The Israeli lock down is religiously and socially divisive and economic suicide. The objective should be to maintain Israel’s robust religious, social and economic functioning. This can be accomplished with currently available inexpensive, tested tools to create and expand “sterile bubbles”
Components of such a program include
1. Universal testing; with a test that is inexpensive and basically self-administered where the results are known within 5 to i5 minutes and cost is under $10
2. Broad administration of prophylactic medication. Hydroxychloroquine is a leading candidate.
3. Immediate effective treatment at first positive test reading and/or at first indication of any symptoms; hydroxychloroquine is a leading candidate
4. for indoors, air management to create the robust equivalent of the outdoor environment.
66% of coronavirus patients infected at home, just 2% at synagogue
Study finds that 2/3 of people with the coronavirus were infected at home. Just 2% were infected at a synagogue.
David Rosenberg, 07/07/20 09:21
Most coronavirus patients in Israel were infected at home, according to a report by Israel Hayom Tuesday morning.
According to the report, research conducted by the Knesset Research and Information Center, nearly two-thirds (65.8%) of people infected with the coronavirus were infected at home, while just 2.2% were infected at synagogues.
…The Knesset Research and Information Center also found that 10.3% of coronavirus patients were infected at school, at university, or at a yeshiva.
A further 5.8% were infected at a medical facility, while 3.9% were infected at an event or conference.
Just 2.0% were infected at shopping centers or stores, with 1.8% infected at nightclubs and other entertainment venues. With regards to the remaining 8.2%, it is unclear where they were infected.
The statistics used in the report cover about one-third of the total number of infections reported in Israel, or just under nine thousand cases.
Are they now going to impose social distancing and mask wearing AT HOME?!
According to my much-despised and ridiculed calculations from official Israeli statistics, that death rate in Israel from COVID-19 is 0.011, which is roughly equal to deaths from the flu. In fact, Israel’s number of deaths from COVID-19 is actually less from her number of deaths from the flu for an equivalent 15-week period. These figures are unique to Israel, which obviously has done a much better job in containing the virus and healing COVID patients than in most other countries where the virus has spread. The over-all death rate for Israelis in 2020 has actually been less than in 2019 for the same period–which is truly amazing.
Whatever the cause of the very high, disproportionate death rate among Jews in the diaspora, I don’t know the reason, a better medical system in Israel than in in Britain and the United States is almost certainly one factor.
@ Michael S: Many reasons have contributed to the increase in Jewish deaths in the UK. The Jewish population in the UK is aging rapidly, and old people die in greater numbers than young people. The elderly are more at risk for COVID-19 than younger people. A disproportionate number of Jews live in COVID-19 “hotspots,” such as London, where there many more cases than in British small towns and villages, where few Jews live. There are a disproportionate number of Jews who live in nursing homes, which have been especially hard hit by the virus. A disproportionate number of Jewish deaths have been in the ultraorthodox community, where people live, study and pray together in very close quarters, and people are very touchy-feely. Unfortunately, that has raised the Jewish death rate. Jewish religious law requires that people be buried, while non-Jews and non-religious Jews are often cremated. That inevitably means that more Jews who die are buried than in the general population.
This is evidence that the novel coronavirus is indeed killing people long before they would otherwise have died — something which, to elderly Jews like many readers here, is a matter of great importance.
“To put this into proportion, each year in Israel, about 1,200 people die of the flu and flu-related complications during the 14-week flu season. That amounts to an average daily fatality rate of about 12.5, or well over twice the peak daily fatality rate during the first wave of the coronavirus.” (I bolded these words). From an article in today’s Arutz Sheva by David Rosenberg. Rosenberg also points out that the number of daily deaths in Israel from COVID-19 has declined by about two-thirds since April. Not sufficient reason to continue locking down the economy and closing schools.
Actually, the scientific evidence for the effectiveness of remdesivir is even less than what Dr. Zelenko indicates. An article published on May 12, 2020 by the Oxford-University-Affiliated EBM (Evidence-Based Medicine) professional journal pointed out that that the study which Fauci claims demonstrates that remdesivir is effective has never even been published or peer reviewed. The results from it that have been published are brief press releases. There is no published or peer -reviewed evidence that remdesivir is effective for treating COVID-19 for any disease. A published and peer-reviewed study by Chinese doctors who tested remdesivir on Wuhan patients concluded it had no benefits whatsoever for COVID-19 patients.

Sheba Tel-Hashomer Hospital Infectious Diseases Unit head Professor Galia Rahav and former Health Ministry Director Professor Yoram Lass debated coronavirus as part of the Maariv conference.
Prof. Lass argued, “We’re talking only about data and not personal experience. The data say that there was no first wave in Israel. The word epidemic cannot be used when there’s no excessive mortality. In Europe, excessive mortality was only 15 percent, more than the 2018 influenza excessive mortality.
“The European epidemic ended 3 weeks ago, with no second wave of mortality. I’m not avoiding debate about the U.S., but it’s the country with the worst public health system in the world. And back to Israel, there’s certainly no second wave. An honest person can’t talk about an epidemic when mortality goes down.” ” And for this, Israel has destroyed its economy? Also, the U.S. and Europe?

Adam, convincing you of anything seems difficult at best; but for the sake of the readers, I will post this:
“During the time span between March and May of this year, a time span assessed specifically for the outbreak of the coronavirus, the largest Jewish burial boards carried out 811 funerals, compared to the 358 deaths carried out during the same time period in 2019, marking an increase of 127%.”
