ISRAPUNDIT HAS BEEN HACKED OR SOMETHING

By Ted Belman
On Jan 7/20, someone , somehow, deleted 26,000 posts from the beginning up to and including Jan 6/20 .
Luckily my host had a backup from Jan 1/20. On my instructions, they installed it on Friday. Thus all posts after Jan 1/20 were lost. I started posting last night.
But a problem remains, namely, Israpundit can take up to 10 minutes to load. So to do any post is very time consuming. I hope to have that problem cleared up on Monday. Until then my posts will be very limited.
Thanks for your understanding.

  1. @ Ted Belman:

Thank you for the info., which reverses my original understanding…… I was beginning to think that you might need Rochel Sylvetsky for future highlights…….Or, maybe. when talking about having backups, COMPUTER LINGO begins from the last item backed up, and reverses to the beginning., meaning the opposite of what I assumed.

Was I the only one who didn’t know?….if so, why did someone not post and inform me? I’m slowly learning….at least to be cautious about “computers-peak”

  2. All posts between inception and Jan 1/20 were recovered using a backup. So I am missing all posts from Jan1 to jan 9/20. are lost. I then reposted two or three of those posts as they were applicable to the jORDAN oPTION.

Unfortunately the site soesn’t load quickly or barely at all.

I am hoping it will be cleared up before Tuesday.

  3. Ted, I just wish to point out that when I tried to boot up Israpundit yesterday, I got a message from Safari warning me that someone may be imitating the site, and what I was receiving might not be the authentic Israpundit site and advising me not to go to it. The screen said I could still go to Israpundit if I was willing to take the risk. But when I then tried to go to the Israpundit site, it wouldn’t come on the screen. A few hours later it did come up, but with the screen of some weeks back.

Al this just a titre d’information as you try to research what went wrong and to prevent it from happening again. I know nothing of internet technology, and don’t know what my experience yesterday means. But maybe your tech person can learn something from it.

    THIS POST IS FOR TED….

Your report is a bit confusing But I’m taking it that you (Ted) mean that all posts (from Israpundit inception) BEFORE Jan 1st 2020 are lost..? If so, that is, for us, a disaster of historic proportions…

The timing seems similar to my described problems TED. They cleared up, incidentally just yesterday… 3 days ago,I got the McAfee AntiVirus Company to deleted themselves from my computer, and then had my Internet suppliers (who include McAfee in their package) to re-install it. It still gave the same problems for 2 days, but surmountable as I described, until yesterday, when I noticed it had completely cleared up.

I’m wondering if, by accident, when the McAfee guys were deleting their AntiVirus from my computer they accidentally became interlinked with Israpundit It seems to have been around the same day. They actually brought up Israpundit a few times so as to confirm that they also were having the same problems as I .

I inferred from you TED, that no other poster was having the problems that I was. Are there any other members in my area. Might be interesting for you to contact them and ask..?
