  1. If the Newsbud report is true, then

    1. Mueller SHOULD recuse himself as Special Counsel; but also,

    2. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is vindicated in demanding that his ex-ally and current enemy, Fethullah Gülen be extradited to Turkey to stand trial for allegedly trying to overthrow Erdogan’s govenment.

In this nefarious world of intrigue, at which Robert Mueller appears to be at or near the center, it is not easy to find “bad guys” and “good guys”. I, and many of us, have a bad taste in our mouths toward Erdogan — who not only rose to power with the help of Gülen, but has been implicated in supporting other terrorist groups, from the Muslim Brotherhood, to Al Qaeda, to ISIL — all while enjoying the status of an American “NATO Ally”.

Should we give in to Erdogan, and hand over Gülen? Should we make public the secret FBI records concerning BOTH leaders? What we (i.e. the US, from President Trump to Robert Muller on down) have been doing, is coddling one deadly enemy while fighting another — and often, coddling and fighting the same enemy at the same time. That was Reagan policy, GHW Bush policy, Bill & Hillary Clinton policy, GW Bush policy and Obama policy; and it has become Donald Trump’s policy.

When is “enough” enough? I say, give Gülen to Erdogan, and let one terrorist devour another. As for Mueller, it is clear that he should not be the Special Counsel in the current investigation. Getting past his deeply-entrenched allies in the FBI, in State, in the CIA, in the courts, in Congress and even in the White House, though, is almost too much to ask, so it seems.
