IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the Israeli military did not strike the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip earlier Tuesday and that the facility was hit by a failed rocket launched by the Islamic Jihad terror organization.

The military says that following an additional review and cross-examination of the operational and intelligence systems, “it is clear that the IDF did not strike the hospital in Gaza.”

“I can confirm that following an analysis of the IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit,” says Hagari in a short video sent by the IDF.

Intelligence points to Islamic Jihad “which is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza,” he says.

Hamas and most Arab nations have blamed Israel for the explosion, which the Hamas terror group said killed some 500 people. The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza later said between 200 and 300 had been killed.

The Israeli military says Gaza-based terror organizations fire rockets indiscriminately toward Israel and about 450 rockets launched toward Israel have fallen inside Gaza since the beginning of the war on October 7, “endangering and harming the lives of Gazan residents.”

Surveillance camera footage shows the moment the rocket launched from the Gaza Strip appears to fall short and explode inside the Palestinian enclave.

Several other videos appear to show the same.

One video, taken from Netiv Haasara, appeared to match footage taken by Al Jazeera, which also showed a rocket misfire land inside Gaza.

Another video, published by Palestinian media outlets, showed the blast at the Ahli Arab Hospital.

  1. @Peloni you are correct the number that died in the hospital parking lot was certainly highly inflated.

Every conflict Israel is in the enemy comes up with the big lie to make Israel a pariah. At least so far this the biggest. First they said we blew up the hospital and I have read numbers as large as 500 dead.

Clearly Israel did not attack the hospital. I will not go into all the evidence it is available all over the place. Misfired IPJ rocket that killed Gazans near hospital.

Israel did not launch a rocket that fell on a hospital in Gaza, OSINT analysts confirm.

It was a Hamas rocket that exploded in the air and fell on the hospital.

Meanwhile, amid the Gaza hospital explosion, protests against Israel and its Western allies are taking place in most Muslim countries.

In Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Tunisia, Lebanon, Syria and other countries, protesters are picketing diplomatic missions of the United States and Israel, throwing stones at them and trying to storm them – in Istanbul, the Israeli consulate was even fired at with fireworks.

Palestine blames Israel for this explosion, and Israel, in turn, points to Hamas, but it seems that this is no longer important to anyone.

  3. Between 200 and 300 dead? This does appear to have been quite a large blast to take place at a hospital after being struck with but a single rocket. Indeed, what might have been present in the basement of that structure to igite such a mighty explosion as to kill some 2-300 if not more. Let us be frank. Is there much doubt the likely effect of the errant Hamas rocket was to actually ignight the weapons stores being shielded in this weapon depot. Indeed, there is little wonder that Hamas would not allow its hospitalized paitients to be moved south for safety since doing so would actually allow such weapons depots masquerading as care facilities, such as this likely was, to be targeted for an Israeli strike which, in thiss case, Hamas was kind enough to strike in our stead. Oh the irony of this tragedy is both devilishly revealing while also being terribly lethal.
