  1. “Israeli law bars the permanent transfer of any part of Eretz Israel and defines doing so as treason…”

    Regrettably, not quite so, Davidka.

Actually the wording is “any part of land to be removed from the sovereignty of the country” — NOT from “Eretz Israel.”

“Israel’s giveaway of Gaza and much of Judea and Samaria is not only immoral, anti-Jewish and suicidal, but [also] treason.”

    Immoral, anti-Jewish and suicidal, yes.

However, until the Govt of Israel unambiguously asserts Israeli sovereignty over Y/S/A, the legal designation of ‘treason’ will simply not be applicable to any relinquishing of the territories.

THE DEFINITION OF TREASON ACCORDING TO ISRAELI LAW:

In article B. of the penal code, entitled: “Treason”, clause 97 is entitled:

“Harming the sovereignty of the country or its wholeness”.

    From clause 97:

    (a) Any person who committed an act with the intention of harming the sovereignty of the country, an act which may cause harm to the sovereignty of the country, shall be sentenced to death or life in prison.

    (b) Any person who intentionally allowed any part of land to be removed from the sovereignty of the country or added to the sovereignty of another country, an act which will bring to that, shall be sentenced to death or life in prison.

All of this should be on the Knesset’s website, at least in the original Hebrew.

  3. Israeli law bars the permanent transfer of any part of Eretz Israel and defines doing so as treason, with penalties up to and including execution. Israel’s giveaway of Gaza and much of Judea and Samaria is not only immoral, anti-Jewish and suicidal, but treason.

    Actually Israel did annex Jerusalem

Not only did Israel annex Jerusalem and the Golan, we reinforced the annexation with the following law passed last year against the wishes of BB. When he saw there was a majority for the law he said he was in favor.

Knesset passes Jerusalem-Golan referendum law by absolute majority

The Knesset passed the National Referendum Law during a late-night session Monday, approving legislation that will make it more difficult for Israeli negotiators to cavalierly sign away the Golan Heights or parts of Jerusalem. The law, approved by a vote of 65-33, will now require either a Knesset super-majority or a national referendum to transfer any annexed territories as part of a future peace deal. Because Judea and Samaria have not been annexed, the new law would not apply to the “West Bank.”

“A law like this will prevent irresponsible accords in the future, and on the other hand, will allow governments to pass with strong public support any agreement that will answer Israel’s national interests,” Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said in support of the legislation.

The prime minister added that he was convinced that any accord that he would bring would get this backing. Before the bill was passed, Peace Now vowed it would appeal the law to the High Court of Justice, arguing that it was unconstitutional. The achievement of the absolute majority of 65 MKs in the 120 seat Knesset was thus an important mark of legislative legitimacy.
