Liberman: IDF Response to Syria Was ‘Bulls***’

Ex-FM criticizes IDF retaliation to rocket fire, saying strikes on infrastructure mean ‘they hit empty space pretending to do something.’

Former Foreign Minister and Yisrael Beytenu chairman MK Avigdor Liberman on Friday criticized the IDF retaliation to four rockets fired from Syria the day before, saying the response was weak.

“When you hear that they tried to attack infrastructure, usually that means sand or empty areas to sell the same bulls*** to the people of Israel that they did something,” Liberman told Army Radio.

It should be noted that when Israelis use the English term “bulls***,” they do not perceive it as containing a crass element, only as meaning “nonsense.”

Overnight the IDF struck 14 targets in Syria in response to the rockets that struck the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee in the afternoon hours.

The targets hit included weapons storehouses and infrastructure of the Syrian army, which Israel held responsible for allowing the rocket fire it said was conducted by the Islamic Jihad terror organization, under the direction and funding of Iran.

Four rockets 107 millimeters in diameter were fired at Israel on Thursday at around 5:30 p.m., causing no damage to residents although two fires were set off by the explosions in the Upper Galilee.

A senior IDF officer said on Thursday evening that Iran was behind the rocket attack, noting that the directive to fire the rockets was personally given out by the head of the Palestinian department in Iran’s Al-Quds force.

The senior officer’s comments regarding Iran’s involvement in the attack are in line with a report from April, when Iranian officials reportedly told the Syrian regime to strike Israel and open a war front on the Golan.

  1. Debkafile is now reporting that the so called “rocket team” who were responsible for the firing of the missiles into ISRAEL from Syria were directly hit by Israeli retaliatory action.
I must admit I am largely in harmony with Mar HaLevi’s drift. Hizzbullah should have never been allowed to establish itself in Lebanon and Hamas should not be given any leeway unless they provide reliable security cooperation, which is impossible as they are the ones who are the instigators, but then so too is Abbas and his f troop. So, what is the answer. True NETANYAHU makes unreasonable concessions in return for more attacks and the situTion has deteriorated to the point that we are almost needing to annex territories and move populations, that I am tending to think is the only option to safeguard ISRAEL. If so, it needs to be perfectly and soon. It would be nice if Egypt and Jordan would step up and accept the so called Palestinians as compensation for ISRAEL saving the gulf nations from certain destruction by Iran and ISIS.
Perhaps Carter’s metastasizing brIn cancer is the sign of the end of an era.

  2. Not that I am much of a Lieberman fan but he is totally correct. The so called responses are simply pathetic, not relevant at all. And that has been the way the trash has abandoned any semblance of a true for the people military ever since Oslo.
WE ARE IN DIRE danger as that element will not ever perform to a Jewish National interest. Not ever.
“Serving” is only for the benefit of the “300” and 18.
    We are warned.
Iran was intentionally waived on by Netanyahu.
