Gantz swipes at Netanyahu, criticizes those creating ‘manufactured disputes’ with US

T. Belman. There you have it in a nutshell. Netanyahu is against the TSS and against the PA ruling Gaza. Gantz is all for it. Gantz continues to kiss Biden’s ass, while Bibi stands up against him. This will be the core issue in the next election.

Remember Gantz gave away part of our gas fields to Hezbollah and part of Area C to the Arabs by allowing their settlement there.

Looking to Gaza’s future, National Unity Party leader stresses Israel’s willingness to work with US and moderate Arab nations to build Gaza anew after Hamas rule is toppled

War cabinet minister Benny Gantz appeared to criticize Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday night, calling out those who harm Israel’s ties with the Biden administration by engaging in “manufactured disputes” amid the war against Hamas.

During a press conference in Tel Aviv, Gantz carefully avoided identifying Netanyahu by name, but he voiced similar accusations as Opposition Chairman Yair Lapid, who in comments Wednesday did make a point of calling out the premier more directly.

“The role of the leadership is to tell the public what will happen in a factual manner and strive toward [that goal] without creating manufactured disputes when our soldiers are fighting side-by-side on the battlefield,” Gantz said.

“Unfortunately, even in these very days, there are those who are engaged in creating manufactured disputes in the public domain and harming the important relations with the United States.”

The National Unity leader appeared to be referring to Netanyahu doubling down on his rhetoric against the idea of the Palestinian Authority returning to govern Gaza after the war.

Though that has been the stated goal of the Biden administration, it had also acknowledges that there will have to be a transition period before the PA is ready and that the PA will need to be “revitalized” first.

Netanyahu’s rhetoric has frustrated US efforts to rally Arab leaders to assist in post-war Gaza strategizing, US and Arab officials have told The Times of Israel.

>Gantz, in his comments, acknowledged the need to work with Israel’s Arab partners to rebuild Gaza after the IDF achieves its goal of eliminating Hamas and ending its 16-year rule.

“In this war, there is no ‘day after,’ there is a long, difficult and necessary process,” he said, adding that this will take “days and months and years.”

“Hamas is part of the Iranian axis that wants to destroy us and stop normalization. We must make the opposite happen: remove the threat of Hamas, strengthen the relationship with the moderate Arab countries and build a different regional reality that will also include a framework for a solution in Gaza.”

Acknowledging that in the short term, Israel will retain security control in Gaza, Gantz added that “in the civil aspect, it would be correct to find local entities that would take care of sewage, medicine and civil issues.” This would be done, he said, “with the support of an administration that would consist of mostly moderate Arab countries,” which would work with Israel to start the normalization process and “the process of changing the reality in Gaza in the long term.”

In contrast to Netanyahu, who has pushed back against the US’s plans for Gaza, Gantz repeatedly acknowledged Washington’s role in the territory’s future and the goals and interests shared by Israel and its closest ally.

“It is clear to both us and our partners that the old concepts and the reality of the past decades, needs to change and be forward-facing. We are at the beginning of a process that will take years,” he said. “This is the time to work with our partners, in the closed room, in full trust, and also to thank them for the support and great efforts they are making to free the abductees.”

Switching to English, Gantz addressed the US directly.

“My American friends, ‘Make no mistake, we are partners by duty and friends by choice,’” he said. “?That is what my friend General Martin Dempsey once told me. ?These words are more meaningful now than ever. Israel is thankful for your continued support during these difficult times.”

Returning to Hebrew, Gantz addressed Israel’s citizens, again appearing to take a swipe at Netanyahu’s leadership and the behavior of his government.

“The most important thing at this time is to win the war and maintain Israel’s security,” he said. “To this end, the unity of the people, the spirit backing the soldiers, the return of the hostages, and making the right decisions at the military and political levels are important.”

“My friends and I will continue to act with national responsibility, we will back the soldiers and commanders, we will make sure that the right and difficult decisions are made, we will deal with the rehabilitation of the settlements and we will act solely for the interests of the people of Israel.”

Gantz has been a vocal opponent of the current government since its founding and only entered it temporarily in October to help steer the war after Hamas’s devastating attack on Israel.

His popularity has soared in recent weeks: While the National Unity Party currently holds just 12 seats, polls have shown that he could win as many as 43 seats if elections were held now.

  1. I agree with @peloni1986. Although I didn’t realize how far back Gantz went in providing Israeli cover for the disastrous Obama policy of dividing the Jews of the United States into a secular progressive group vs. the conservative, observant, and/or pro-Zionist Jews.

This Obama policy is in essence a pro-Islamic caliphate policy and as such, provides billions of dollars of monetary and political support for Iran and other Islamic terrorist groups throughout the Middle East and beyond.

They only support Israel nominally, with 1/20th of the monetary support they provide for Iran. They need a portion of the Jewish community’s support for elections, so they cannot say what they really mean, which is, “We are supporting a global Islamic caliphate and hoping that will mean the end of Israel, and the end of the Judeo-Christian civilization as we know it.” That wouldn’t work very well for getting them elected, would it?

So they say in words they support Israel, and they give military weapons support, but while doing so they are daily signaling to Hamas, the PA, Iran, Hezbollah, and all the Islamic terrorists: “We are going to hamstring Israel so Israel cannot win.”

For Gantz to support this US administration should make him radioactive as a politician. It is clear that his appointment of Haliva was a huge mistake, and that mistake will be brought home to bear on him once the investigation into the intelligence failures is complete. Gantz, Haliva, and the rest of the Palestinian apologists in the defense and security establishment are potentially guilty of treason. They clearly acted in ways that were directly responsible for the worst massacre in Israeli history, and for Gantz, what he did re: gas rights in the Mediterranean could also be seen as potentially treasonous.

But then again, in allying with the Obama/Biden Administrations, Gantz is allying with Presidents who have committed treason. Maybe that’s required for membership in their political group.

I think Israelis don’t often think of treason as a possibility in their political leaders or of those in their defense and security establishment, maybe because it is not just the Israelis who are dependent upon them for their safety and security, but the world’s Jewish population as a whole is dependent upon them for their safety and security as well.

Also it is possible that the Israelis have been conditioned by years of Supreme Court positions that have continuously undermined the efforts of political leaders to provide adequate and effective national security.

Events in the US have taught us that “national security” can be over-used as an excuse for oppression and deprivation of individual liberty. But there is a middle ground between over-use of “national security” as a reason for legislation or political decisions and undermining of national security in the interests of championing the rights of people whose oft stated goal is to abolish the State of Israel.

Gantz and the Supreme Court of Israel and the Obama and Biden Administrations seem to share the goal of undermining the security of the state of Israel.

  2. FYI- If I recall, David P. Goldman wrote a piece a few weeks ago suggesting that ….CHINA….might have a role to play in what happens there.
I personally thing it would be terrible, but he does mention that they have experience in ‘dealing ‘ with Muslims, and would also develop the area. I wouldn’t be surprised if , in fact, China is sitting back ready to saunter in as some bs white knight down the road.

  3. Gantz has been a tool of the Dems in America since he first set foot on the political stage where he came to provide political cover for those Dems who voted for Obama’s JCPOA. He has stood as a significant cog in the political chaos over the past years where he went so far as to convince Trump to renege his offer of the sovereignty of 30% of J&S. He was also responsible for the devastating appointment of Haliva as head of IDF Intelligence, with whom Gantz’ shared worship of the TSS came to deny any response to prevent October 7, even as significant details of the methods and means of the attack were reported upto a year before the attack took place. Gantz also provided a key role in the Bennett govt to not only rekindle the Pals hopes for the return of the TSS, but also violated the law by helping arrange financing for Abu Mazen without so much as an attempt to end the Pay for Slay policy of financing the murder of Israeli citizens. It is he whom the Americans are trying to leverage into the seat of the PM, and should that take place it would result in irreparable harm to the nation.
