Foreign minister comes out against protests against Bedouin resettlement plan, calls for reevaluation of Praver bill. ‘It’s not a social problem, it’s a fight for land’

Protest in Hura Junction

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman harshly criticized the “day of rage” protests being held against the Bedouin resettlement plan across the country. “Nothing has changed since the Tower and Stockade days. We are fighting for the lands of the Jewish people and there are those who intentionally try to rob and seize them,” Lieberman said in a Facebook post.

Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav denounced the violent protest in the city. Protest is a democratic duty, he said, “but the violence we saw today does not come from Haifa and has no place in a city that has known peace among all parts of society for 110 years.”

Liberman added that “one doesn’t have to be an expert on geography or demographics to understand that the situation there (in the Negev) is a catastrophe. It’s our duty to stop the situation where some citizens abide by the planning and construction laws and some dismiss and evade them through violence. It’s not a social problem, or housing crisis, it’s a fight for land, ever since the 19th century.”

Lieberman said that the government cannot shut its eyes in the face of the problem and must address it. “There’s no reason why multi-story buildings will not be built in Umm al-Fahm as they are in Beirut, Cairo and Gaza. The government must build modern cities for the Arab population, with infrastructure and permits. Building permits isn’t for Jews only.”

He noted that he was initially against the Praver plan and only supported it once Minister Benny Begin said the Bedouins had consented. He is now calling for a reevaluation of the plan and a withdrawal of its benefits for Bedouins. “If there is no full agreement – there are no benefits.”

  1. Well… I am ready to start corrective action. What we observe was coming since Dayan surrendered Temple Mount. That was the signal of things to come.
The whole government system must be taken down, its inhabitants removed and FREE elections for a new system of government and a New Jewish National Assembly effected. Anything short of that is futile. New sub structures proposed and approved by the people. Military command dissolved and carefully vetted new Staff selected by the Assembly. etc.
There are Plans long in place for the interested.
    Ready!

They’re already condemning Israel. Gideon Levy wants the world to impose sanctions upon Israel. The fawning Hellenists who run Israel who ape the rest of the world are too scared of their own shadow to act decisively and the Arabs know it. That is why they’re not afraid! The Jews are.

Israel is in want of modern day Maccabees to turn things around.

of violence (Intifada) to cow the stupid and weak minded Jews running the operation here. Give me a battalion of IDF grunts and tanks and there will be no intifada or any Bedouins left in the Negev. They will leave for the Sinai and Hebron where most of their clans live and to where they originally came from and few will be hurt on either side. Determination of purpose and overwhelming strength and military power will carry the day

  4. The Bedouin Clans in the Negev are not for the most part indigenous. Before the State they moved according to the seasons and availability of water. Israel brought water to the Negev and allowed them to settle wherever they chose. In those days there were few but due to modern medicine improved diet and Bedouin theft of Jewish sheep herds and agricultural equipment like tractors they have not only increased in demographics but actual independent wealth. The larger the clans the more land they require for their immediate clans. Since Israel grants them citizens rights they collect a government stipend for every child. Since most males have up to 4 wives and each wife has 3-6 children the head of each family unit can exact out of the government between $2-4000. So we pay the Arabs to have children a very noble Zionist imperative. (Sick, SPIT). Interesting that the same fools who dangle the demographic aruments for 2 State Solution mainly because of demographics ignore the Israeli Arab demographic growth and nobody seems concerned or questions why we pay the same Arabs to breed here within the green line?

Israeli Jews are in need of a ‘National Couch’!!!!

Years Ago my reserve IDF unit provided security for Israeli contractors who built for the Arabs modern 2-3 story apartments with all modern facilities and were prepared to give them for free to the Arabs. Jews don’t get modern free Apts. The government spent or wasted many millions of dollars on such foolish enterprises and so The Arabs refused to take them, preferring their own style and locations…..Problem is decision makers in Israel do not understand the Arabs and if we don’t who live with them what does that ay about the rest of the non Arab world especially Americans?
I speak bluntly to my Arab and Bedouin neighbors, I tell them theat in the end it’s them or us and so it will be them. They smile and nod in agreement but respect my bluntness especially when I tell them that if they don’t leave we will have to kill them. They nod in agreement to that as well.

They are counting on other Arabs the West and stupid leftist Jews to prolong the final confrontation but most of all their threat of violence (Intifada) to cow the stupid and weak minded Jews running the operation here. Give me a battalion of IDF grunts and tanks and there will be no intifada or any Bedouins left in the Negev. They will leave for the Sinai and Hebron where most of their clans live and to where they originally came from and few will be hurt on either side. Determination of purpose and overwhelming strength and military power will carry the day.

  5. @ Yidvocate:

Exactly. Yamit82 would agree with you!

Why does Israel owe Jew-hating Arabs compensation of any kind? Drive them out of the country and let their Arab brethren take care of them.

Its not Israel’s duty to sublet even a part of the Jewish homeland to its enemies.

  6. @ Yidvocate:
    right you are.

Why is it that any land that the Arabs decide to squat on should be recognized as theirs, but land that Jewish “settlers” actually purchased in Judea/Samaria and eastern Jerusalem is an illegitimate occupation? That is the twisted narrative of the left.

  7. The government must build modern cities for the Arab population, with infrastructure and..

    Why “must” it?

Why not just send these lying, Jew-hating, Jew-killers out of our country? They have were to go. 22 Arab and 56 Muslim countries to go to in fact.

We only have this tiny sliver of land.

Didn’t they in their Arab-Muslim lands kick out almost every single Jew and stole their property?

Why do we owe them anything? Anything at all?

    Why “must” we Mr. Lieberman?

    Why exactly?

  8. I was against the Prawer Plan – the brainchild of the idiotic Benny Begin.

Basically, it legitimizes the wholesale theft of Israel state lands and gives them to undeserving and hostile Arabs.

I hope the protests are a wake-up call for Israel’s leaders – appeasing Arabs neither buys the Jews their goodwill nor does it alleviate international pressure on Israel.

And these protests are in pre-1967 Israel! Do people imagine that if the “occupation” ended today, Israel would be welcomed back into the family of nations? We got a glimpse of the day after, in which the international assault on Israel would be re-doubled.

Its time to yank down the Prawer Plan and begin enforcing Israeli law against illegal Arab construction and squatting throughout the state. Its time to send the message to the Arabs the homeland of the Jewish people is not for sale – at any price.

Otherwise, the demonization and delegitimization of Israel in the world will only intensify and Israel will wind up being even more isolated. Its time to stand up unapologetically for Zionism and Jewish national rights in the Land Of Israel!
