Human Rights Voices is a new site created by Anne Bayefsky, a fellow Canadian lawyer, who has been at the forefront in the fight for human rights her entire career. She tells me, “It’s a major database that has literally taken me years to create – and we add research to it all the time.” Presently, it contains 20,000 pages relevant to human rights issues.
She was formerly a Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute[3].
Currently, she is the Director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust.
In addition, she is a member of the International Law Association Committee on International Human Rights Law and Practice; Editor-in-Chief of the Series “Refugees and Human Rights”, published by Martinus Nijhoff, The Hague; and editor of Eye on the UN.[3][4] She also sits on the Board of Advisors of theJewish Institute for National Security Affairs, a non-profit think-tank focusing on issues of United States and Israeli national security.[5]
Another young Canadian lawyer, Hillel Neuer, has made quite a name for himself fighting for Israel at the U.N. He is executive director of U.N. Watch, a non-governmental organization based in Geneva, whose mandate is to monitor the performance of the United Nations by the yardstick of its own Charter.
Both Bayefsky and Neuer are stalwart defenders of Israel and informed critics of the UN.
Every 2nd Jewish son is a lawyer! Where are all these lawyers when it comes to defend Israel
