- France has suffered numerous Iranian-sponsored terror attacks both on its own soil and in Lebanon. When conducting talks with Iran on the freeing of hostages, France often encountered deception and subterfuge. Thus, France has learned its lesson and continues to harbor resentment toward Iran.
- From a historical perspective, France is concerned about the nuclear threat to Israel and believes the Jewish state’s security must be ensured.
- France has made clear that –

- Sanctions must be lifted gradually and only after Iran fulfills all the articles of the agreement.
- IAEA inspectors must be able to visit sites at any time, without restrictions of time or place and without advance warning.
- Iran’s “break-out” period requires a time span of at least a year, with tight and total supervision.
- Iran’s stock of enriched uranium must not be allowed to increase beyond 300 kilograms.
- Iran must be prevented from building new sites for enrichment or from producing heavy water.
- The reactor in Arak must not be allowed to produce military-grade plutonium.
- All workshops for constructing new centrifuges must be inoperative for more than 20 years.
- France understands that President Obama has made a strategic decision and is very determined to sign an agreement. France will wait for a final decision by the U.S. Congress and make a serious attempt to gauge the mood in Tehran, being well aware of Iran’s domestic struggles and of the illness of Supreme Leader Khamenei. France will toe the line with the United States and sign the agreement.

Looks like France hopes that the US congress will intervene. Iran will cheat. They know nothing else.
Israel is already despised, that’s not the point and it’s not the nuclear fallout that kills the millions in a EMP, it the breakdown of all electronics from planes falling out of the sky to anything electronic no longer working for many months. No cars no refrigeration. In a way it would be poetic justice sending the mullahs back to the 7th century they wish to recreate globally. I agree if it really comes down to EMP or the mullah bomb, self preservation is paramount and it’s been imposed by the mullahs. I’m just not convinced that’s the only effective remedy nor that it would achieve the desired result as no doubt the mullahs have hardened their weaponization against against EMP attacks.
EMP only fries the electronic and electrical devices and has no nuclear fall out. If it is Iran with a bomb program in which Israel has a good chance to be eliminated or setting off an EMP then if I have a vote (which I do not as I do not sit in the security cabinet) I vote for the EMP before Iran sets off a nuke in Israel. Bombing all those sites is real iffy at best!
Yes I agree it is not a pretty or desirable choice. Israel would be dispised but alive. The Iranians have made their choice and vow to destroy Israel. The USA under Obama is weak and will let them get multiple bombs while they develop warheads that fit on their missiles (that is what they are working on now).
@ Bear Klein:
Are you serious? An EMP would kill millions of innocent people! A bomb or as many as it takes in each facility is the only way to stop the mullah bomb thanks to the Islamist-Enabler-In-Chief in the WH.
Only deal that stops Iran from getting nukes is a bomb in each facility. An EMP bomb would also work as an alternative.
