Jordan moves military closer to border with Israel

Jewish towns report gunfire.

In an ominous sign of an expanding regional war, Jordan has been seen moving its army closer to the border with Israel.?Israeli towns along the Jordanian border have reported gunfire towards their communities from the Jordanian soldiers.

With the Hamas war raging and the potential for Israel’s North becoming engulfed with a war with Hezbollah, most have assumed that the Jordanian border would be trusted to remains silent.?This has not been the case. Not only have there been increased infiltration attempts from Jordan, the Jordanian military itself has taken aim at Israeli communities nearby.

The IDF has increased its presence in the area, including special forces with the aim of deterring a potential third front from opening up.

So with a lot to lose, why would King Abdullah attack Israel??While Abdullah is not aligned with Iran, he does have some reasons he may either allow pro-Iranian militias to utilize his territory or in fact order his troops to attack Israel themselves.

The king’s wife, Queen Rania has roots in Tulkarm and is considered a “palestinian.” She has questioned the October 7th pogroms and if anyone would want her husband to attack Israel – it would be her.

In addition to his wife, the Jordanian street, which is 80% “palestinian” has already demanded Jordan’s King do something against Israel. It is entirely conceivable that in order to save his crown and appease the majority of his population, he may in fact attempt an assault on Israel or at the very least allow other’s to attack from his territory.

In November, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said Israel has crossed “every legal, ethical, and humanitarian red line.” He has also criticized the selective application of international law. “If any other country in the world did a fragment of what Israel did, it would have sanctions imposed on it from every corner of the world,” he said at a security summit on Nov. 18. At a news conference on Monday, he said the events in Gaza “should be classified as genocide.”

This is despite the fact that Jordan itself regularly discriminates against its “palestinian” citizens. Jordan appears to be preparing at the very least an assault that will distract its populace from its own failings in an attempt to save the king’s head. After all it wasn’t too long ago that this same populace was ready to rebel and run the king and his family out of Amman permanently.

Just as in 1967, when the current king’s father miscalculated and attacked Israel – it appears that King Abdullah may once again do the same thing.<

  1. @Ted Belman, If Jordan did attack, (and like @Edgar, I don’t think they are very serious about it), could it activate the “Jordan Option”?

  2. According to all reports ..ALL, it is the US Military Intelligence who are in control n Jordan and they would not permit an attack on Israel

Most likely it is a political move which will go no further (perhaps a few poorly aimed rockets at max) to satisfy the Jew Hating Jordanians, and has US approval.

Besides Israel could might should cut off water and other benefits as well as pulverise the source of any areal attacks. Even being occupied by the Gaza War.

  3. Abdullah II must be on Qatar payroll, therefore all his military expenses, covering for repairs will be footed by Al Thani. He can launch an adventure against Israel just to look good to his people and calm down the spirits against him. He knows too israel will not look to unseat him so he plays on velvet

  4. @dreuvani

    He has nothing to gain.

What was there to be gained when this scion of British administrators came to bear false witness against Israel which began the May 2021 which saw the coordination of Hamas with Israeli Arabs. What was to be gained when he was caught smuggling gold and guns to the Islamist terrorists in Israel not even a year ago. The Hashemites are false friends, this is quite inherent in their families practices going back to the age in which Abdullah’s false ancestor of the same name betrayed his Jewish neighbors. This false nature is a flaw which came to present itself in every age and in each member of Abdullah’s ruling predecessors. In our current period, it should be noted that while you suggest that Abdullah has nothing to gain, you are ignoring the very great pressure which has been placed upon Jordan to reform and better the lives of his people by the US govt, without whose financial and military support, Abdullah would fall. Likewise, if Abdullah supports the reforms over his people, some 80% of whom are the very Pals who he daily subjugates and humiliates with abandon, he faces the same prospect. His only way out of his current position is to, like a man who finds himself caught in checkmate, to overturn the board entirely and find another outlet of support for his continued reign of terror in Jordan.

    Neither has Israel

As for Israel, I think you should read my comment below, or this one or this one, or this one. Israel has a need of an ally on its long border, one which offers a true alliance and a ready source of peace, prosperity, and cooperation, none of which is easily claimed to be true under the rule of Abdullah or any his line of scheming antisemitic antecedents.

If you disagree with something I have described here, perhaps you will take the time to explain how you think I am in error.

  5. To see an end to the old conceptions which have blooded and betrayed Israel and the region, we must finally seek an end to the Hashemite rule in Jordan.

This line of foreign usurpers, who have weaponized the Jordanian people even as they have subjugated and deprived them, abused its Jewish neighbors without cause or reason, and betrayed its treaty obligations with a recklessly routine pattern, is entirely Israel’s enemy. They have been a scourge upon the region and a constant threat to peace. Indeed, the persistence of the Hashemites in their position is a very strong thread which held the old conceptions in place. It is time to pull that thread, eliminate their threat, and replace it with a strong ally, one whose values and goals are both commiserate and complimentary rather than contrary and antithetical to Israel’s existence.

Change is in the wind, and much which was accepted to accommodate the old conceptions must no longer be seen as acceptable. Hence, the age of tolerating the Islamist tyrant in Amman must come to a rapid and permanent end, and hopefully soon. In truth, if we did not have a man with the constancy and values of Mudar to replace the false ally Abdullah, we would need to choose between the villain Abdullah and some unknown quantity. Luckily, Mudar has consistently demonstrated his good faith to both Israel and the truth about the true oppression which has been waged against his people which emanated from the very same illegitimate kingship which illegally stripped the Jordanian citizenship from millions of Pals just to weaponize their stateless status against Israel. I am looking forward to seeing the day which this vital element of the old conception finally comes to an end and for a new page in Israeli history replace it while fulfilling commitments to peace, responsibility, and reciprocally allied interests. May that this day will come soon as it can not come soon enough!
