King Abdullah and Abbas sign their own death warrants

T. Belman. I choose this title because Jordan and the PA are railing against the coup in Venezuela because they see foresee a US lead coup in Jordan and the PA.

By attacking the US they make it all the more likely.

Articles In Jordanian, Palestinian Authority Press: America’s Moves Vis-à-vis Venezuela Are Barbaric Imperialism

MEMRI

U.S. President Donald Trump’s official recognition of Venezuelan National Assembly President and opposition leader Juan Guaido as Venezuela’s president, in place of Nicolas Maduro, evoked harsh criticism in Jordan and the Palestinian Authority (PA), from both officials and columnists. Jordan issued no official response to the events in Venezuela, but one of its MPs called on the parliament to issue a statement of support for Maduro, saying that he merits this because of his support for the Palestinian cause. A columnist in Jordan’s Al-Dustour daily harshly attacked the U.S. for the “injustices” it has committed throughout history, and called it an enemy of the peoples who was and will be the embodiment of barbaric imperialism. A columnist for the government daily Al-Rai wrote that the U.S., the head of global imperialism, constantly plots coups and assassinations like the “coup” that is currently taking place in Venezuela.

As for the PA, whereas its Foreign Ministry expressed only veiled criticism of the U.S., Fatah Executive Committee member Ahmad Majdalani slammed the U.S. intervention in Venezuela, calling this part of Trump’s policy that seeks to impose agendas on the world and denies the will of the peoples, usurps their resources and deprives them of freedom. A columnist in the PA mouthpiece wrote that the U.S. was behind the events in Venezuela and called to support Maduro.

The following are excerpts from statements by Jordanian and PA officials and columnists on this topic.

Al-Dustour Columnist: The U.S. Is The Enemy Of The Peoples, The Embodiment Of Barbaric Imperialism

In his January 27 column in the Jordanian daily Al-Dustour, Rashid Hassan, who frequently writes critically of the U.S. and Israel, attacked the U.S., enumerating what he called the atrocities it has perpetrated throughout history. He also claimed that its hostility towards Venezuela is due to the latter’s support of the Palestinian people and its opposition to the American hegemony and barbarity. He wrote: “The U.S. has clarified to all its short-sighted, corrupt, feeble and always cowardly [supporters] that it will never change. It will never change but rather stay as it is: an invader, a Pirate Morgan and an enemy of the peoples. [It will remain the same] U.S. that exterminated more than 30 million Indians and killed three million Vietnamese, one million Iraqis and three million Afghans; the U.S. that was the first in history to use atomic bombs, to attack Hiroshima and Nagasaki; the U.S. which embraces the fascist Zionism, which the U.N. has condemned as a racist fascist movement; the U.S. which does not want the Palestinian people to realize its right to self-determination and an independent state, and insists on leaving [them] dispersed throughout the world or else as slaves in Netanyahu’s empire; and the U.S. that recognizes occupied Arab Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist entity, in flagrant violation of international law.

“This U.S., which was and will continue to be the embodiment of barbaric imperialism is now bluntly interfering in Venezuela. It has ordered one of its puppets, the president of the National Assembly [Juan Guaidó], to declare himself president of Venezuela and immediately recognized him as such. [Then] it ordered those who do its bidding around the world to recognize him as president [as well] instead of the legitimate president, [Nicolás] Maduro, who was democratically elected. History has not changed and is now repeating itself in a tragic manner, or shall we say in a fascistic and blood-soaked manner, heralding the outbreak of a civil war in Venezuela that may spread to the other countries of the continent, reignite the Cold War and reach other parts of the world as well. It cannot be ruled out that the flames will also spread to the Middle East; in fact, this is the most likely [scenario]. [But] losing the war in Syria, Iraq and earlier Afghanistan, the U.S. will surely lose [again] if it dares to ignite new battles in this region, which is already burning…

“The American-Zionist hostility towards the Venezuela of [Hugo] Chavez and [Nicolas] Maduro is due to [Venezuela’s] rejection of America’s hegemony and bullying, its courageous stance in support of the Palestinian people’s struggle and its right to establish an independent state and return from exile to its homeland, and [Venezuela’s] condemnation of the ongoing Zionist aggression and the war of ethnic cleansing that the Zionist gangs are waging against the Palestinian people…

“America’s and Trump’s aggression against Venezuela is a direct [extension] of [America’s] aggression against Cuba, Chile and Nicaragua and of its strategy that opposes these countries sheltering under the principles of [Chavez’s] Bolivarian Revolution, which opposes America’s bullying and control of the countries of Latin America and their transformation into banana republics. This aggression is sure to fail, sooner or later. Victory to the freedom-lovers in Venezuela and the world and defeat to the barbaric imperialism.”

Al-Rai Columnist: The U.S., The Head Of Global Imperialism, Has Never Stopped Planning Coups And Assassinations

Muhammad Kharoub, a columnist for the Jordanian daily Al-Rai, wrote on January 27 that the U.S., which is “the head of global imperialism,” has always planned coups and assassinations throughout the world, like the current coup in Venezuela. He wrote: “Every time some country in the world is about to enter a state of instability, schism and internal strife that can bring it to the verge of civil war or expose it to a military attack that can topple its [regime] and deprive it of legitimacy, we must wonder what role the U.S. played [in this]. Ever since it gained prominence on the international stage, and especially since the end of World War II and its declaration of the cruel and aggressive Cold War against the socialist camp… the U.S. has never stopped planning coups and assassinations, bringing military juntas [into power] and supporting corrupt political elites and party leaders. In particular, it has blocked all attempts to pass democratic constitutions and organize free elections that allow peoples to choose their own leaders, regimes and [the kind of] economic development they want.

“The experiences and events of [the second] half of the 20th century proved that Washington – the head of global imperialism and leader of the so-called ‘free world’ – employed the cruelest and most racist and self-serving aggression in the service of the capitalists and [to promote] the interests of the weapons and oil industry and the universities who [all] control the decision making in the U.S., in Europe and in Japan – the cruel and evil capitalist triangle that steals the resources of the peoples and controls them.

“Focusing on the actions of the leader of the ‘free world’ against the countries and leaders of Latin America exposes the crimes committed by this ‘superpower’, which speaks loftily about defending the values of freedom, democracy, free elections and other whitewashed slogans, that have come to be condemned by most of the peoples of the world, especially the peoples of our Arab nation and the peoples of Latin America and Africa…

“Venezuela… is the current affair and the ‘new’ focus of world attention, after Trump planned a coup – so far an unsuccessful one – against the elected and legitimate president Maduro, so as to complete the swing towards the right, especially towards the populist and fascist right, which the U.S. has managed to bring to power using bullying and intimidation [tactics]. It won the biggest prize, Brazil, when the racist, populist, evangelical pro-Zionist [Jair] Bolsonaro came to power and became the spearhead of American imperialism in the South American continent. His army may lead the American military invasion of Venezuela if and when the U.S. decides to do this…

“[But] the U.S. does not have  a chance of ‘winning’ Venezuela, even if it invades it militarily or supports an invasion by the neighboring South American countries, headed by Brazil, Columbia, Chile and Ecuador, which are ruled by the fascist pro-American right… The U.S. will lead Venezuela into a destructive civil war by insisting on supporting the fascist Venezuelan right.”

  1. @ Ted Belman:
If accurate hope he has a militia on the ground ready and willing to fight.

Reports emerged in early February 2019 that Fatah’s Tanzim military arm in the West Bank has been purchasing weapons smuggled from Syria through Jordan to arm itself for the succession battle when PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ rule comes to an end. The reports may still be unconfirmed, but we should take note of what is going on in southern Syria, which could grow into dangerous complications between Jordan and Israel.

Iran is entrenching itself in Syria and concentrating on the south of the country, along the border with Jordan, not far from Israel. In contrast to reports of Assad’s army taking control of the area, the true situation is far from that. The Sunni resistance forces are still strong and active.

  2. @ Ted Belman:

It is possible that the US behind the scenes is trying to find a Palestinian leader who would go along with the “Ultimate Deal”.
Clearly their dwindling coffers and the age plus health of Abbas are leading to a situation where the PA will implode or explode.

Hopefully if this occurs some of the local Arabs take the opportunity to emigrate. Israel should take the opportunity to apply Israeli Law to Area C and reserve the right to do the same in the future to Areas A&B. If the PA dissolves the Oslo Accords will be over.

  3. adamdalgliesh Said:

Absolutely no published evidence that the U.S. is planning a coup in Jordan.

On the contrary. Though no public statrements, look how so many people that would be affected are vibrating.. The Saudis are going all out to stop it. Russia also chimed in and said there is nothing in the plan for the Palestinians. Hamas is thinking of starting a war again in gaza.

This article alludes to it also.
Don’t you sense that people are freaking out.

  4. @ Bear Klein:
Bear, I am not concerned about the noise the Europeans and other Gentiles will make, except to the extent that it would be used by European governments to whip up popular support for economic and and arms embargoes against Israel. These could cripple the Israeli economy and make it difficult for Israel to defend itself from Arab-Iranian aggression. It is true that the Euros tolerate far more severe ethnic cleansing in Lebanon and Syria, and lots of other places. But that is because they are prejudiced against Israel, in part because antisemitism is part of European culture. THe Euros also want to suck up to the Arabs and Iranians, because trade with them make big profits for European countries, and provides them with their oil supplies. And they think that siding with the Arabs and Iranians against Israel helps them to do this.

  5. @ adamdalgliesh:
Only less Arabs = less terror!

So because one does not like to hear the noise of the Goyim in Europe who are either antiSemites or tolerate antisemitism you would not help promote voluntary incentivized emigration of Arabs please do not cry about the Israeli Supreme Court anymore.

Lebanon is having a massive ethnic cleansing of Sunnis including the Pal/Arabs being replace by Shias. No one in Europe is crying except for the fact that they are landing in Europe in many cases without money and are causing problems galore.

  6. @ Felix Quigley: Felix, the reason I decided not to try to prove to you that Communist regimes inflicted great harm on the peoples of the countries that they ruled, and in some instances still rule, is that I believe from reading your posts over the years that your mind is closed about this issue. However, if you are seriously interested in learning more about this issue and opening your mind to the facts, I suggest that you could make a start by reading Stalin: THe Court of the Red Star, by Simon Sebag Montefiore (Vintage Books, a division of Random House, 2003) . After you finish reading that, I could send you a further reading list of more than twnety books by competent scholars and/or eyewitness accounts of the brutal tyranny and massive violations of the Soviet, Chines and North Korean communist regimes. Also, the failur eof thes regimes to improve the standard of living of their people, except for some of those that decided to abandon socialism and opt for a capitalist economy.economy.

  7. @ Bear Klein:
I agree with “To reduce terror further Israel needs to under take a large scale operation to destroy PA, PLO, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and all the terrorist supporters. Then Israel needs start pro active programs which provide financially incentive to have the Arabs move elsewhere.” Why does the world yammer at Israel when one terrorist dies, such that we’re afraid to destroy all of Hamas? But we must destroy the leaders of every terror group in Israel and Lebanon. That is a minimum. You hear it all the time, that a terrorist who is caught said he was taught this is what he is supposed to do – kill Jews. The incitement is everywhere in their mosques, schools and communities in their PA towns. Yes, we need to ship them out of Judea and Samaria, or there will never be peace.

  8. @ Bear Klein: I agree with all the points that you make, Bear, except that I believe that “incentivised immigration” is impractical because of the ferocity with which the “international community,” including Europe and possibly even the United States, would react to it. This reaction is predictable because of the international hysteria created by the coining of the term “ethnic cleansing” in 1993, and its subsequent adoption by the UN Security Council and the so-called “International Court of Justice.” While the world usually looks the other way at “ethnic cleansing” by most countries, in would not do so in the case of Israel, because of the terrible prejudice against it as a result of the massive international propaganda and diplomatic campaign against, funded by the United Nations, the EU, Russia and of course the Arabs and Iranians over the past 50-plus years. As a result, Israel’s ability to promote incentivized immigration, which the UN has defined as “ethnic cleansing” even when it is peaceful and voluntary, has been eliminated for the foreseeable future.

However, as I said before, all of your other suggestions are excellent ideas. Israel must defeat the terrorists militarily and imprison them all,and/ or kill all who do not surrender in battle, if terror is to be prevented. This is something that a competent and patriotic Israeli government, (which unfortunately we don’t have now because of the vast power of the pacifist Supreme Court) could explain and defend to the Western countries as a necessary measure to defend the country from armed aggression.

  9. @ adamdalgliesh:
You are correct the rape, murder and mutilation of Ori Ansbacher is a horrible crime. It is the latest such crime.

As long as Israel lives in close proximity (and intertwined) with Arabs and does not defeat them Israelis are vulnerable to such atrocities.

Israel’s modus operandi with the Pal/Arabs is primarily security (defensive) and police actions after the fact. It does do preventive capturing of terrorists based on intelligence and gathers them up regularly. This plus the wall have helped reduce the amount of terrorism from the level of the early 2000s with cafes and buses blowing up regularly.

To reduce terror further Israel needs to under take a large scale operation to destroy PA, PLO, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and all the terrorist supporters. Then Israel needs start pro active programs which provide financially incentive to have the Arabs move elsewhere. The less Arabs the less terror.

There have been about 100 years of terror acts by the Arabs against the Jews and Israelis now. The horrible snuffing out of the life of 19 year old Ori Ansbacher is just sad and destructive to her family and friends is the latest event. Will it lead it Israel to do what needs doing?

  10. @ adamdalgliesh:

    You write:

“I am going to keep after this story until I finally get a rise out of Israpundit readers and writers about it. The indifference to this atrocity on th epart of so many Jews both in Israel and the diaspora upsets me. It is an unhealthy sign for prospects for Israeli and Jewish survival.”

And who do you think you are talking about getting a “rise” out of somebody like me. That is such a childish position.

True you did not name me. Cowards do not name.

To give one example of the mentality of your good self you broke up the discussion on the issue of Global Warming and I can quote if you want, worked to kick that issue into the deep grass.

In the past you attacked Karl Marx or was it Marxism, but anyway when I asked you to prove what you meant, you scarpered.

I have no confidence in your integrity.

In any case stop your harangues. Just state your position. What is the solution to Jew Hatred in our world today? State YOUR position. Not copy and paste.

  11. FRom today’s Arutz Sheva:

    ‘This despicable terrorist must die’
MK Smotrich visits family of Ori Ansbacher, says she must be the last terror victim.

    Bezalel Smotrich
National Union chairman MK Bezalel Smotrich on Monday paid a condolence visit to the family of 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher, who was brutally murdered by a terrorist from Hevron last week.

Following the visit, Smotrich published a post on Facebook in which he called on the government to ensure that Ori is the last murder victim.

“We came out of a difficult and emotional visit at the home of the family of Ori Ansbacher, a strong and unique family. We heard all about Ori.”

“The message that has to come out of here is that Ori must be the last one and in order for Ori to be the last one, we must deter,” wrote Smotrich.

“This despicable terrorist must die, his home must be destroyed, and his family must be deported here and now, without the High Court and without B’Tselem. Simply because our lives come first.”

“I support the prime minister’s decision to at last bring before the Cabinet this Sunday the implementation of the law to offset the salaries of terrorists from the PA.”

“I call on him not to listen to the threats and intimidation of the security establishment, which unfortunately since the Oslo Accords has been dependent on the Palestinian Authority. This dependence of ours on the PA is dangerous for the State of Israel and its citizens. We do not need the PA and they will not threaten us,” declared Smotrich.

“If the PA collapses, let it collapse, we will take responsibility. A Palestinian Authority that incites to terrorism, which pays the salaries of terrorists, and then brings about more and more and more bereaved families and condolence visits, is not viable,” he concluded.

  12. I am going to keep after this story until I finally get a rise out of Israpundit readers and writers about it. The indifference to this atrocity on th epart of so many Jews both in Israel and the diaspora upsets me. It is an unhealthy sign for prospects for Israeli and Jewish survival. From today’s Arutz Sheva:

    Terror? No; ‘gender crime’
MK Aida Touma-Sliman claims Ori Ansbacher murder a heinous crime and shouldn’t stain struggle of ‘Palestinian people’.

    Touma-Sliman
MK Aida Touma-Sliman from the Joint Arab List asserts Ori Ansbacher was murdered and raped out of purely criminal motives.

“You have to call the crime by its name: The rape and murder of Ori Ansbacher is a crime on the basis of gender,” she wrote in her Twitter account.

“If the criminal is Palestinian it doesn’t make it less shocking; he cannot possibly be part of the struggle for national liberation.

“This government is the criminal when it uses Ori’s murder to continue tarnishing the struggle of the Palestinian people with a heinous crime committed by one person,” added the Arab Knesset member.

MK Robert Ilatov (Yisrael Beiteinu) responded to the words of Touma-Sliman: “Unfortunately, the State of Israel, which is dealing with terrorists who are trying to harm it from the outside, is also forced to deal with terrorists who try to harm it from within the Knesset. I suggest that MK Sliman look for another place to promote her destructive agendas,” said Ilatov.

“The terrorist said in his interrogation that he left the house with a knife in order to harm the Jews. I apologize to the dear Ansbacher family for having to hear the ordure coming from the mouths of Knesset Members in Israel.

“The representatives of the Arab leadership in the Knesset, Ayman Odeh and Ahmad Tibi, didn’t even bother to condemn the shocking murder. I have no doubt that you’re representatives of terrorist organizations and your place is in the parliament in Ramallah and not in the Knesset.”

Earlier today, members of the left-wing Tag Meir organization and Arabs from the Tekoa region arrived to console mourners at the Ansbacher home in Tekoa.
