Pieprz explains that diabolical nature displayed by Hamas in the hostage release led Trump to recognize that any ceasefire achieved would lack any durability, which would undermine the US’ ability to claim a significant victory in claiming peace had been achieved, and which is also necessary for Trump’s broader aims in the region. Pieprz explains that this realization led Trump to support Israel’s ability to pursue a decisive victory on the battlefield, but that the US will not be supportive of a limited effort on behalf of Israel. He also discusses the possibilities regarding what might take place between the US and Iran.
