A Hamas official slammed Jordan’s King Abdullah on Thursday and said his fate will be similar to that of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Mustafa Sawaf, editor-in-chief of the Gaza-based, Hamas-affiliated paper Felesteen, criticized the King for his support of the renewed talks between Israeli and Palestinian Authority officials.

In his editorial, Sawaf accused the Jordanian King of assuming Mubarak’s role in sponsoring negotiations between the PA and Israel. Sawaf said that doing so harms the rights of PA Arabs and would lead to the King being dethroned since, as he put it, “Whoever declares war on Allah will eventually go away.”

Sawaf’s criticism comes following the meeting in Amman earlier this week between Israeli envoy Yitzhak Molcho and PA negotiator Saeb Erekat.

The meeting was described as positive and the parties have reportedly agreed to meet again next week in Jordan.

Sawaf also accused PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of not being serious in his recent reconciliation talks with Hamas’ politburo chief Khaled Mashaal. He maintained that the purpose of the talks was to return to the negotiating table with Israel, adding Abbas simply wants to appease the U.S. and Europe.

Earlier this week, Hamas leader Ismail Radwan said that the talks with Israeli envoys in Amman would damage Fatah’s reconciliation deal with the terror group.

“We consider these meetings a blow for national reconciliation, especially as we agreed in Cairo to face Israel’s settlements, wall, and attacks together,” Radwan said.

  1. These Arab Muslims are nuts. I don’t think for a minute there will ever be another Arab caliphate because I don’t think Arab Muslim states would be willing to give up their sovereignty. They haven’t been listening to the voices of the young people. King Abdullah is not the same type of ruler as Mr. Mubarak was. Hamas acts like it’s still going to be here in ten years…

Sunni Muslim officials and clerics should choose a Muslim leader to speak for them. Even the Grand Muftis don’t have the authority. If the Muslim Brotherhood is smart, it will not insert the typical Muslim noose around their people’s necks. Egyptians must be free to think and create and build businesses. As far as I can see, the Ottoman Caliphate encouraged populations of like-minded people on a very low level of accomplishment. Thus the Muslim populations were left 100 or 200 years behind the times. If you blow it, Muslim Brotherhood, you too will be overthrown. It’s time to use ijtihad to bring the Quran into modernity and get rid of parts from Medina, which was not written by holies.

Did anyone else see Assad’s live speech on CNN that I watched here at 3 a.m.? Finally he let the CNN crew in. He talked rapidly in Arabian with a translator who said corruption would be tackled by the government and other things. CNN pointed out that his 60+ minute speech indicated no approach he would follow to do this. He used the George W. Bush approach in only allowing his supporters in the auditorium. The auditorium was pleasing to look at. It looked like an oval paneled horizontally in big planks of uneven lengths of bent wood, but it probably wasn’t wood. I think Assad hopes that his world-wide audience would improve its opinion of him.

A couple of things to ponder.

Since camera phones became ubiquitous no UFOs have been spotted.

Steve Jobs last words were Oh wow Oh wow Oh wow! Did he see rainbows and unicorns? Speaking of unicorns, my most favorite New Yorker magazine cartoon shows Noah and his super-loaded Ark at sea. His son comes up to him and says, Bad news Pops. The Unicorns are lesbians!

  2. King Abdullah has two sons, both descended from Muhammed (44th generation). Crown Prince Hussein will be 18 in June. Prince Hashem bin Al Abdullah will be six at the end of this month. Jordanian Salafi Cleric Sheik Yassin Al-‘Ajlouni said last month that The Caliphate Will Be Reestablished in 2024, probably by the Son of Jordanian King Abdullah:

“I bring glad tidings to the Islamic nation: The days of the establishment of the Caliphate are near – the Caliphate that will reside in Jerusalem, and the Caliph who will conquer Palestine. ‘So when the second warning came to pass, we permitted your enemies to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple, as they had entered it before, and to destroy all that fell into their power.’ This is the Caliph to whom allegiance will be pledged in Palestine, after he conquers the Arab Peninsula and Persia.

“I think – although Allah knows best – that the [Caliph] is among us. We see him with our own eyes. He is Abdullah, who reigns over Jordan at present. The man will be guided by Allah to this great conquest, and Allah willing, in 1446 AH [2024 CE], we will witness the rebuilding of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the most beautiful manner.

“The armies that will conquer Palestine will all agree to have Abdullah as their Caliph. This will be a Hashemite Caliphate, but not the way we want it – it will not be in keeping with the path of the Prophet. Such a Caliphate will be established, Allah willing, by Muhammad, whom we believe to be the son of Abdullah II, the current king of Jordan – but Allah knows best.

“Allah willing, I will fill you in with more details on this matter.” […]

  3. Hamas is right.
The Jordanian kingsling will be gone and replaced with Islamists.
At that point we can help Hamas to get control over Jordan and transport the Pal-Arabs there.
