Fatwa forbids PA Muslims to emigrate

By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

Sources in the PA Foreign Ministry told The Jerusalem Post that some 10,000 Palestinians have filed requests to emigrate from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year. They said the requests had been approved.

“Every day we hear about hundreds of Palestinians who file requests for emigration with different consulates and diplomatic missions,” the sources said.

“According to our statistics, there are at least 45,000 emigration applications being reviewed by different countries.”

The sources said most of the applicants were young men seeking work abroad. They said the majority of them wanted to move to the US, EU and Canada.

The number of Palestinians who wish to emigrate increased significantly after the second intifada broke out in September 2000. Figures published by a number of Palestinian groups show that 50,000 to 80,000 people emigrated in the first few years after the violence erupted. CONTINUE

  1. Bill:
While your perception of the Arabs is factually correct, the Eurocrats have a different view based on an emotional approach (and boosted by oil interests and classical antisemitism), and that is what the Eurabia cooperation and integration project is about.

The Eurocrats, and Solana is one among them, have a very romantic perception of the powerty, squalor and misery we see in the Arab countries. That is why they anually spend billions on importing this shit to Europe and installing it in European universities, media and public organizations so that their fellow Europeans may learn tolerant and peace loving civilization from them. It is all described and documented in Bat Yeor’s book on Eurabia. Israel should cooperate and assist the EU in its struggle to acquire Gazan conditions in its cities. It is not sufficient for them to have it only in France, where Sarkozy now has put the brakes on.

  2. The EU should be asking themselves, why Arab countries have steadfastly refused to open their doors to Palestinian immigration. For those Palestinians who came to Jordan, Lebanon and other Arab countries during the 1948 Arab Israeli war, they continue to live in abject poverty in refugee camps and are denied by those Arab nations, not only citizenship, but even basic civil rights and access to even basic necessities such as health care.

For the most part the west, ignoring the inhumanity of the Arab world has stepped in to pay for assistance to those Palestinians. The Arab states using the Palestinians for their own political ends and not only allowing, but ensuring that most of them live in miserable poverty is disgusting.

The failure of the filthy rich Arab states in that regard is especially egregious and their immorality, inhumanity and charity for their own people is compounded by those filthy rich Arab states encouraging and supporting Palestinian Jew hatred and terrorism against Israel.

The EU are quick to apply Western standards of morality, decency, values, ethics and justice to themselves and make such standards even more demanding upon Israel, but for much of the Arab world that is bereft of such standards, the West turns a blind or forgiving eye or just seems to adopt the attitude that is just the way things are in the Muslim Middle East and nothing better from them can be expected, let alone demanded lest they are angered and want to take out that anger on other Western nations besides Israel and America.

  3. This issue should be on top of the agenda in meetings with the EU. The EU want these immigrants and has resources for their accomodation. The Arab perception of the project should be the reconquest of al-Andalus.

  4. we can provide the funds and the pressure you can find the visas and we are in business. Best way to solve Israeli Arab conflict. Very moral, very humane, very liberal. Hell what more can all these Anti Semites want? Remember no Arabs no terror. Not all Muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims.
