Gil-White cuts Netanyahu no slack

I disagree with Gil-White’s conclusion.  Everyone involved with Oslo from the start knew of the Nazi connection and chose to ignore it.  I don’t see continuing it as treason but as stupidity or naivete.  Ted Belman

Netanyahu’s speech at Bar Ilan University

An interpretation

by Francisco Gil-White, Historical and Investigative Research

Eichmann’s deputy, Dieter Wisliceny, provided the following chilling testimony at Nuremberg:

“The Mufti played a role in the decision to destroy the Jews of Europe. The importance of his role cannot be ignored. . .  The Mufti was one of the initiators of the methodical destruction of the Jews of Europe and was a partner and consultant to Eichmann and Hitler on how to execute the plan. . .”

—Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking about Hajj Amin al Husseini, father of the Palestinian movement, at Bar Ilan University, (6 October 2013)

Earlier this month, at Bar Ilan University, Benjamin Netanyahu explained that Hajj Amin al Husseini—Mufti of Jerusalem and father of the Arab Palestinian movement—played a leading role in the German Nazi extermination of the European Jews.

Here is a portion of what he said:

. . .The undisputed leader of the Palestinian national movement in the first half of the 20th century was Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini. The Mufti was the living spirit behind those same attacks I described [against innocent Jews in British Mandate Palestine]. . . All this is known, but here are some facts about the Mufti’s activities that are less well known:

On November 28, 1941, the Mufti flew to Berlin and met with Hitler. He expressed to Hitler his readiness to cooperate with Germany in any way. And he did so—both by recruiting Muslim fighters to join the ranks of the S.S. in the Balkans and by broadcasting propaganda for the Nazis. . . Between 1942 and 1944, he worked from his base in Berlin and tried to prevent Jews from being saved. . .

. . .On May 13, 1943, for example, the Mufti submitted a letter to the Nazi Foreign Minister Ribbentrop in which he objected to the understandings Germany made which allowed for the deportation of 4,000 Jewish children from Bulgaria. He asked to see, “everyone,” and I quote, “everyone wiped out”.

Eichmann’s deputy, Dieter Wisliceny, provided the following chilling testimony at Nuremberg: “The Mufti played a role in the decision to destroy the Jews of Europe. The importance of his role cannot be ignored. The Mufti repeatedly proposed to the authorities with whom he was in contact, first and foremost Hitler, Ribbentrop and Himmler, to destroy the European Jews. He saw in that an appropriate solution to the Palestinian question”. Wisliceny even provided hearsay evidence that the Mufti was directly involved in the Final Solution. “The Mufti was one of the initiators of the methodical destruction of the Jews of Europe and was a partner and consultant to Eichmann and Hitler on how to execute the plan. He was one of Eichmann’s best friends and constantly pushed him to speed up the destruction. With my own ears,” he said, “I heard him say that he visited the gas chambers of Auschwitz anonymously in the company of Eichmann”.

Before I process this, an important correction.

Dieter Wisliceny’s claim that “the Mufti [Hajj Amin al Husseini] was directly involved in the Final Solution” is not “hearsay evidence.” The term ‘hearsay’ applies to purported events not personally witnessed by the one giving testimony, but Dieter Wisliceny, who testified to the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal, reported hearing Husseini’s words “with my own ears” (see above).

Does that make sense? It does.

The German Nazi Adolf Eichmann was chief architect and administrator of the Final Solution, and our witness—as Netanyahu himself points out—was “Eichmann’s deputy, Dieter Wisliceny.” He was Eichmann’s right-hand man, in close personal contact with his boss and any best friend of selfsame boss who may have acted as co-ruler of the death-camp system. Therefore, Wisliceny’s claim that Husseini, father of the Arab Palestinian movement, instigated, co-designed, and co-administered—with Eichmann—the extermination of the European Jews is eyewitness evidence.

Now, what do the above disclosures imply about the ongoing negotiations in Israel, collectively called Oslo ‘Peace’ Process?

Just this:

The Israeli ruling elite is negotiating to cede strategic territories of the State created to protect Jews from genocide to a movement created by the mastermind of the German Nazi genocide.

Isn’t this what they call treason?

[Bidvertisecode]

The mind boggles. Why would Netanyahu—the Israeli prime minister—disclose facts that leave him open to the accusation of treason?

The Arab-Israeli conflict is at heart a propaganda war. And the strategic battleground is the mind of the average Western citizen, who, to support the Oslo Process, must imagine the Arab Palestinians as a suffering, deserving people—in other words, not followers of a Holocaust leader. So notice that by sharing Husseini’s background much earlier, Netanyahu could have

a)     stopped the Oslo Process in its tracks long before the 1993 signature; or

b)     scored a major propaganda victory against the Oslo Process at any time since that signature.

But instead of that, Netanyahu, who twice campaigned for prime minister on a platform of opposition to Oslo, turned around once in office and pushed the Oslo Process as fast as possible.[1]

So again: Why does Netanyahu now disclose these facts about the Mufti Husseini, which open him to the charge of treason?

Is it because he just found out?

Netanyahu is right that these “facts about the Mufti’s activities”—about his leading role in the Final Solution—“are less well known” than Husseini’s other (also antisemitic) activities. There has been a tremendous media, academic, and political silence about this, so ordinary people mostly don’t know about it.

But Netanyahu is not an ordinary person.

The Israeli government—which Netanyahu presides—pays great attention to the Arab Palestinian movement, and the facts about Husseini are publicly available in libraries. Moreover, Israel National News (Arutz Sheva) published the facts about Husseini in 2003.[2] And in 2007 MosheFeiglin produced a tiny but audible squeak concerning Husseini’s masterminding of the German Nazi Final Solution.[3] It had to be audible to Netanyahu, because Feiglin is Netanyahu’s main rival within the Likud Party.

And in fact Netanyahu did not say at Bar Ilan that he had just learned about Husseini’s Holocaust role.

This is interesting. Because Netanyahu could have protected himself (somewhat) if he had:

a)     claimed to have just learned about Husseini’s Holocaust role;

b)     apologized for his past pro-Oslo behaviors;

c)     declared an immediate end to the Oslo Process; and

d)     announced the impending eviction of Husseini’s followers from Israeli soil.

But he did none of this.

But did he, at least, suggest that his views may be changing? Did he question the wisdom of the ‘Two-State Solution’? Did he so much as propose a review of the Oslo Process?

He did not.

On the contrary. In his speech, Netanyahu went out of his way to make clear that Oslo will go forward (and full steam ahead).

In fact, Netanyahu wanted to “emphasize,” he said, that the “essential condition” for “concluding the negotiations” is just this: the ‘Palestinian Authority’ must “recognize the right of the Jewish people to its own country, the State of Israel.” That’s it: just utter a few words and it’s done.

¡Netanyahu is almost pleading with Husseini’s followers to help him complete the handover of strategic Israeli territory!

This probably explains why he presented his negotiating partner, the ‘Palestinian Authority,’ as “the more moderate elements in Judea and Samaria,” and expressed full confidence in them: “it is true,” he asserted, “that they do not engage in terror.”

Wait. What?

Here is just one example from September 2013 (last month):

“While Fatah head and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas negotiates with Israel for the creation of a PA state, Fatah’s armed branch, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigadehas declared war.

The Brigade issued a statement Tuesday announcing that it would give the “green light” to terrorist attacks targeting Israelisbeginning on Friday.”[4]

When “Fatah’s armed branch,” the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades—“the deadliest Palestinian militia”[5]—gives “green light” to terror, it is Mahmoud Abbas who gives the orders, because he is “Fatah head and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.”

But then what is Netanyahu doing? To understand, you need certain facts that he left out of his speech.

As we document in the accompanying video, the first thing Husseini did upon meeting Hitler in November of 1941 was secure from the Führer the following promise: as soon as Germany had conquered the Middle East, “Germany’s objective would then be solely the destruction of the Jewish element residing in the Arab sphere under the protection of British power.”[6] Husseini’s first priority was to exterminate the Jews in British Mandate Palestine.

But the Germans did not conquer the Middle East.

Husseini would try again. He took refuge in Cairo, Egypt, and led the Arab Palestinians in the War of 1948, which Husseini ally—and Secretary General of the Arab League—Azzam Pasha announced as “a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades.”[7]

But the Arabs lost; Israel was born. Husseini now laid the groundwork for a new genocidal attempt. He was indefatigable.

Escaped German Nazi officers began arriving in Cairo in the 1950s to train Egyptian dictator Gamal Abdel Nasser’s security forces and soldiers.[8] These same Nazis trained Husseini’s protégés: Yasser Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas, and a few other adolescent recruits who became the founding core of Fatah (or Al Fatah).[9] Some time later Fatah swallowed a sister group, the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization).[10] Later, with the Oslo ‘Peace’ Process, Fatah accrued yet another name, ‘Palestinian Authority,’ and gained entrance into the Jewish State.

Translation:

Husseini has almost won. Netanyahu’s rush to conclude Oslo will give strategic territory of the Jewish State to his direct, German Nazi-trained spawn.

So I ask, once again: Why has Netanyahu—by disclosing Husseini’s leading Holocaust role—opened himself to the charge of treason?

I propose the following hypothesis: Netanyahu had no choice.

The only scenario I can imagine that would leave Netanyahu with no choice is the following:

A significant number of Netanyahu’s followers—probably people at Bar Ilan University, since they vote Likud, and since he gave the speech there—have become aware of Husseini’s role in the German Nazi extermination of European Jewry. If Netanyahu says nothing, he will appear to be covering this up. So he was forced to say something.

But this is good news.

Those who would like better news still should disseminate the information about Husseini as widely as possible.

Then perhaps Netanyahu (or whoever) can be forced to do what this information demandsput a stop to the Oslo Process and evict PLO/Fatah (and Hamas) from Israel (including Gaza).

  1. Amin al Husseini was an officer in the Ottoman Empire when WWI broke out. He served in Smyrna, an eastern coastal city of Turkey during the Armenian Genocide which served as a deportation center in the massive civil engineering project that served to exterminate Armenians.

There is only a little history on his time as an officer. He was shipped home for dysentery and I have seen a biography quote him as complaining that the Turks did not treat the Arab officers with any respect.

But he was there and given his enthusiasm for structure and organization in genocide in WWII, it is not hard to imagine that he learned something in his days in Smyrna.

So there are three genocides that we can associate with Amin al Husseini, the Armenian Genocide, the genocide of Serbs in the Balkans and the Holocaust. He actually offers the Nazis stiff competition as a mass murderer.

  2. Moreover, Israel National News (Arutz Sheva) published the facts about Husseini in 2003

There was a famous Serb (English language) website about Husseini which I found in 1999.

This was common knowledge on the internet by 2000; and among academics long before.

  3. I don’t see that happening. Netanyahu is afraid of Obama and this is the reason he is committed to Oslo.

He learned all the wrong lessons from his first term in office which has served Israel badly.

That’s the bad news. The good news is the Arabs hate him that much that they will never give him what he wants. He is not going to make peace with the present-day followers of the Nazi Mufti.
