T. Belman. This is crazy. I do not believe the results. . The WSJ refered to the poll and said “However, supporters of Netanyahu’s governing coalition prefer Trump over Biden by a 49-14 margin.” One cannot reconcile these numbers.
Poll finds Jewish public opinion has sharply swung in incumbent’s direction following support for Israel in wake of Oct. 7, after overwhelming 2020 support for Republican rival

Forty percent of Jewish Israelis want US President Joe Biden to be reelected in the 2024 presidential election, compared to just 26.2% who back Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, a poll conducted on Wednesday found.
The results of the poll indicated a massive swing in Israelis’ support for the current president, who has made a series of gestures to the Jewish state since the Hamas onslaught of October 7 while his predecessor has spent time at rallies mocking the intelligence failure that led to the devastating attack and criticizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump once enjoyed overwhelming support from Israelis, with a 2020 poll showing that 63% of Israelis had preferred him as president compared to just 17% who said they’d back Biden.
The results appeared to represent an extremely rare instance — the first in at least two decades — in which the Israeli public favors a Democratic presidential candidate over a Republican.
In the days following the Hamas assault, in which 1,200 Israelis were killed and some 240 were abducted by thousands of Hamas-led terrorists who breached the country’s border with Gaza, Trump found himself in hot water with Israel, Biden and even Republican rivals over comments he made at a campaign rally criticizing Jerusalem over the intelligence failure that led to the Hamas assault, calling Defense Minister Yoav Gallant a “jerk” and Lebanon’s Hezbollah terror group “very smart.”
Several days later, he was reported to have been privately calling for Netanyahu to be “impeached” for failing to anticipate the massive Hamas rampage.
During meetings about the war with pro-Israel Republican allies, Trump was said to have focused largely on his distaste for Netanyahu, whom he has yet to forgive for congratulating Biden after the latter won the 2020 election.
“Has anybody noticed that Hamas has returned people from other Countries but, so far, has not returned one American Hostage?” Trump wrote on his Truth social media platform on November 25, just one day after the truce came into effect.
“There is only one reason for that, NO RESPECT FOR OUR COUNTRY OR OUR LEADERSHIP. This is a very sad and dark period of America!” he added.
In contrast, the Biden administration has pledged steadfast support for Israel in the wake of the deadly attack. Biden himself visited Israel early in the war, and has met family members of some of those being held hostage in Gaza, vowing to continue arming Israel in its war to topple the Gaza terror group.
However, it has more recently increased pressure on Jerusalem to boost aid to the Strip, wrap up the high-intensity phase of the war, and accept handing the Palestinian Authority a governing role in post-war Gaza.
Hi, Mirib.
It’s hard to find anything nowadays that is NOT propaganda; but the poll could be accurate — especially since it reflects the sharp divide among Israeiis. Americans are also divided, in every religion and every family.
People have a tendency to be ungrateful. As a Christian, I can relate to the persecution of Jesus. The difference between “Hosanna in the Highest” and “Crucify him!” was about a week.
It’s hard for you folks to believe that not everyone worships Trump. In fact many in Israel may be skeptical of his support for Israel in a second term based on his narcissistic tendency to go after anyone who has offended him in the slightest. I could see Trump throwing Israel under the bus to get back at Bibi. That’s not to say Biden is a realiable friend either. That’s why I support principled conservatives, especially Christian conservatives.
@Michael S- you mean since Trump has been out of office? Well, the Israelis must have the goldfish brain. I still think the poll is propaganda.
(I hope)
PROPOGANDA FROM THE DNC
Polls are just data points. As with all data, some is good and some is bad. What distinguishes between the two is, as is true with all data based evidence, the preponderance of the evidence, which along with common sense does not support this WSJ poll. Just like one study can not substantiate ‘safe and effective’, one poll can not demonstrate a ‘shift’ in public opinion. In fact, outlier data needs to be demonstrated as being both reproducible and consistent for it to have any value at all. Til such time as it might be confirmed, and we should expect a good long wait for confirmation of this nonsense, outlier data should be recognized as having no statistical or useful value.
Any country who voted in the likes of Lapid, Bennett, Gantz is obviously politically inept and ignorant of the REAL policies they SHOULD endorse.
Especially when the KNOW the shambles they made in their year or so of misgovernment, that nearly ruined the tiny country.
Weathervanes par excellence.
Well, I support Trump.
I did a search for more articles on the Poll and there were none except for the WSJ one that I referred to.
Hello, Mirib
You know the old saying…
“What have you done for me LATELY?”
I take these poll results at face value. “ungrateful hamorim”? This might be, as far as Israeli support for Trump is concerned; but remember, Trump hasn’t done anything concrete for Israel since 20 January, 2021 — an eternity, in politics.
Let’s not forget the WSJ is part of News Corp, which together with Fox News stopped supporting Trump around the time of the last presidential election if not before. So I take those polling results with more than a few grains of salt.
For that matter the Biden administration has been hot and cold in its support for Israel before and since October 7. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if it makes things that much more difficult for Israel in the coming months, which will strengthen support for Trump that much more…assuming he makes it to next November as the GOP candidate. Needless to say that’s not a foregone conclusion given the many ways his enemies will try to stop him “by any means necessary”.
What!? Who’d they poll?? This is absolute BS propaganda!
If it’s true, Israelis are ungrateful hamorim fools. After all Trump did for Israel! And moved the Embassy to Jerusalem! The Abrahamic Accords.
I feel sick.
