Peloni: Schanzer is absolutely correct. The response to the slaughtered hostages must be the same as the response to the slaughtered from October 7. The US and Israel must both focus on the problem which is centered in Tehran. Notably, the US simply wants Israel to capitulate, but the problem will not be resolved with an Israeli surrender – it will in fact get far worse and irrevocably more impossible to resolve.

Americans will wake up today & learn that Hamas murdered another 6 Israeli hostages, including one American-Israeli whose story was highlighted at the DNC.
Some thoughts to follow that will *not* focus on the heartbreak/trauma in Israel.
Let’s focus on who bears responsibility.

I disagree. If the culprits of this crime are encountered they should not be taken prisoner. The extension of court room trials for such cases as with Eichmann should only be pursued if it is deemed to have a clear and evident benefit to the State of Israel. BG had an interest in holding such a trial with Eichmann, and so it was done, but there was no basis for extending Israeli Justice to that monster as if he had simply run a red light, or even murdered his wife. His was a crime so great that no remedy could account for his culpability.
Still, BG felt the trial would be important, and so they tried him and hanged him, but if it were possible I would have hung him both before and after the trial. If it were possible I would have hanged him a thousand times and still there would be no justice in having done so instead of having executed him back in Argentina. The same would be true of the monsters who crossed the border of the Otef, who beat, abused, raped, pillaged and stole our people. There can be no justice for the likes of these even if the court would find them all guilty, and sentence them all to death, and let us not forget the courts which would be trying them would be in one fashion or another connected to the same Judicial monarchy which has led to injustice being the rule of law in Israel so long as it is deemed reasonable to the internationally influenced High Court. So extending them a forum in which to ply their hatred into the future would not even guarantee the end to which you already acknowledge they should receive.
Hence, let us be frank and honest, they deserve no trial and providing them such a false construct, we run the gambit of providing them a forum in which the world opinion might be ever more significantly swayed against the Jewish people. Hang them, shoot them, or dispatch them in whatever manner seems most efficient or reasonable when they are encountered, but let us not arrest them like they are criminals, and let us not judge them like they are men. They are monsters, born, raised and weaponized in the image of their Nazi idols, so let us treat them like we should have treated the Nazis had we had a chance, and simply eradicate them from the earth.
Of course, this is just my own view such as it is.
The murderers of the six hostages, if caught should be tried and receive the death penalty. There is provision for this under Israeli law. These murders were a “crime against humanity,” which under Israel’s laws under which Eichman was tried, are punishable by death.
