Love classical music but loathe opera. The fact that I know opera is only to the credit of all those 30’s and 40’s Warner Bros. cartoons I watched in black and white (remember them?) on TV as a child.
I just started a new column for examiner.com which focuses on Jewish issues. political in nature but I am not opposed to religious or community issues. A pessimist, confronted
with two bad choices, chooses both.
I’m still extremely optimistic about Israel. There’s so much aggravating news I must remind myself to see the big picture. Israel is economically and militarily strong, and will get stronger. Its enemies are still dumber than a camel’s ass. Obama is a problem, but a temporary one. Jewish ingenuity will win the day. Now, back to the worrying.
HEBREW, n. A male Jew, as distinguished from the Shebrew, an altogether superior creation.

The Devil’s Dictionary.
Keep that optimism kiddo, we got enough of doomsayers here and we need the bright cheer you and Joy bring with you.
I’m Jewish. I don’t work out. If God had wanted us to bend over, He would have put diamonds on the floor.
Joan Rivers
I couldn’t imagine somebody like Osama bin Laden understanding the joy of Hanukkah.
George W. Bush
I don’t like ‘Ebrews. They work harder; they’re more sober; they’re honest, and they’re everywhere.
John Galsworthy

Every Fri. afternoon they have a food fair in Gan Ha-Ir shopping mall Tel Aviv, where chefs and restaurants and just plain folks sell their specialties very inexpensively and thousands of Israelis come and stuff themselves. Israelis love to eat and this weekly event is a real smorgasbord and culinary delight.
Not bad, I think they copied the idea from Spain. My ex’s father was a well known tenor and Opera lead. Was good friends with Placido, they both started their careers in Tel Aviv Opera.
