The Plan gives Israel about 30% of Judea and Samaria, including the Jordan Valley and the blocs, and permits Israel to extend Israel law to these lands. As sovereign, Israel can develope these lands as it pleases.
In exchange, Israel has agreed to freeze or hold the rest in trust for a potential Arab statelet for 4 years only.
The arabs have this much time to accept such a state providing they do a number of things: demilitarize the future state including Gaza, recognize Israel as nation state of the Jews, stop incitement and payments to terrorist, to name a few.
It is a fabulous deal for Israel because it allocates 30% of the land to Israel sovereignty now. The rest she must hold in trust for 4 years to give that much of a window for the Arabs to meet all the conditions demanded of them. After the 4 years, Israel will be able to do what they want with the rest if the Arabs have failed to meet the conditions.
@ Raphael:
I changed the 40 to 30. Thanks.
@ Rondo:
Personally I’m trying to see the downside of this. In four years the intransigent PLO and Hamas are not going to be capable of changing public opinion – a public opinion they have systematically developed (there are those who say brainwashed) for decades. So, on one hand, there are all the outward appearances of a serious openness to Arab acceptance to coexistence. Yet the actual chances of them accepting it is less than winning the Irish Sweepstakes! What is wrong with this. It appears to be a very positive strategic move.
Ultimately, after four years, whatever solution that is developed for the Arab residents of Judea and Samaria will dramatically improve their quality of life when compared to the reality of being manipulated and exploited by the thugs currently controlling their lives.
I read the official White House announcement of the “Deal”, and did not see a word about 40% of the land going to Israel now, with a 4-year waiting period, to see if the palestinians might actually create a peaceable state in the remaining 60% of land.
That’s actually not a bad plan, but of course, the palestinians will never accept it. Everybody knows that, but the charade must be played out. Interestingly, the end of the 4-year waiting period would roughly coincide with the end of Trump’s second 4-year term.
It is never easy to see into the future, except where the palestinians are concerned. They will never settle with Israel, so Israel needs to use the time wisely, to consolidate the areas necessary for security, and the settlement blocks, before taking on the tougher job of trying to govern wild asses of people in the remainging 60% of the land.

Sharon’s Jordan is Palestine gave way then to Gaza is Palestine, one failure after another.
No arms to terrorists. There should be laws prohibiting the sale of offensive weapons or any weapons to terrorists. If there are any they must be enforced to the fullest. Those caught selling arms to terrorists should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, including Congressmen and women, no lame excuses accepted.
It should be emphasized that this plan will certainly not create an acceptable State of Palestine

Posit:
So, why bother to appease a moment further since any concession will be converted to weapons of war.
Sharon arranged for a project ‘Palestinian State’ in Jordan.
Morton Zuckerman, the philanthropist publisher pundit bought the Gaza greenhouses and gave them to Gazans for their dream state. The greenhouses were immediately destroyed and turned into rocket launch pads.
The cement needed desperately for infrastructure was diverted to building tunnels to ferry contraband and armed terrorists into Israel.
So, the strategy boomeranged, try something new.
Obviously Israel will accept this plan.
It is key and critical that it be written in such a way that any future US administration must not be able to subvert or throw it out willy nilly.
It should be assumed that at some time in the future that a US administration may adopt the toxic policy positions of the so called “squad”.
I am not worried because the people who have developed this plan are so sincere about protecting Israel, are meticulous to have thought through every syllable.

Bingo!
Prof. Moshe Sharon explains how to negoatiate with Arabs.

@ Rondo:
Sadly, history tends to suggest that you are correct.
Prof. Moshe Sharon
“The veteran expert on Islam says that Western officials fail to grasp that the Arab and Islamic world truly see Israel’s establishment as a “reversal of history” and are therefore unable to ever accept peaceful relations with it. From Moslems’ perspective, “Islamic territory was taken away from Islam by Jews. You know by now that this can never be accepted, not even one meter. So everyone who thinks Tel Aviv is safe is making a grave mistake. Territory which at one time was dominated by Islamic rule, now has become non-Muslim. Non-Muslims are independent of Islamic rule and Jews have created their own independent state. It is anathema. Worse, Israel, a non-Muslim state, is ruling over Muslims. It is unthinkable that non-Muslims should rule over Muslims.”

I have no idea whether the Arabs will accept the offer given but I’m inclined to belive that they won’t. The Arabs have always made it very clear that what they want is the destruction of Israel and the takeover of our country. This they’ll never get and it’s unlikely that they’ll do anything but continue in their attempts in their hateful, ugly manner.
