Last summer’s war against Lebanon’s Hizb’allah has triggered a baby boom in Israel.
Figures published on Monday showed a 35 percent increase in the number of women now in their fifth, sixth or seventh month of pregnancy compared to last year.
Past wars have resulted in similar exploding birth rates. Following the 1967 Six Day War and the 1973 Yom Kippur War, Israel experienced baby booms that lasted for years.
