Israel Bowed Again

Peloni:  Perhaps Iran will respond, thus providing a second opportunity for Israel to respond in such a way that the Iranian regime is significantly crippled, but this was clearly not the road chosen in this attack.  It was a missed opportunity to destabilize the regime.  Or so I would argue.

So what do others think?

  1. It doesn’t happen often that the comments are more interesting than the article.
For those putting their hopes on Putin, please remember that the modern day Palestinians were an invention of the KGB.
We all know that Trump wants peace. However, he also wants to sell USA energy to Europe. That could and would be aided if the Iranians stopped selling their oil to one and all. A bunch of destroyed oil-wells in Iran would help, we all know what Trump thinks of the climate issue.
We need to continue to connect the dots we can see and hope that more will become visible…

Yes, I understood the reference you were making, and I appreciate your input as always.

Regarding your contention about the Abraham Accords, like all treaties, they must be constantly assessed as to their continued value to the relative parties. This being stated, the AA will not be situated in a vacuum. They will instead become the basis upon which the IMEC will be built around, and the success or failure of this endeavor will very much impact the future viability of the AA. So too will the enacted visionary reforms put forward by the likes of MBS and Mudar Zahran in the respective nations which will need to support the success of the IMEC. The future stability of the region requires a continued pursuit of these objectives, and the enactment of these endeavors will in turn lead to an Israel-inclusive security arrangement with the AA nations. So, the creation of the AA, while it should always be reassessed as to its relevance and usefulness, is just the first block in what is hoped will be a much more secure and stable Middle East.

  3. Peloni, my comment below referred to your comment further below…

As for your comment above, as I said ‘way below, the story isn’t over yet. Either way, the results of the US election will produce “an effect” of sorts.

I’ll say no more about this…

  4. Peloni, I agree wholeheartedly with you. As Ted has placed on his Israpundit heading, “There is no diplomatic solution.” Any talk on the latter is what I call “lawyer talk”; all talk, no substance.
How do I know this, you ask? Because the Koran says it and with great emphasis on the Jews. And having said this, the Abraham Accords may sound like a great idea, but I would keep a close eye on the various participants… always.

  5. It seems to me that Netanyahu chose the timing of this retaliatory attack very carefully. He has demonstrated that Israel is capable of taking out any site of its choosing inside Iran. The Ayatollah is praying to Allah and the Democrats that the pro-Iran Harris/Walz ticket can steal the 2024 election. Freedom lovers around the world are praying that the pro-Israel Trump/Vance ticket prevails. The world is waiting and watching to see what happens because this is the most consequential election for America and the free world since America’s founding. For freedom lovers war is always the last resort, but freedom requires the iron will to fight for freedom when necessary. Donald Trump is Israel’s best American friend, but ultimately Israel must fight to win this war with or without the aid of the United States.

  6. @Peloni I was holding out one last hope for peace, if only a slim one. If I read you right, you believe that the Russians will not be able to influence the Iranians, and that the Iranians for their part have only one immutable goal or desire, to destroy Israel. If these are both absolutely true, then war is inevitable, if not a necessity. Ecclesiastes 3:8 says there is a time for war and a time for peace. If this is the time for war, then let it come, and may G_d fight for His nation, Israel.

  7. I get the feeling that Bibi traded Hezollah for Iran for now.

Biben did not try to stop Bibi from sending tanks to Beirut.

The broblemis that Bibi didn’t have to do do Iran now. He could have waited two weeks.

This may be labeled heresy, but perhaps Israel should take Putin up on his offer.

    No, they should not.

Heresy is the violation of a belief system, but what you are suggesting here is a violation of logic, not belief. There should be no mistake that the Iranians mean to destroy Israel, full stop. Their adherence to this edict is not negotiable, it is not debatable, and it is not deniable…it is simply a fact – a well established, well documented certain fact. So when you suggest that Iran might be mollified by Russia into backing down, you are not providing a break with the belief that Iran will only accept Israel’s destruction, but rather you are breaking with the fact that Iran will only accept Israel’s destruction. There is no possibility that anything might change if a moderate Iranian president will be elected next week, or if a parliamentary shift will moderate any tolerance for the Jewish state, because the power is held among the mullahs, and the mullahs are not, and never will be, accepting of Israel’s existence. So, instead, what you are advocating here is that we pretend that the Iranians might be manipulated into accepting something which their radical ideology forbids, all while recognizing that these radicals are religious zealots who are looking to bring about an armegedonist type event so that their beloved Madhi might return. Should we dupe ourselves into accepting such a Hudna as being less deceitful than it could only be, we would ourselves be condemning the Jewish state, and the Jews of the world to a very cruel and limited future while the Mullahs would be given another bite at the apple of Israel’s destruction. There can be no negotiation with barbarians, with those who simply want to make war on the world, which is why Churchill refused any negotiation with Hitler, even as it appeared that he had little choice but to consider doing so, save the reality of the savagery which Hitler represented. If anything, Israel faces a far more stark set of savages among the Mullahs than Churchill did among the Germans.

As was true of Hamas, as is true of Hezbollah, it is true of Iran. Either Israel will see these barbarians utterly vanquished, or it will spell the end of Israel’s existence. Quite simply, these radical Islamists want Israel destroyed while Israel wants to survive, so there would appear painfully little for which to negotiate.

    Additionally, you say that

War should always be the last resort.

To this I would reply that with regards to the Mullah’s regime in Iran, war is in fact the only resort. The nonsense that ideologies can not be defeated must be shown to be false, and the Mullahs regime must be eliminated with extreme prejudice for all to see. Such a thing should not be left to Israel to achieve, because the blight which the Mullahs are pursuing against Israel and the Jews is but a splinter of what they anticipate for the world, and with their growing oil sales, their significant missile technology and their emerging nuclear program, they have all the means of seeing these pursuits made real against the world. It appears that Israel is the only power which has the sense to recognize this fact and possibly act on it, but the debt of dealing with this problem is owed by the world.

So regardless of what Putin states, regardless of what the US demands, and regardless of what Iran might ‘agree to accept’, the existential threat emanating from Iran must not be brought to a parlay, but instead their rule must be brought to an end, and the sooner this might be achieved, the better the entire world will be for having seen it achieved.

  9. All are telling Israel OHHH no Israel you should not do that….No no Israel that is bad, don’t do that…….

NONE OF YOU BIG MOUTHS ARE LOUDLY ADMITTING THAT IT IS IRAN

FUNDING WARFARE WORLDWIDE AND IRAN NEEDS

    GOVERNMENTAL OBLITERATION !

Come on you talkers……BLAME IRAN AND SAY SO

    Eddie

  10. Well, it surely looks like Israel bowed again.
However we don’t have all the information that Israeli PM has.
Israel is very dependent on America militarily.

The precision munitions work with the American sattelilite guidance. Should Israel do something against America’s wishes America can just turn off access to the sattellite codes. Then the precision will be limited to that of Google Maps.

Additionally to reach Iran, Israel has to fly through Iraqi airspace controlled by Americans. It is possible that Israeli planes started from American bases in Iraq.

The point is that without America Israel is much weaker and may not be in the position to take on Iran.

  11. Yes, the hour is late, and there seems no alternative but to enter into a full scale war with Iran. It has gotten to the point, however, where it also seems that some people actually want war. This is wrong. No one should ever want war. Peace should be pursued at all times.

I just happened to see that a week ago, Vladimir Putin offered to mediate between Iran and Israel. This may be labeled heresy, but perhaps Israel should take Putin up on his offer. Although Russia does have an obvious bias, it is just possible that they could help the situation. Putin and Netanyahu have had a good relationship in the past, and I think Putin would be an honest broker. There would also be this advantage…that if Biden tries to leverage Israel into backing off its wars with Hamas and Hezbollah, by withholding arms, Netanyahu could turn toward the Russians, which would give them credibility and be yet another blow to US prestige. And who knows, maybe the Russians can influence the Iranians into a more moderate position. In other words, there are potential benefits to engaging the Russians and finding out what they are willing, or able, to do. Israel should search for peace while it may be found. War should always be the last resort.

  12. I suspect that there will be a few to and fro attacks on Iran and against Israel lulling the enemy into acceptance of the situation.

One day, when Israel is properly armed, the right munitions the IAF will suddenly divert it’s flight path, and go for the nuclear facilities.

    My opinion only.

  13. In any war the most critical issue is the supply line, and I think Israel’s biggest challenge today is getting resupplied. I don’t think Israel bowed to Biden, I think Israel is dispensing retaliation according to a measured calculation that includes the U.S. presidential election on November 5th.

  14. Netanyahu stated “We are changing the strategic reality in the Middle East.”

I believe that means Israel has crippled Iran’s air defenses which were meant to protect their nuclear sites. This was the just first step in going after the nuclear sites.

Iran had several secret, fortified sites for mixing materials needed for missile production. One underground facility used by the IRGC in Syria was destroyed on 9/9/24 by an Israeli ground unit. Iran is now unable to replenish its ballistic missile stockpile.

Israel destroyed 20 Vertical Planetary Batch Mixers essential for manufacturing solid rocket fuel, in various locations inside Iran last night.

Israel is diligently pursuing her aim of taking Iran off the board of military and strategic threats to Israel.

Iran’s main primary defense up until quite recently has been Hezbollah. But Israel has already dismantled and destroyed many of their weapons and taken hundreds of terrorists off the field of battle with the pager explosions. The command structure of Hezbollah has been all but eliminated.

Now Israel must turn to the head of the snake, with or without the help of the feckless US administration and Intelligence Community. While this current administration has turned government surveillance upon the people of America, Israel is working, at risk to her people, to free the entire free world of the scourge of the Iranian theocracy.

  15. If some of the past interviews on this website are accurate then this attack was the beginning of something and not a one time raid.

Perhaps after our election in the US, we will then have a lame duck administration that can only make noise and nothing else, because there isn’t any country in the world who will listen to some idiot from this administration say anything about the Middle East and either believe it or remotely worry about it.

  16. I’m not so sure… Perhaps the fact that you perceive they “bowed” means that it’s working…

    The story isn’t yet over…
