Trump’s lawyer said he would take the bullet for him. And that’s what he’s doing.
Nobody wanted to believe his testimony on behalf of Trump. So he turned on Trump, disavows him, trashes him. And became a credible witness for Mueller.
Now the media breathlessly produce gushing reports about the crimes he testifies on. Collusion. There is no such crime. Collusion is an illegal economic activity of oligarchs who control monopolies. But there is no such prohibition in foreign policy. That’s why nobody sued Obama when he was caught telling Medvedev on hot mic “tell Putin, after the election I have more flexibility.”
Or paying off starlets to keep their mouth shut. That can never be misconstrued as illegal campaign finance.
Cohen has pulled off the greatest circus feat. He is confessing to a series of crimes which don’t exist. I would wager the tapes he recorded were staged for Mueller. They are leading to a dead end. Charles Laughton would be thunderstruck.
