Israel to delay strike on Iran until after US elections?

I object to Obama coming to Israel. Its just politics and many Jews will be impressed. Not me. If Netanyahu agreed to this, what did he get in return? Just the bunker bombs or inflight refueling or did he ask for no pressure in the second term. Ted Belman

Israel will only strike Iranian nuclear facilities in September or after the United States presidential elections in November, a White House official told the British Sunday Times newspaper after a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama last week.

According to the report, Obama has taken Israel’s warnings about a possible strike in Iran very seriously. The Washington source added that the president “might visit in the summer to reassure the Israelis that the US commitment to defend Israel is unshakable and thus thwart a possible autumn attack.”

Obama insisted that any attack on Iran should be postponed until after the US presidential elections in November, possibly even until next spring. The source revealed that Netanyahu consented to delaying a strike, but wished to know until when. “The question is how much time,” he reportedly said.

The White House source added that Netanyahu presented a number of demands Iran must fulfill in order to avoid an Israeli attack, including transferring 150 kilograms (330 pounds) of enriched uranium to a third party, stopping the enrichment process at the Fordow site near Qom and ceasing any further enrichment beyond the 3.5% required for power generation.

The source reported that Israel’s National Security Advisor Yaakov Amidror presented US administration and military officials with new intelligence data about Iran’s nuclear program. The findings included “Project 111,” a project to develop an intercontinental ballistic missile warhead and conduct large-scale high-explosive experiments, the Sunday Times reported. Amidror also noted that a Russian expert in Tehran had been involved for the past six years in helping develop Iran’s nuclear program.

Israel rejected US claims that any official order from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to develop a nuclear bomb would soon reach them.

In the meeting, one Israel official told the Americans: “We’ll not know beforehand about such an order, you’ll not know, and probably Allah himself will not know. The time we’ll know for sure is when we wake up to a nuclear test.”

  1. I cannot and will not believe that Israel would follow Obama’s demands to wait until it is too late. I cannot even express my disappointment(what ‘s a word way stronger than disappointment?) maybe being appalled, even stronger than that, if Israel would wait. I do not believe for a second that money would be more important to any Israeli than the survival of the country. Of course, I find it difficult to believe that about Americans, but it is , sometimes true here not only with the leftist population, but with congress. HOwever, the survival of the country is more imminent for Israel. We must be strong and fight back NOW!

    While it is probably true that Obama leads with women, it is not nearly by such a lopsided margin. If women are going to be so stupid as to not pay attention to the issues and allow themselves to be manipulated once again by the democrats, then they get what they deserve.     First of all Palin has wide swaths of support among conservatives. She draws huge crowds. The Georgetown fluzy infringed upon the religious rights of the Catholic university that she CHOSE to attend by demanding they provide her with free contraceptives, which goes against their fundamental beliefs. The Obama administration brought this issue into the public forum by mandating religious institutions provide free birth control, thereby violating the constitution. Naturally democrats and liberals turned the issue completely on its head and accused conservatives of being the ones infringing upon the rights of women. Liberals need to understand that they cannot on one hand tell people to stay out of their bedrooms and at the same time demand taxpayers or religious institutions must subsidize their sexual activity.

    I have had the experience of seeing and hearing Presidents in the US, but anything like this one, truly I have never seen or though I would see, not even in my darkest nightmares.
    And while at it, if that is what the so called Jewish community there to the count of 80% found as their hope as a leader, well… what can one say.
    Having said that. You are correct on that the other democrats… I mean the Republican party fellows seem determined to not being elected for the post.
    Mrs. Palin in turn, can and probably will defeat Soetoro or whatever other name he may post, w/o a problem. Like many of us she is not interested in joining the MSM slaughter house.
    As to the 30 year old lass student at Georgetown. I believe she is entitled to use her body as she feels and chooses. Or for that matter allow others to use her as well. Now. Having said that, may I add that I take exception to the fact that she and others like her feel that the rest of the taxpayers must pony up for her or their urges?
