Israel’s future is secure with its youth

A large majority of Hebrew-speaking Israeli Jews ages 15-18 intend to enlist in the Israel Defense Forces, a Midgam Research Institute poll found.

The online poll, which surveyed a representative sample of 501 young Israelis, found that 76 percent intend to enlist. Broken down by gender, 92% of males and 60% of females said they intend to join the IDF. Only 10% of all respondents said they do not plan to serve in the IDF.

The results of the poll were presented in conjunction with the opening of the Zionist Youth Congress in Gush Etzion, an initiative of the Zionist Council in Israel and the World Zionist Organization.

Some 70% of respondents self-identified as Zionists.

An overwhelming majority of respondents — 85% — said they were unwilling to give up parts of Jerusalem, even in exchange for real peace with the Palestinians.

I think blasmpheming against a Jew boils down to the same thing. Not saying you have done that, but there are certainly other christians who have been on this site who have

Thanks for your candor in stating what you like and don’t. It takes awhile for any person to familiarize himself/herself to a new environment. From the way others are dealing with each other on this website, I am getting something useful. I know it is not easy to always agree in politics/religious issues. Out of sensitivity for most of you on this website, I did not want to defend Christianity as on other religious or non-religious websites (I think this forum was not meant for such stuff). I am very much surprised to see religious discussions on this website. I donot mind if anyone criticizes about anything (be it politics, religion, etc. without resorting to personal attacks)as I like challenges. If every person always tells me something I just want to hear instead of what I need to hear, there will be no room for improvement (which is essential for life). Thanks again for your positive attitude and forthrightness!!! 🙂

At first glance, I thought you were as serious as I first found you and took your comment very seriously. I hope you will remain as gentle as You had been (if not that doesn’t bother me at all). I started posting on this website with a good intention (no intention to offend anyone but I donot expect everybody to agree with me 100% of the time on everything as we were uniquely created and have a different background). As we have a lot of things in common (we can freely criticize anything we disagree with without personal attacks), let us forget about trivial stuff. Thanks.

There are also some things that are unforgivable. In your religion you would call it blasmpheming against the Holy Spirit. I think blasmpheming against a Jew boils down to the same thing. Not saying you have done that, but there are certainly other christians who have been on this site who have.

  4. @ honeybee:

    Quelle post!!

God, this turns out to be another ‘Harris birthday’…
    Ok,

I sent you a random link I found when I typed guutuu.
It showed a picture ofthis 70ish y.o. “General guutuu” wearing a Muslim head cover and a looooong dissertation in I don’t know which language. (Ethiopian?)
    To that, you answered that

Thanks enjoyed the article althogh the author seemed to unfamiliar with proper syntax of the language.

Since for all intents and purposes, that text was gibberish (to those that do not speak that language) I found your comment to be really funny, and I commented as such.

Speed forward in time. Our resident hobo checks into the library to do his usual shhhhhstuff.
In his inimitable style to jump to defend the ones who were wronged on the forum.. (hmmmm…. let’s see now, what common denominator may be shared by these two?…. Could it be that they both are Christians trying to sell their wares on a Jewish blog site?…. Naaah! Chuck it to paranoia… 🙂 )

So now, our hobo was sending a sarcastic barb at ME while addressing it to you….
    It would be as if

Didn’t you recognize “Come to me, my melancholy baby”?

he,the mystique par excellence, has deciphered through that gibberish to be MY message to YOU….

Dollars to doughnuts, there will be a sequel to this nonesense…. As soon as the library on the west coast (San Francisco? in all likelihood?) will be opened to strays….

    Have a good walk, hb!

Last night I watched Simon Shama’s PBS program ,” The History of the Jews”. So much better to see your young people training to protect themselves and Israel then being helplessly slaughtered!!!!

Did you ever watch the cartoon of the “Coyote and the Road Runner”?. On this blog your either the coyote or the roadrunner at any given time.

Ignore us!!!!! Everyone on this blog wants to be a comedienne!!!! Except dweller who makes failed attempts to be an intellectual.

  9. @ dweller:

Regardless of which path you choose, however, you’ll always be welcome here — in MY book

    Why stop there?
Why did you skip the ‘with open loving arms to ease your pain’ part? 😉

I’ll just bring to your attention my little hobo, that after all the dust has settled, your new christian friend still managed to not answer a simple innocent question.

Many commenters have a handle which is a combination of letters and numbers significant to them. Nothing wrong with that and no big deal.

If you dwellerize the exchange, you will see that ignoring hb’s question, (which followed my ‘bellowing’ comments #6&8) and keeping the conversation away from that area is an effort to divert attention by one whose cover was blown.
I say again, yidvocate was right, and i just dont fee like having ‘watered down soup’ as he put it.

    They’re children.

Partially right, but they are at their physical peak and can best be trained to kill as a second nature. To their parents they are children but to everyone one else they are the human wall between life and death of the rest of us.

After 3 years not withstanding how they entered the service they come out as men in every respect but you have never had their experience. Cowards like you hide behind children like these.

“Thanks enjoyed the article althogh the author seemed too unfamiliar with proper syntax of the language.”

Your linguistic skills must be getting rusty, HB.

Didn’t you recognize “Come to me, my melancholy baby”?

“Yes, they are beautiful and also look alike.”

“LOOK ALIKE????? Excuuuuuuuuse me ? there is something VERY wrong with this picture… I reneg on my ‘welcoming comments’…”

“I sense that I might have offended you in my comments inadvertently.”

    Ignore his bellowings.

He lives a hair-trigger existence, perpetually calibrated to provide him the readiest occasion for judgment.

It seems that phoenix needs to spend a certain amount of time being upset over one thing or another — and if it weren’t about you, it would be about somebody else. Right now, you’re handy.

At this point, you’re expected to grovel, and protest your harmless intentions, from time immemorial, world without end — while twisting yourself into a pretzel and flagellating yourself for your hopeless ‘insensitivity,’ blah-ged-a, blah-ged-a, blah-ged-a, etc, etc. (‘Gag me with a spoon,’ as they used to say.)

Another option is to tell him (and anybody else inclined to make you run this asinine gauntlet) to go pound sand — and then, forever thereafter, spend your every minute online here defending your right to express an opinion.

Or you can just say what you think, and let the chips fall where they may.

Regardless of which path you choose, however, you’ll always be welcome here — in MY book.

  13. @ AbbaGuutuu:

I can only speak for myself. I have been on the front lines with Israel since Desert Storm. Sometimes when someone repeatedly has ‘suggestions’ it’s like an insult. I grow weary sometimes with the enormity of the situation.

  14. dove Said:

o.k. forgiven. Even if I went by your standards I only have to do that 7 x 70 times. Trust me, it doesn’t take long to use it up.

Thank you very much. That is the highest standard to meet within one day (I guess). I will take precautions as much as humanly possible not to use all up! I wish to know what really transpired in order to take more precautions.

Please accept my sincere apology for simply and unintentionally offending you! In case I get time for additional comments on this website, your advice as to what to avoid would be very much helpful. Thanks a lot for your time and responses.

    Yidvocate was right!

To be frank with you I have not obfuscated anything. What makes you to say so?
I make or respond to a comment to the best of my ability. Could someone misunderstand me? It is possible.

. Since I speak in more than 2 languages, have I misused some words?

I am certain that most of those who comment here speak more than two languages. (I happen to know one that is fluent in five)
Nonetheless, WHY the apparent need to obfuscate all of a sudden?
    Yidvocate was right!

  19. @ AbbaGuutuu:
Honeybee’s question was VERY DIRECT AND STRAIGHTFORWARD.
why the need to evade an answer?
(Fwiw, my bs-meter just kicked in… Just sayin’)

  20. honeybee Said:

We jews all look alike HANDSOME and BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! Like you and me.
