  1. Report: Israeli strikes hit Syrian bases eyed by Turkey for potential deployment
Recent Israeli airstrikes in Syria targeted air bases scouted by Turkey, intensifying the tensions between the two countries, according to a Reuters report. Ankara had assessed sites for possible military deployment under a defense pact before the strikes.

From April 5 Arutz Sheva. Still more evidence of Turkey’s threatening behavior towards Israel, Many Israelis and pro-Israel Americans have been focusing on the threat posed by Qatar to Israel, While this threat is real, that posed by Turkey is more critical, since Turkey has a much larger military force and far more economic resources than Qatar. Its plan to attack the Kurds in Syria will result in the release of large numbers of Al-Quaeda terrorists currently in Kurdish prisons. Once freed, these al-Quaeda warriors will certainly be available for depoloyment against Israel and the United States

According to MEMRI, Turkey’s president Erdogan has called for the destruction of Israel. Speaking in what MEMRI says is the largest mosque in Turkey, built by Erdogan himself (a new mosque), Erdogan called for the complete destruction and elimination of Israel and Zionism. He prayed to “the Lord” to accomplish this.

I would like to think that the United States and the other NATO countries would condemn Erdogan’s remarks and impose trade and other sanctions on Turkey until and unless he publicly retracts these statements and apologizes for them. He must be required to apologize personally to Netanyahu. If he can’t bring himself to do this, the U>S. should impose a complete trade and aid embargo on Turkey.

Erdogan’s arrest of the leader of the main opposition party in Turkey should also be condemned in no uncertain terms.
