  1. @Honeybee Perish the thought. But, maybe Russia could restore order. 😀

“A part of Sweden from the 12th century until 1809, Finland was then a Russian grand duchy until, following the Russian Revolution, the Finns declared independence on December 6, 1917.”

  2. Italy’s government ‘open’ to supplying Ukraine with air defense systems

Rome is ready to provide Ukraine with a variety of air-defense systems, an Italian coalition official said on Tuesday.

Meloni is not interested in ending the ground war in Ukraine. She only has an interest in ending, or at least curbing, the sanctions war against Russia. We’ll see how her supporters respond to this, and their response, or the lack of it, will tell the real truth about how much resistance to the Ukraine war exists among her supporters.

  3. Sebastien, I have read that Finnish authorities are alarmed that American Armaments are showing up in Finland among “right-wing” gangs.

  4. I just see rainbow flags and no readable signs. The rainbow flag is the LGTBQ flag. Are these video clips genuine?

    Though the info is accurate.

“Thousands in Italy march for peace in Ukraine”

“The peace rally was attended by some 30,000 people, Rome police told Italian media.

“The weapons were sent at the beginning on the grounds that this would prevent an escalation,” demonstrator Roberto Zanotto told AFP.

“Nine months later and it seems to me that there’s been an escalation. Look at the facts: sending weapons does not help stop a war, weapons help fuel a war.”

Student Sara Gianpietro said the conflict was being dragged out by arming Ukraine, which “has economic consequences for our country, but for the respect of human rights too”.

The Group of Seven foreign ministers, including Italy, on Friday vowed to continue supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russia.”

I find videos annoying unless they are interviews. That’s the entire content of this video in a paragraph, an exact quote. Thy might have lifted it from France24!

  5. Meloni’s position in support of Ukraine has been described for some time now as contrasting with that of many of her supporters. It certainly did not impede her election victory, of course. That being said, this protest taking place as a 6th shipment of arms to Ukraine is being arranged by Meloni’s govt, just weeks after its formation, should not go unnoticed. Meloni has identified herself as an Atlantacist, a firm supporter and advocate of NATO while holding a more measured view on the NATO economic war against Russia. Recall that as the NATO govt’s are sending military aid to Ukraine, they are simultaneously sending increased revenues to Russia. The sources of that increased revenue is partially presented in the black market purchase of oil from Greek shippers, part of which ships to the geographically near ports of Italy. So arms going to Ukraine and radically increased gas/oil payments going to Russia. Meloni, unlike those supporters objecting to her position of supporting Ukraine, wants to draw back the sanctions, thus reduce the price of oil and help reduce the spiraling inflation affecting her people. Another approach to affect this same outcome is to expand the oil shipments from Libya or Israel/Greece/Cyprus. The problem with these alternates to Russian gas is their limited supply, and Meloni knows this, which is no doubt why she is calling for the economic war against Russia to be tapered down, even while she continues to support the war to fight to the last Ukrainian on the battlefield.
