Jacques Gauthier is fascinating, illuminating and entertaining. Well worth the hour.

“Thought this might be of interest to you…”

Thank you. I’d been acquainted with the Lustiger story for some years before the film was made.

It has no special resonance for me, however. I’ve NEVER planned, considered, contemplated, or wanted conversion to RCC or any other “church.”

Moreover, as far as Lustiger himself is concerned, it seems more than a bit strange that a 13-yr-old should’ve been thought competent to make such a weighty decision. A kid of that age is no more capable of jumping THAT fence than he would be of ‘deciding’ that he’s homosexual. The Age of Exploration should never be confused with the Age of Consent.

And any adult pressing such a decision on him — OR permitting it to him — needs to have his own head examined.

Sounds like a conflict within his father, Charles Lustiger, which the latter never resolved — thus leaving the son vulnerable.

    One man’s opinion, of course.

I don’t know the answers. A lot depends on the nature of any deal, the belief of the Israeli people that it’s good for us both nationally and individually.

Aside from the Israeli left and their politicians, Commercial interests and their influential lobbyists I see no mass sentiment for giving up any territory at this time.

Social issues are what most Israelis seem to be most concerned with.

Poll: Nationalist Bloc Up by 7 MKs
Channel 1 poll shows Likud Beytenu up by 3 seats, Ben Ari and Eldad’s party with 3 MKs.

    Still my Guy!! Aryeh Eldad

We don’t need no stinking League of Nations or the UN’s sanction and approval to establish our claim and rights to the whole of the Land of Israel.

Yamit, I agree with this statement 1000%.
I only have one question: (ok, it’s really a few related ones)
How many, or what percentage of Jewish Israelis share this very same belief (+/-) AND most importantly, who are they? Do they have a chance to win and make a difference (without help from above?….. 😉 )
Please understand, this is a real question, not a challenging one just to be a ‘wise guy’.
I WISH this would be the norm.
