con game in Ukraine to plead for military aid and watch it get destroyed or diverted into suspected deep pockets.

  4. @Peloni I respect your right to your views and beliefs. Certainly when it comes Mudar Zahran & J/O we do not agree.

As I mentioned before if it ever happens I will say Ted, is brilliant. I however live in the real world and know the middle east. So I do not believe it.

@ Ted & Peloni, To quote Ronald Regan, “trust but verify”. Or in my words provide real world verification and proof and I will believe you. Taking someone’s word for things that are illogical plus repeated forecasts and statements of things that did not materialize or were not truthful is frankly naive or stupid or both!!

Also to my knowledge he is not allowed into Israel. At least in 2019 he was not allowed to enter Israel according to a Jpost article.

The Jpost article was erroneous. I have personal knowledge of the true facts which I can’t divulge to you.
You can choose not to believe me. No problem.

You really should watch the videos shared in Ted’s article, and if you are unconvinced, search the web to test Mudar’s consistency, and I believe you will not be disappointed. Mudar has supported Israel even while Israel has been under attack from the Islamist supporters within Gaza, the PA and Jordan. Also, when speaking before the EU, Mudar made a better case in support of Israel than many of Israel’s own leaders have been capable of doing. In fact, his position as being a member of the subjugated Pals provides him the ability and clarity and independence with which to speak to the reality that the subjugation under which the Pals exist is not that of Israel, but that of the despotic Jordanian king and his Islamist allies in the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. Certainly no other Pal or Arab has challenged the EU with having acted to harm the Pals with their efforts to abuse Israel in support of the Pal and Jordanian leadership, which brings us to the issue of the established Status Quo with both these groups.

It should be recalled that in the past few days, even as Israel is considering providing the Pals with their own gas field revenues among other incentives, the PA has called on its forces to seek out targets against Israel. Also an intimate ally of the Jordan king has recently been caught red-handed parsing weapons and treasure in support of the ongoing terror wave in Israel. And let us not forget that the Jordanian king has, himself, repeatedly called on his Islamist allies to respond against Israel due to false allegations he makes about Al Aqsa, which is in opposition to the existing treaty between Jordan and Israel and which led to the 2021 May War of Riots and Rockets. These facts simply speak to the absolute need for Israel to recognize that the Status Quo is no longer the status quo, even if Israel would be so foolish as to support the continued payment of the butcher’s bill in maintaining it.

Contrary to the failed Status Quo, the JO provides the best opportunity to provide a change which is in both the interests of the Pals and Israelis, beginning with a sizeable reduction in the Pals present on this side of the Jordan. Of course the reduction of the cleft in Israel will have its own benefits to both sides, but the JO is much more far reaching than even this. Rather than imposing a top down decree, Mudar and Ted seek to change the mindset of the Jordanian citizens (including the Pals) using the very dependency upon which their radicalization has been pursued under the Hashemites and UNWRA.

As to the fear that Jordan will itself become a failed state, it should be recognized that Jordan has been standing despite the great weight to be found within its own corruption and dysfunction, and that this feat has been due to the management of the Jordanian military, which is itself supported by the US govt. In fact, a major US military base sits in Jordan and Jordan continues to receive the greatest level of US aid in the world though the aid has somewhat little effect in improving the lives of the people due to the corruption within the ruling regime. In other words, Jordan has been a failed state for some time now and the missing aspects of this reality are only due to the economic and military structures which have been set in place by America, which is not likely to be altered due to the implementation of a more moderate, more democratic, and more capable govt over the corrupt, inept, Hashemite oppressors.

@Ted Belman, This illustrates the main reason why I have little faith in the JO. It is based on one man, Muhar Zaharan, and on his willingness or ability to cooperate with Israel, and to change the palestinian/arab mindset. Both are problematic.

Completely agree with your logic. Mudar is exiled in England and that is why he is not in prison in Jordan or not dead most likely. Also to my knowledge he is not allowed into Israel. At least in 2019 he was not allowed to enter Israel according to a Jpost article.

  8. The riots in Israel and the AG’s inaction are reminiscent of the American “summer of rage” riots in 2020. Again, there are too many parallels to be coincidental. America was under attack; Israel is under attack…by the same forces.

….Mudar wants to cooperate with Israel, not confront Israel. He sincerely believes he can change the Palestinian/Arab mindset. I support him because I trust him to live up to his word.

Frankly, I’m surprised that MZ has not been “removed” or compromised already.

  10. Avidgdor I do not disagree with you. I wrote victory over the terrorists is the only start to a solution. You I think might not have read what I wrote in its entirety or understand it.

  11. Bear and Ted B. are dreaming with their “if the Arabs would agree to live in peace with Jews-Israel” ! Everyone who knows the Koran and the last at least 100 years of Jewish-Moslem hostility must know too that there is no peaceful solution to this conflict. Separation is the only way to have peace, but this is not likely either. Jordan, Ted should realize, is very close to Israel’s border. Do we really need a hostile Arab state on our eastern border? Must Israel help establish this destabilizing non-country right beside Israel? Once initiated it cannot so easily be dissolved except by war.
