[I think it would be the right move for Feiglin.]
by Gil Ronen, INN
Moshe Feiglin, head of the Manhigut Yehudit oppositional faction within the Likud party, has decided to leave the Likud along with his movement, Makor Rishon reported Friday.
Feiglin has reportedly called a meeting of the central activists in Manhigut Yehudit for Sunday, in which he intends to announce his decision. He will recommend that the movement seek its political home outside Likud. On the record, Feiglin would only tell Makor Rishon that “we are in a period of internal inquiries that will last about two weeks and we are involving the activists in the dilemmas.”
Speaking with Arutz Sheva’s Uzi Baruch Friday, Feiglin did not deny the report but said: “The movement already announced a week ago that it would be choosing its options vis-a-vis Netanyahu – including the possibility of another contest with Netanyahu a year from now, as well as leaving the Likud.”
A senior source within Manhigut Yehudit denied the Makor RIshon report and said that the meeting of activists will not be held this Sunday but one week later.
Feiglin joined the Likud 10 years ago, out of a conviction that the multi-party system does not really work in Israel, and that the only way to seize leadership is through the largest party, Likud. He vied twice for party leadership and failed both times. Feiglin was in the party’s 20th slot for the Knesset in the last elections, but legalistic and political maneuvers by Binyamin Netanyahu forced him out of that slot and prevented his entry into the Knesset. It should be noted that Feiglin never seemed to content himself with the goal of getting elected to a Knesset seat, but was intent from the outset on becoming the party’s leader.
Before forming Manhigut Yehudit, Feiglin led ‘Zo Artzenu’, a high-profile protest movement against the Oslo process.
Feiglin, who is considered a bright and creative mind by his supporters and foes alike, also writes a weekly column in one of the leading news websites.
Netanyahu nemesisLikud leader Binyamin Netanyahu has seen Feiglin as his nemesis within Likud, and accused him of trying to effect a hostile takeover of the Likud with the aim of turning it into a religious party. “We are not an extremist messianic party; we are a national and liberal movement,” he said ahead of the latest confrontation with Feiglin.
That confrontation took place late April and centered on an internal Likud vote to change the party’s constitution in a way that would put off to 2011 the elections to its central committee. The move was seen as a bid to prevent Feiglin from gaining strength in the party’s grassroots leadership and to give Netanyahu time to add more moderate grassroots members to Likud, to offset the ones that Feiglin had brought in.
Feiglin said the showdown would ultimately determine the fate of Jerusalem. Netanyahu, he warned emotionally, wants to silence opposition in the Likud because he has made a secret pact with US President Barack Obama that involves partitioning Jerusalem. Several Likud Knesset members, including Danny Danon, Tzipi Hotovely and Yariv Levin, also opposed Netanyahu’s move – but Netanyahu succeeded in passing the resolution anyway.
This last failure is what seems to have convinced Feiglin to leave the Likud and essentially abandon his decade-long project.
A source within the National Union estimated Friday that the NU would issue a call to Likud members who followed Feiglin to join the NU instead. NU leader MK Yaakov (Ketzaleh) Katz has said that Feiglin’s political strategy was not completely above board in that it called on people who did not really vote for Likud or believe in its path to become official party members. That enabled them to have a voice in determining the party’s list but it was not certain that they voted for the party in the ensuing elections. (IsraelNationalNews.com)
How can you tell if that’s a hen?
How do you know it’s not a battered housewife?
I wake up each day and thank G-d I wasn’t born a hen.
That’s easy!
Are you asking me or are you asking Chachmeinu, Zichronam Livrachah?
The obvious answer is the word “sohmchin” – to assume you can become dependent on miracles. There is no contradiction between that and prayer.
You also assume that by its nature, G-d’s answering one’s prayers is a supernatural miracle. Go back and read what Chazal say about the laws of cause and effect by praying with sincerity.
Similarly, there is no contradiction between the daily miracles we are granted in individual and national spheres, and not assuming that we are ENTITLED to them. Or did you think otherwise?
I never said otherwise. I said there is no guarantee that at this point in history, you and I are going to get our wishes granted.
Manhihut Yehudit is not leaving the Likud at this time (in Hebrew)
Listen Shy first of all pay attention. I was not asking a question, I was making a statement. A statement I didn’t feel was anti-Jewish.
Apparently as usual you are overly anxious to criticize me for one thing or another and lecture me on Judaism.
You don’t have to remind me I am non-Jewish.
I wake up each day and thank G-d I wasn’t born a Jew because I don’t think I could handle anti-Semitism or the hate directed at Jews.
according to your approach it would be wrong to pray, than what would be the purpose of it?
what do you intend when you say: “heal us and we shall be healed”, “save us and we shall be saved”, “may we never be emberessed for in You we place our trust”, “we give thanks to You … for Your miracles that are with us every day and for Your wonders … that are with us at all times evening morning and afternoon … for always we placed our hope in You”, “our Father our King nullify the plans of our enemies … thwart the concpiracy of our foes … annihilate every oppressor and adversary from upon us … send complete healing to all sick of Your people … sprout salvation for us soon … raise the horn of Israel Your people … hear our voice”
you have cited righly “MA TITS’AQ ELAY”, parashat Qeriy’at HaYam consolides the idea of prayer with the principle “En Somkhin ‘Al HaNes”:
we have to do our best (Histhadlut), but this Hishtadlut will always remain an infinitesimal part in the whole story and G-d’s wonder will be the major part.
“En Somkhin ‘Al HaNes” is not a general interdiction to rely on wonders, it is only forbidded to sit down and cross the hands and waite for a wonder, but in a situation of great danger when you cannot do anything (as in Parashat Qeriy’at HaYam) it is not only allowed but a commandment to rely on a wonder and pray for it, and accordingly the merit of the people before they deserved the Great Wonder of Qeriy’at HaYam was solely the fact that they trusted in G-d and therefore started walking into the sea, nothing else, and with that they deserved to be saved.
the same is today. we must not be afraid of anybody. we shall build and conquer Eretz Yisrael as G-d commanded upon us, and it is the problem of G-d to get along with the arabs and the sect of love.
Two Answers:
1. Yep.
“But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked–thou didst wax fat, thou didst grow thick, thou didst become gross–and he forsook God who made him, and contemned the Rock of his salvation. They roused Him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations did they provoke Him. They sacrificed unto demons, no-gods, gods that they knew not, new gods that came up of late, which your fathers dreaded not. Of the Rock that begot thee thou wast unmindful, and didst forget God that bore thee. 19 And the LORD saw, and spurned, because of the provoking of His sons and His daughters. And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faithfulness. They have roused Me to jealousy with a no-god; they have provoked Me with their vanities; and I will rouse them to jealousy with a no-people; I will provoke them with a vile nation. For a fire is kindled in My nostril, and burneth unto the depths of the nether-world, and devoureth the earth with her produce, and setteth ablaze the foundations of the mountains. I will heap evils upon them; I will spend Mine arrows upon them; The wasting of hunger, and the devouring of the fiery bolt, and bitter destruction; and the teeth of beasts will I send upon them, with the venom of crawling things of the dust. Without shall the sword bereave, and in the chambers terror; slaying both young man and virgin, the suckling with the man of gray hairs. I thought I would make an end of them, I would make their memory cease from among men; Were it not that I dreaded the enemy’s provocation, lest their adversaries should misdeem, lest they should say: Our hand is exalted, and not the LORD hath wrought all this.’ 28 For they are a nation void of counsel, and there is no understanding in them.”
– Deuteronomy 32:15-28
2. Can you please refute my previous reply to you before asking another losing question? Much appreciated. 😉
Your right Shy, G-d does promote hate and in particular anti-Semitiism, how foolish of me to think otherwise. Shame on me.
Yamit, you forgot the music video link.
ron here’s another I hope it’s not to long for you?
Ecclesiastes Chapter 3
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: {P}
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to wee and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
What is this wishy-washy drivel you’re claiming?
How about:
“Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD; yet I loved Jacob; But Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness. Whereas Edom saith: ‘We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places’; thus saith the LORD of hosts: They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall be called the border of wickedness, and the people whom the LORD execrateth for ever.”
– Malachi 1:2-4
Lehavdil, how about:
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
– John 8:44
There’s plenty more.
The Torah and Bible teaches love not hate and discrimination.
Tar Yag, a reminder: “ein somchin al ha’ness” – “one should not rely on miracles”.
I greatly look forward to the Teshuva or swift Divine dispatch of Israel’s own enemies from within. However, as you already know from history, you don’t always get what you wish for, at a minimal not in the immediate time frame you hang your hopes on. And that’s certainly true when the choice is in our hands (“Mah titz’ak eiliy?!”). As our parents often told us: “The Eibeshter helps those who help themselves.”
Tar Yag, whom do you Fear? HaShm or the Israeli government?
If you only fear HaShem then you do as he commands in the Torah otherwise you are full of it and no better than any secular atheist even worse.
At least they aren’t hypocritical in their nonbeliefs.
obviously barak, bb, livni peres and the other worms do not know that G-d gives them a test: show what you really are, and the judgment is coming ahead. how stupid people, they are hanging themselves up.
those eho think that bb has defeated Moshe Feiglin may be completely wrong, wait and see, history can change within seconds. look for example what implication a little vulcan eruption can have. who can predict what will happen if/when then next regional/global war comes. this war also can erupt in seconds, and bb and barak and beinisch a certainly the last ones who will remain in power after that.
the G-d of our fathers the G-d of Israel who miracously protects us will continue to protect us and He will judge the worms and the flies Mida KeNeged Mida.

ron how do you know that G-d doesn’t like antisemitism?
Antisemitism is not just liberalism.
I spent a lot of time in Virginia and they were not known for Liberalism but I was asked where my
Jewish horns were and not just once.
Interesting word Attenuate. It can mean: To make slender, fine, or small:
but it can also mean: To reduce in force, value, amount, or degree; weaken:
ron if you have to say something to say to me, say it to me directly and not through any intermediary. We are not Catholic here and require no

That said your criticism is noted and I will try to reduce my comments to your familiar sound bytes like:
Supporters of Obama before the election and supporters of Palin today have a lot in common. Both ignore and rationalize that which is not
in conformity to their preconceived notions.
This demonstrates …..?
How’s that short enough for you?
Yes Ayn, now can you persuade him?
mly,
Attenuate the dissertations.
Or else.
Anti-Semitism should not be tolerated.
Anti-Semitism is jealousy of success.
Anti-Semitism is a serious sin.
Anti-Semitism is hate.
Anti-Semitism is exercised by mental midgets.
Anti-Semitism needs to be eradicated
And above all G-d hates Anti-Semitism.
Ayn would you be kind and do me and all a favor. You are professional writer while Uncle Nahum (Yamit)is the in house scholar who provides us with a wealth of information and analysis. Would you speak to him and ask him to keep it short and to the point. In business we keep the communications short and to the point, long and lengthy letters and memos tend to bore the reader and the subject is lost.
He has a lot of good stuff to say and I don’t read well.
Levinson did you read this:
Despite the fact that there are many more anti-Semitic than Islamophobic attacks, the Left loudly decries Islamophobia while remaining almost completely silent about anti-Semitism.
Why?
Perhaps this explains it.
On DailyKos, when one of the inmates posts something that the others dislike the comment is quickly expunged.
A couple of years ago, one of the Kossacks wrote, “Anti-Semitism is truth”.
The comment was allowed to remain on the site.
And this is the mainstream Democratic Party site where Obama and Biden and Hitlery and Pelosi and Reid and Kerry have all contributed.
It has many self-professed “Jewish” participants (although I have my suspicions about “Yasser from Dearborn”).
Anti-Semitism is not truth.
Anti-Semitism is liberalism.
Antisemitism rising worldwide, US report finds
The State Department
Criticism of Israel and Zionism led to a rise of anti-Jewish sentiment around the world in 2009, the US said in a report that denounced “new forms” of antisemitism.
“Traditional and new forms of Antisemitism continued to arise, and a spike in such activity followed the Gaza conflict in the winter of 2009,” the State Department said in an annual report.
“Often despite official efforts to combat the problem, societal Antisemitism persisted across Europe, South America, and beyond and manifested itself in classic forms,” it said.

Israel – The Stephen Roth Institute: Antisemitism on the rise worldwide
The year of 2009 saw an increase of more than 100% in the number of violent acts of Antisemitic nature against Jews worldwide, according to a report released Sunday by the Stephen Roth Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism and Racism at Tel Aviv University.
The Institute recorded 1,129 violent incidents in 2009, compared to 559 in 2008 – the highest number of incidents in the past 20 years.
Moshe Kantor, President of the European Jewish Congress (L) and Professor Dina Porat, head of the Stephen Roth Institute for the Study of Contemporary Anti-Semitism and Racism at Tel Aviv University, present on Sunday the findings of the new survey on anti-Semitism worldwide. The Institute’s head, Prof. Dina Porat, noted in a press briefing that number of incidents, both violent and verbal, might actually be far higher than the figures presented in the report, as they do not include hundreds of instances of targeting of Jewish individuals or property (or public property), where there was no clear evidence of Antisemitic motive. In addition, she said, Jews sometimes prefer not to file complaints, fearing reprisal or doubting the outcome
According to the report, 2009 was a record year in terms of Antisemitic incidents, and the reports authors ascribe this to Operation Cast Lead in Gaza, which generated mass demonstrations and verbal and visual expressions against Israel and the Jew worldwide.
According to the Institute’s criteria and data, the highest rise in numbers of violent incidents was registered in 2009 in the United Kingdom – 374 compared to 112 in 2008; France recorded 195 violent events compared to 50 in 2008; Canada – 138 compared to 13, and the United States – 116 compared to 98. In Germany, the final reports for 2009 shows slight increase in the overall number of Antisemitic manifestations, but report’s authors say the Jewish community there feels threatened.
‘Pre-planned onslaught’
The report notes that the intensity and nature of the wave that began in January 2009 testified to pre-planned mobilization among radicals from the left and among Muslim immigrant communities, resulting in a well-coordinated onslaught which employed a range of Antisemitic tools, including the equation between Jews and Israelis. This equivalence, which has infiltrated the mainstream discourse, is intended to de-legitimize the State of Israel and the Jewish people as a single entity, the authors said.
Radical Muslim leaders cooperate with far left groups, many of which are active on university campuses and which spew an anti-Zionism imbued with Antisemitic overtones and identify strongly with the Palestinian cause, the authors said, noting that Jewish students and Israeli students abroad also number among the leadership of those radical left groups.
According to the report, although extreme right activists still play a significant role in perpetrating Antisemitic incidents, in 2009 most violent cases, especially in western Europe ? where identification was obtained ? were determined to have been carried out by individuals of Arab or Muslim background.
Prof. Porat explained that beyond the numbers, examples and analyses, it could be said that 2009 was a year of anti-Israel and Antisemitic expressions and accusations on the international scene that were unparalleled in their viciousness.
“The repeated demonization of the Jewish state and its supporters as a symbol of all evil and a major source of the world’s troubles overshadows any factual discussion and leads to the implication, whether wittingly or unwittingly, that the elimination of the State of Israel as a Jewish state might bring global salvation,” she stated.
She also noted that there was rampant ignorance of political and historical facts among contemporary youth, for many of whom Israel, Zionism and Jews represent a catchy symbol of evil. Most young people use social networks, like Facebook, as an organization tool.
According to Prof. Porat, when the study began in 1989 only 78 incidents of Antisemitic violence were recorded worldwide. “The numbers over the years are not going down, but only up, and the prominent motives across the world are children and blood, portraying Israel as a country of blood-thirsty people, child killers, and in light of recent report – as organ harvesters as well,” the report says.
Such incidents, it said, involved attacks on Jews or places of worship as well as desecration of cemeteries and accusations of undue Jewish influence on government policy and media.
“New forms of Antisemitism took the form of criticism of Zionism or Israeli policy that crossed the line into demonising all Jews, and in some cases, translated into violence against Jewish individuals in general,” it said.
It accused some governments – like those in Iran and Egypt – of fuelling Antisemitism rather than combating the scourge.

Canada – Antisemitic incidents in Canada reach record high
Antisemitic incidents in Canada rose to record levels, according to B’nai Brith Canada’s annual audit.
The yearly survey released Wednesday showed an 11.4 percent increase in incidents in 2009 over the previous year to reach the highest number ever reported in the audit’s 28-year history.
There were 1,264 anti-Jewish incidents last year, which encompassed acts of harassment, vandalism and violence. That compares to 1,135 incidents in 2008, and represents a five-fold increase over the last decade, B’nai Brith’s League for Human Rights said.
The highest number of incidents for the year, 209, occurred in January, coinciding with Israel’s war in Gaza, noted Frank Dimant, executive vice president of B’nai Brith Canada.
Last year in Canada saw 884 cases of harassment, 348 of vandalism and a doubling from 2008 of acts of violence, at 32.
The majority of incidents, 672, occurred in Ontario. That represents a slight drop over 2008 of 1.5 percent, while incidents in the Greater Toronto Area decreased by 11 percent. However, incidents in other parts of Ontario rose by nearly 50 percent.
There were 373 incidents in Quebec, a 52.5 percent rise over the 2008 data. Of these, 319 incidents took place in Montreal, representing an increase of 58.7 percent over the year before.
Nationally there were 111 incidents targeting Jews in their own homes, compared to 105 in 2008, and 137 incidents on university campuses, well above the 76 reported in 2008.
Another spike in incidens occurred just before Yom Kippur, when 10 synagogues were vandalized across the country, including four in Quebec on one night.
Dimant specifically cited an Islamic community newspaper, which accused Jews and Israelis of mass organ trafficking.

Europe – Study: antisemitism up, Islamophobia down
University of Bielefeld
For the last eight years, the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence at the University of Bielefeld has been running an annual study called “German Conditions” to learn about “group focused enmity“ such as xenophobia, sexism, racism, anti-Semitism, and prejudices against unemployed, disabled, homeless or homosexual people in Germany.
Due to the financial crisis and the fears of the future, poverty and unemployment that are being stoked by that, the researchers expected a rise this year.
But compared to last year’s results (as well as those of 2002), the level of resentment against most minorities declined – sexism and racism even considerably, Islamophobia slightly. There were only two exceptions: Homophobia and antisemitism.
Hatred of both groups is on the rise as they are considered to be found also among people of a high status.
Beate Küpper, one of the study’s main researchers, believes that the financial crisis may in fact be a possible explanation for that. Küpper said that although in comparison to other European countries Germany was on average, it was staggering that in the light of German history, 48% still agreed with Antisemitic statements.
For the first time, the study also compared xenophobia among European countries like Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Poland, and Hungary. According to their findings, the level of prejudices against minorities in Europe is alarming.
About 50.4% of the population agreed that “there are too many immigrants” in their country, 54.4% believe that “the Islam is a religion of intolerance.” Interestingly enough, the percentage of people who believe “that there are too many Muslims” in their country is especially high in those countries that actually have a low percentage of Muslims living in them.
Nearly one-third (31.3%) of the Europeans somewhat or strongly agree that “there is a natural hierarchy between black and white people”. A majority of 60.2% stick to traditional gender roles, demanding that “women should take their role as wives and mothers more seriously.” Some 42.6% deny equal value of gay men and lesbian women and judge homosexuality as “immoral”.
Hiding behind criticism of Israel
Antisemitism is also still widely spread in Europe. The team of scientists from the universities of Amsterdam, Bielefeld, Budapest, Grenoble, Lisbon, Marburg, Oxford, Padua, Paris, and Warsaw found that 41.2% of Europeans believe that “Jews try to take advantage of having been victims during the Nazi era”. The highest degree of affirmation was in Poland – 72%, and the lowest in the Netherlands – 5.6%.
One-quarter of Europeans (24.5%) believe that “Jews have too much influence“, and nearly one-third (31%) agree that “Jews in general do not care about anything or anyone but their own kind.”
On the other hand, 61.9% say that Jews “enrich our culture”, especially in the Netherlands, Britain and Germany.
They study also measured the degree of Antisemitism hidden behind a specific criticism of Israel’s policy towards the Palestinians that uses Antisemitic terms such as “war of persecution” and a generalization to “all Jews”.
Some 45.7% of the Europeans (apart for France, where this facet of Antisemitism was not measured) somewhat or strongly agree that “Israel is conducting a war of extermination against the Palestinians.” About 37.4% agree with the following statement: “Considering Israel’s policy, I can understand why people do not like Jews.”
Overall, the level of Antisemitic attitudes varies quite a lot across Europe with comparably lower levels of Antisemitic attitudes in Britain and the Netherlands and significantly higher levels in Portugal, and especially Poland and Hungary.

The big blue campaign sign for Collier County Commission candidate Georgia Hiller went up Friday.
By Sunday night, it had become evidence in an investigation into a possible hate crime.
A “t” was spray-painted over the first “l” in Hiller’s name, changing it to read “Hitler,” and a “Hitlerian” moustache had been spray-painted on her picture, according to Collier County’s Sheriff Office reports.
“It’s just horrific,” Hiller said Monday. “I can’t believe anybody would do something like this. It’s shocking.
“This is absolutely a hate crime in every sense of the word,” she said. “It’s horrific. It’s absolutely horrific.”
Hiller was raised Protestant but has Jewish family members, including survivors of the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz, she said.

USA – Five charged with committing hate crimes in Sullivan
Five teens charged with hate crimes spray-painted a swastika and spelled out “Hitler” at the Kaiman Bungalow Colony, an Orthodox Jewish summer community on Mount Hope Road.
Around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Deputy Blake Starner spotted several people leaving a bungalow on the grounds.
He made eye contact with one teen, who bolted into the woods; the rest scattered. Starner called for backup and chased the five teens through the woods and onto the Swan Lake golf course.
More deputies, a K-9 unit and state troopers arrived and arrested Daniel Anderson, 19; Travis Beaupierre, 16; Dishawn Terry, 16; Malik Keith, 18; and Daemion Cameron, 19.
The teens are residents of Abbott House, a home in Swan Lake for troubled teens.
They broke into several buildings and stuffed their pockets with stolen items, Detective Sgt. Don Starner said.
There was no immediate evidence indicating the vandalism was motivated by hate. Yet given its timing, there is some cause for concern.
“Because of the proximity of Yom Ha’Atzmaut [Israel Independence Day], and the fact that Adolf Hitler’s birthday and Israeli Independence Day came together this year, I am concerned about the potential that it might be antisemitic activity,” Parris said. “Two of the three Jewish businesses in the Grand Lake area were hit, and there were no reports of anybody else having this experience.”

The fire, which Detective Sgt. John Stillwell of the Lakewood Police Department has called “suspicious” is being investigated by the Lakewood Police Department, Ocean County Fire Marshall, Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Sherriff’s Department Criminalistic Investigation Unit.
The building was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.
Lakewood Mayor Steven Langert believes the fire was an act of hate and called it “despicable and unfortunate. Hate should have no place in our society.”
THIS IS FUNNY AS SHE ISN’T EVEN JEWISH

USA – Antisemitic vandalism to County Commission campaign sign
Georgia Hiller vandalized billboard
Georgia Hiller vandalized billboard

Police in Concord, New Hampshire are looking for the vandals who spray painted hate-filled messages on a parking garage near the statehouse and a local ball field.
The words are graphic and powerful, using racial and religious slurs and sarcastic phrases of hate.
Police aren’t sure who’s behind it, and since they say the extent of this graffiti is unusual in the city, it has caught their attention.

USA – Swastikas in World Chabad Center
A Siddur in 770 (Central headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement) is one of the last places one would expect to find antisemitism, but this was not the case for one the worshiper, who was shocked when he found a number of pages in the Siddur littered with swastikas and crosses.

I don’t see what’s so special about the piece of crud Lerner incident except maybe they thing it is an act of right wing Jews against one of their own/
The above acts of anti semetic vandalism in USA is only from April and of course only a few examples.
So then What’s so special about the dirt bag lerner at least he is a deserving recipient of hate, Jewish hate that is.
Someone put a poster on Lerner’s door that denounced his anti-“Zionism”.
But Holy Ravioli, Batman!
You’d think they had garroted the son of a bitch:
http://www.jta.org/news/article/2010/05/05/2394674/jewish-groups-denounce-attack-on-lerner
The ATTACK!
They bruised kapo’s feelings.
Oh, the inhumanity of it all!
But when Muslims swagger into synagogues and MURDER JEWS…shhhhh! we can’t object because doing so would be Islamophobic.
I wish liberal Jews were tablets of Alka Seltzer.
I would have so much fun.
Hypnotic, isn’t it.
Follow the rotating tush.
Then there’s this one:
“Tabasco enema? No! I said, “Tabasco enchilada!”
But highly unlikely.
It’s possible!!!
Sure but I don’t believe he can. The unity must be secular right leading with a strong national religious component. The Russians who make up the bulk of the secular right won’t accept a religious leadership out of hand. It must be seen to be primarily a secular party with a secular nationalist agenda. That’d the price the national religious must pay for their own disunity from forever.
Principles precede movements. Remember this truism
I like this idea, but only because I can already visualize liberal heads exploding at the thought of yet another Diabolical Zionist Entitity.
Question: But is it even remotely possible?
And the answer is…
I believe that your complaints against Bibi do not hold water, yet. It is my opinion that he is doing the Ali “rope-a-dope with Obama. He knows that the Palis will never agree to his terms for two countries living side by side, so he teases them and keeps the lovers of Islam off Israel’s back.
Until his actions prove otherwise, lay off.
Yamit,
does this mean that if Feiglin were to become the head of a party appealing to the religious and secular right, you would throw your full support behind him?????
Key word: armed. The Jews of Yehuda/Shomron should demand their proportional share of weapons now held by the IDF. Exactly in the proportion that their number represents. After all, they have been taxpayers and thus own part of the IDF. Then they can go about and push out the arabs. Because they (the Jews of Y/S) do have the conviction to do it. Just not the means…….yet. If left unarmed they will be finished off fast by the Pals. Feiglin said Israel is considering abandoning (not expelling) the Jews of Y/S. So, Yamit, you may be into something.
already exists no need to establish
Both states can be connected from the beginning by confederation.
First things first as many Jews as possible must remain even under PA authority where they are. Each armed settlement then must be a vanguard in pushing the Arabs out over time. Jews who remain must relinquish Israeli citizenship which would deny Israel authority to remove them by force. As stateless individuals the UN would have to ensure their wellbeing and basic care. Ea. settlement then would be autonomous and deceide for themselves the rules and laws under which they want to live, etc.
Very embarrassing for the State of Israel and ‘Judea’ could take on the mantle of being the real Jewish State supported I’m sure by all of Ted’s, Laura’s and ayn’s Christian friends.
I have it all worked out and believe in the final analysis this is what will happen.
Feiglin failed precisely because he thought that Likud was the natural home of the secular right, because he thought he could appeal to that constituency. He was wrong, he can’t.
Feiglin’s image of an extremist and a messianic zealot has been well nurtured by Likud members who opposed him as well as the entire israeli media. If he ever wants to appeal to the secular right, he must remove that tag off. He doesn’t have to remove his Kippah, but from within a religious party, he has to come across less religious, otherwise he will never be able to appeal to the israeli right wing secular. I don’t see him as a big ego (nothing compared to Bibi, Tzipi, Olmert, Barak, etc). I think that he could be a national leader but you won’t be able to assess that until you see him with support from within his own party (whatever party he ends up in) as opposed to trying to excel within a party that constantly undermined him.
I support your idea, by steps:
1. Establish the Jewish state of Judea in Yehuda/Shomron. Kick all arabs out.
2. Establish the new secular state of Israel. Kick all the arabs out.
3. Unite both states.
Jewish society is deeply split. On one hand, many Jews believe that preserving Eretz Israel within the boundaries of the Promised Land is
the Jews’ utmost obligation. That Jewish opinion is valid, since it is based on Torah, and some degree of adherence to the Torah is that which makes Jews Jews. Other Jews, mostly secular-minded but some deeply religious Jewish people as well, believe that no Israeli territory is worth the life of a single Jew, since the commandments were given the Jews for life, not for death.
Both kinds of Jews have many other valid arguments. While Jewish adherents of the Eretz Israel argue that only acquiring all the Promised
Land fulfills the Jewish nation’s destiny, the opposing Jews just as reasonably point to the practical impossibility for Israel of
attaining the goal of Eretz Israel in the foreseeable future after Israel transferred Sinai to the Egyptians. Israel conquering Jordan and
Iraq to the Euphrates is a long way off. If Jews cannot fulfill the covenant promise now, why kill a lot of Jewish and Arab people and
spend a lot of Jewish money for the Arab territories, which have no value in themselves and, except Sinai, lack significant defense value
for Israel? Jewish opponents of the Eretz Israel-now goal believe that economic growth of Israel unhindered by Arab-Israeli war would be a
better source of Jewish national pride, prevent emigration from Israel, and attract Diaspora Jews to Israel.
The Israeli government vacillates between those views on the future of Israel. One Israeli government builds a tremendously expensive
Bar-Lev line to protect Israeli Sinai forever; another Israeli government gives up the land, biblically and strategically important for the
Jews, for paper guarantees of Egyptian-Israeli peace. One Israeli government encourages and finances Jewish settlements in the Palestinian
territories; the next Israeli government dismantles the Jewish settlements. Such wild swings of Israeli policy indicate the relative
balance between two Jewish visions of Israeli goals and the impossibility for Israel of bringing the two types of Jews together.
That is only natural, since anybody’s worldview is just a set of axioms. Some Jews believe that the size of the Land of Israel the Jews
control is more important, while other Jews believe that preserving Jewish life and its quality take precedence. It is almost futile to
argue about Jewish axioms, which are matters of conviction.
Israel, however, cannot have two mutually exclusive policies. Under pro-expansion Israeli governments, even the Jews who do not want more
territory for the Jewish state have to fight and die for it, as well as suffer economically from Israeli taxes that finance Arab-Israeli
war. Under conciliatory governments, Jewish biblical partisans watch helplessly as Israeli government gives the Eretz Israel away. In the
long run, no Jews are happy with Israeli government. Everyone, both Israeli groups, want coherent Jewish leadership that shares their
vision of Jewish destiny. That can be achieved.
THE ANS TO THIS CONUNDRUM COULD BE a second Jewish State: Judea,
Two Jewish States one secular and the other religious.
Leftist liberalism is as much a religious cult as any other and as such they are true believers and intolerant of any who differ in thought belief and world view as they.
We have our share and although a minority here in Israel they control all the power. They have succeeded by manipulation and maintaining all that is undemocratic in our system as long as it favors keeping their hegemony on Israels society.
I can almost agree a hundred % of what Feiglin stands for and where he might take us were he or someone like him to ascend to the seat of power in Israel but that would take an exceptional individual that in a republic based on almost absolute populist politics, where almost 50% of the population is on some form of government payroll few are willing to take the risk of having their economic rug removed from under them. Here the devil you know…. wins out. Add to that every time the electorate thought they had voted for positive different national goals and priorities they have been betrayed and get just more of what they thought they had voted against, sometimes like now even worse off than before the vote
We do not need a Mr. nice guy with a good message we need a mr. bad guy. A Jewish Nationalist who can draw the religious right and secular right together united under a unified roof.
Feiglin failed because of his emphasis on religious principles over nationalist ones thereby alienating the secular right who have no political natural home. He could have been a #2or#3 on such a list and sought then to influence from within but he choose a party of carpetbaggers who are right wing RINO (right-wing in name only)
Jews can become religious or more religious by first adopting secular Jewish nationalism and evolving towards religious observance. Feiglin never understood this.
It isn’t the beard of the kippa it is Feiglin. Nice guy but not a national leader and after 11 years one can conclude his ego is larger
than his real worth.
Religious Jews afraid of Israeli government
A KEEVOON Research poll indicates that 72% of the national-religious camp would oppose a Swiss-type minaret ban in Israel. Nationalist Jews, of course, hate Palestinians and their symbols, but understand that they are the next in line: if the government is emboldened to crack down on Palestinians, national-religious Jews are the next likely target for repression.
For that reason, only 53% of ultra-Orthodox Jews would oppose the ban. They are insulated and safe from any government actions.
In the Maagar Mochot poll, a whopping 61% of Israeli youngsters answered that Arabs should have equal political rights with Jews. Even among religious Jews, 18% went against halacha in welcoming Arabs into the Knesset.
Brainwashing does bears fruit
_________________________________________________________
A small crowd of Israeli atheists protested on a Highway 65 near Wadi Ara. The Jews were dissatisfied with the government’s plan to enlarge the planned township for ultra-Orthodox Jews from 50,000 to 150,000.
No place for Religious Jews: not even in desert
He has his work cut out for him because people are painfully superficial, even when the lives of their children are at risk.
If Israelis want someone who shaves, they can support Vanessa Redgrave.
She is a two-fer: no facial hair plus she shaves her legs.
Maybe Feiglin should also lose the glasses and the yarmulke.
He can wear a cowboy hat and claim that he is Garth Brooks.
Who gives a shit about substance when you can obsess about shallow trivia?
Since the prerequisites are personality and charm and being clean shaven, Israelis should elect Obama as prime minister.
Such insanity must be communicable, because it is driving me fucking crazy.
You have good man there – someone who just might prevent another Holocaust – but he is disqualified because (like Moses) he has whiskers.
All well and good.
After Israel is nuked, as dying Hebrews agonizingly writhe amidst the rubble that was once the Jewish State, they can content themselves with the knowledge that Netanyahu’s face was as smooth as a baby’s ass cheeks.
As someone who likes Feiglin and held high hopes for him, it was a wake-up call to witness his total defeat to Bibi. Worth noting is that nobody in the Likud camp expressed support or words of encouragement. He was left alone, just as he was left alone when Bibi demoted him from 20 in the Likud list to 36. So it’s clear he’s finished within the Likud.
The problem now for Feiglin is how to re-invent himself. He’s been minimizing the importance/effectiveness of smaller political parties in Israel for the past decade. Even on this week’s update on Manhigut Yehudit’s website he underlined the importance of waging the political fight within the Likud and not through other smaller parties. So Feiglin has to find a way out, while still maintaining some semblance of respect.
He’s bright, creative and principled. But, as Yamit would agree, he needs a personality and charisma. And if he shaves, who knows, he may still attract lots of attention and support, as his message is radically different from that of the Israeli Center. He certainly has his work cut out for him.
There won’t be a civil war as Isralis are not made of that stuff, up to this point, so not yet.
The religious National Youth are too boy scoutish to fight another Jew.
Easier to let BB give away Y @ S, stay put under the Arabs and fight Arabs instead of Jews. That they have no moral qualms about…
Implications of a Netanyahu left-shift:
If the overwhelming Likud vote for Netanyahu against Feiglin actually represents a strong endorsement of Netanyahu taking Likud leftwards, it has big implications:
1. Netanyahu is now in a position to jettison his right wing coalition and shift to a left wing coalition with Kadima and Labor.
2. Netanyahu now has more leverage to use against his right wing “partners”.
3. The polarization between the religious and the non-religious in Israel is growing greater. The threat of civil war begins to loom in the background.
4. Israel is now weakened against both Obama and Iran, at a time when it would have been far better to be strengthened. (Sinat khinom brought down the Second Temple?)
.
not that kind silly, this kind
divulge all the dirt
Wow.
Looks like that process could get gruesome.
Feiglin in my opinion may be a lightweight Wuss but I believe him to be honest. If he says BB has sold out Jerusalem I believe him. I would have believed that of Bb without Feiglins stamp of Kashrut. I do believe it.
If it is true that he is quiting the Likud, a long overdue move he should begin to divulge all the dirt he must have on BB but withheld till now, for political reasons.
Feiglin leaves the Likud:
1. Feiglin engaged in a showdown against Netanyahu. The odds were in favor of Feiglin, because he merely needed enough support to prevent Netanyah from getting 67% of the vote. Instead, Netanyahu got 77% of the vote. This meant total failure for Feiglin, total repudiation of him by the Likud, and total victory for Netanyahu.
2. Feiglin suspects that Netanyahu, like Sharon, Olmert nad Livni before him, is taking the Likud ever more leftward.
3. Netanyahu in fact describes the Likud as a national and LIBERAL party.
4. This is not good news for those who feel that Netanyahu favors non-believing Jews over religious ones, but hypocritically hides this belief for political purposes, and makes the idea of his cutting secret deals with Obama to divide Jerusalem and abandon the settlements ever more believable.
