You are correct, in saying that many places in the US are named after people who no longer live in those areas. Examples are Illinois, Iowa, Alabama, Arkansas and Texas.

Thank you for the clarification: John Mark was indeed proposing an alternative to democracy — namely, dictatorship, “permanently benevolent”, of course.
I think that in the eyes of many (not my own), that would be the nature of the thousand-year “Messianic Kingdom”. The “thousand years” comes from the New Testament, not Hitler; but we can be pretty sure der Führer got this inspiration from die Heilige Schrift. Hitler, no doubt, thought himself to be the “permanently benevolent” dictator that John Mark believes the world needs.
The title if JM’s article seemed to insinuate that the “benevolent dictatorship” would come about through a civil war; and that the “benevolent” party would win because the good guys have the most guns. I seem to recall that JM counted the military in with the “good guys”; and indeed, it is the military that tipped the balance in Russia, Germany and Spain in the early 1900s. I imagine that’s usually the case.
Concerning belevolent dictatorships, my opinions are:
1. There are no truly benevolent dictatorships (Even King David blew it a couple of times and brought curses down on the land), nor are there any truly benevolent democracies, and
2. When the real Messiah comes, the one who will “rule the nations with a rod of iron” (Pss 2:9; Rev 2:27, 12:5, 19:15), he will do so through God’s people:

I believe that humans are animals and mammals, and not all that different in some respects than other mammalian species. In general when mammals can interbreed together and produce fertile offspring without any difficulty, they may be different “varieties” with some slight difference in appearance, but there are almost never any discernable differences in intelligence, and at most very slight behavioral differences. For example, grey wolves look a little different from red wolves, but they both behave and think like wolves. And they can mate and reproduce without difficulty. Red foxes and grey foxes look a little different, but behave and appear to think exactly the same, and they can produce fertile offspring without difficulty. Even wild bison can interbreed easily with domestic cattle. As a result, there are almost no “pure” bison (buffaloes) left in the United States, but a fairly large number of Mixed-breed bison, which are raised like cattle. The two sub-species of bovine creatures behave the same way when in a “wild” state, and there is absolutely no indication that one is more intelligent than the other. Bison meat is a bit tougher and leaner than domestic beef. The doctors say its healthier, but most people prefer domestic beef.
Human beings of all “races” interbreed together with no difficulty, producing “half-breed” children, and seem to be sexually attracted to each other regardless of race. There don’t seem to be much in the way of differences in height or weight, either. All peoples seem to have complex spoken languages with a roughly equal number of words that are in frequent everyday use. It is possible to translate ideas and even books into almost any language. All this makes it unlikely that there are any significant differences in intelligence between different races. Races are a variety difference, not a species difference.
Of course there are genetically inherited differences in intellectual ability between different individuals, and these are usually at least partially genetic in origin. Some parents may well produce more gifted children than other sets of parents. But if you are comparing millions of people of one “race” with millions of people of another “race,” these differences are likely to average out to more or less the same, the same way different breeds of foxes and wolves are probably of the same average intelligence, although some individual animals may be slightly more intelligent than others.
How intelligent can the “white” race be, in any case, when they blew each other’s brains out by the millions in World Wars One and Two without accomplishing any useful results at all? How intelligent were white Southerners to attempt to secede from the Union, when anyone with common sense could have seen that this was suicidal, and would result in the destruction of their way of life , property, cost them the flower of their young manhood, etc? There was never any possibility that they could win a war when they were outnumbered four to one, and the other region had nearly all of the manufacuring plants, produced nearly all the food, etc., and when two-fifth of their own population could reasonably be expected to support the other side (and did). Far from protecting slavery, which was their professed goal when they seceded, their rash actions put an end to slavery far sooner than would otherwise been the case, causing a massive destruction of their economic base, and plunging millions of whites into generations of extreme poverty . If they were more intelligent than their black slaves, who benefited from their stupidity, would the white Southerners have behaved this way? All of their wealth and education didn’t save them from being ______holes.

There are several ancient countries whose names have been taken up by modern countries:
“Israel” dates to before 1000 BC, the “Ysrael” if the Bible;
“China” dates ti before 200 BC, wuth the “Qin” dynasty, and earlier, when the land was called “Chinasthana” in Sanskrit;
“India” comes from “Sindhu”, the Sanskrit word for the Indus River. Before 200 BC, the Persians called the subcontinent “Hindustan”. India was never unified politically, until the British Raj of 1857, and did not become independent until 1947, a year before modern Israel. What constitutes modern China, likewise, did not become independent until 1912, when the foreign Qings were overthrown; and to this day, it is still not unified; but rival governments in Beijing and Taipei both claim to rule “One China”. These three countries: Israel, China and India, speak languages descended from those of their forebearers, and practice the ancient religions to a considerable degree.
No country has continued with the same name as an independent state for more than a few hundred years. The majority of countries are younger than modern Israel. Most of those bear their former colonial names, such as “Australia”, “South Africa”, “Nigeria”, “the Congo”, “the Philippines” and “Cuba”. Some others have come up with brand new names, such as “Pakistan” and “Burkina Faso”.
Many countries have adopted ancient names inappropriately: “Ethiopia”, for instance, descends from ancient Axum (ancient “Ethiopia” is properly modern Sudan); modern “Mauritania”, built where ancient Ghana existed, is named after an ancient kingdom in modern-day Algeria; whereas modern “Ghana” is located on the site of ancient Akan. There actually were a “Palestinian” people in ancient times, known in the Bible as the “Philistines”. IMHO (in my honest opinion) since the Arabs had engaged with the Nazi Holocaust on many levels, since they had joined with the Nazis in the Holocaust against the Jews, since they intended to murder all Jews in Palestine, since their leader was Hajj Amin el Husseini, the Jews just had to on winning the 1948 war totally clear the Jewish Homeland of all Arabs.

So here is a story I heard from Niall Toibin. It was the time of the petrol cuts. Two Dublin guys had to get to a golf tournament in a big course in Kerry, and incidentally there are some great ones there. So bit by bit, a gallon here, a half gallon there, they made their way. Got to Kerry, as far as a little deserted village, driver gets out to stretch his legs, tank empty, squinted up the street and thinks he sees something a bit like a pump. Getting there sees it is a pump AND a bar. Entering an old girl at the far counter in the gloom. I see you have a petrol pump outside. Aye that right. But there is no petrol till the morning. They have promised the lorry will be here. OH OH but that means we will have to stay the night. He hee hee god you Dublin boys are quick. Well then I will look for a hotel. Hotel Hotel Hotel motioning upstairs. You can stay here. Get your breakfast. Petrol and off you go to your golf. All went as planned. Got to the golf and back home. Felt good. Good friends.

About two months ago I was recording something at a roadside cafe. An old Spanish woman was tying up her bike with difficulty. Eventually she got the lock to close. As she went by I said to her in Spanish it needs some oil. Later as I listened to the recording our words were there by accident and I said to myself, I am not me, that is my Irish Uncle speaking. It was me but it could easily have been him. That is genetics. We are our parents. Each parent passes on this genetic material to their children. They mix together. Something new, yet old, is created.
As I see and understand it, the Jews in the midst of their threatening situations more than anything, also involving a deep religious conviction, made their strict laws, for preservation. Islam was a big corruption of this. Islam did this for the aim of destruction of non Muslims. Jews did this because they had a mission of well being for all of humanity. It is night and day. Hence enemies.
It is the power of science that we understand this at all. Gregor Mendel in his ultra simple experiment on peas opened the door to understanding of the deepest human, animal and historical questions.

Yes some land was “confiscated”. Perhaps expropriated is a better choice of word. I think the court Court approved of this when the case was made that the land was needed for military purposes.

Without reading more the the first sentence-so far- I hurry to put down my thought….That is…that the way and amount of education absorbed by the individual, depends in a very large way to the amount of intelligence the person was born with, he is not for long a tabula rasa.. it’s not a circular argument. A stupid, low IQ person, will poorly absorb or only peripherally understand an educational or environmental amount…more from the latter than the former.. It’s easy to see that a major reason that wealthy families might produce higher goal (not more intelligent) children than those of poorer families is because with greater assets they have more open vistas and opportunities to learn. (But the less intelligent rich kids, just get into more trouble)
Then even with high IQ people, character flaws must come into it. This is a monster subject, with any amount of “pitfalls” and I’m not going to get more entangled in it. (thus showing my high IQ…??)

Also, contrary to some of your assertions, great civilisations DID emerge in the interior of Africa and flourished for hundreds of years.

I listened to about 20% of the recording — enough to get a substantial sampling of what John Mark was saying. My conclusion was that JM was leading us down a rabbit trail of transfers, connecting leftists with socialists with women with instincts with control by special interests with democracy, etc. He stated his conclusion, before even presenting his case; and that conclusion is that Democracy isn’t just doomed, but ought to be doomed because it is a bad form of government.
OK. Without straining my mental gears, I know that JM wants to throw out democracy. Hopefully, he wants to replace it with something else. He wants to toss out something that has worked in the US since 1620, longer than any system of Western govenment except monarchy; a system which, I might add, IS NOT BROKEN.

I agree. The sky really is falling. The Bible tells me so. We’re all going to die. I even checked my genealogy, back over 400 years. Every one of my ancestors died; none lived more than 120 years. Even in Yamit’s line of heroes and supermen, nobody lived beyond 1000 years old. We’re doomed! not just democracy; the demoes themselves, US — we’re all doomed!
So? I’m not concerned that the sky is falling. I am concerned that lunatics, Democrats and world-fixers might do some really stupid things, trying to keep it from falling. They will certainly do extreme things, like destroying our democratic system, to “save the world” — starting with getting rid of our democratically-elected president. They may succeed and they may not. I also have no doubt that the new world rulers, however they scramble to the top of the heap, will hate Israel; because they hate the God of Israel; because they themselves want to be God. They will certainly do this. My own main concern is that God’s people should be aware of these things, and not be upset from them. Our hope is not in this world, nor in its systems; it is in the sky — in the part that will not fall, and never be shaken.

@ yamit82: We didn’t steal their land. It never belonged to them in the first place. There were some individual Arab landowners and some Arab tenant farmers, agricultural laborers, etc. But most of the land was uninhabited and uncultivated when the first Jewish settlers began to arrive circa 1882. Jews bought substantial amounts of land from Arab landowners, usually at exhorbitant prices. Then the Arabs launched a war which they openly proclaimed was to exterminate the Jewish minority and seize their land. Palestinian guerillas killed about two thousand Jews, of whom half were civilians. The Jews gradually confiscated some, but by no means all, Arab owned land in “Palestine,” because the Arab-owned land and the produce from it had been used by the Arab forces, inncluding the Plaestinian guerrilla-terrorists, as bases of operation and sources of supply for armed attacks on Jews during the war. Since the Arab governments refused to end the war, and instead continued small-scale hostile operations, such as continued guerilla raids and a blockade of the Suez Canal, the danger to Israeli lives. of leaving a lot of land in the possession of Arab owners was real. I don’t think requisitioning this land for legitimate purposes of national security should be considered theft. If they had not decided on war, and a war of annihilation at that, most Arab owned land in pre-1967 Israel would either still be owned by Arabs, or have been sold by them voluntarily for substantial profits.
The Israeli Supreme Court has ruled that allland in Judea-Samaria is considered to be privately owned Arab land unless the government of Israel can provide absolute proof to the contrary. The government has rarely even attempted to do so. Thus the Arabs of Palestine contunue to own very large tracts of land.
Prior to Jewish settlement, the Turkish (not Arab) government of Palestine claimed ownership of nearly all land in the name of the Turkish Sultan, who was not a “Palestinian.” Arab owners are probably recognized as owning more land in Israel/Palestine than they did under the Turkish and British regimes.
There never was an Arab country named “Palestine.” Non=Palestinians have always owned most of the land in Palestine since Biblical times. You can’t steal from people what was never theirs in the first place.

Poor whites don’t test signicantly higher than poor blacks, whites from broken homes with no father figure and/or brought up in a eries of foster homes, etc., test about the same as blacks brought up in siimilar circumstances. Black children of middle class black professionals test about the same as the children of middle class white professionals. The reason that the average black test scores are lower is probably that black incomes average only 63 per cent of white incomes, and consequently there are more blacks raised in broken homes and single-parent housholds, etc. As to why blacks tend to be poorer than whites, 350 years of first slavery, then segregation, is more likely to the cause of black poverty than any innate racial differences.
Civilization developed more slowly in Africa than in the other continents because of the awful climate prevailing in most of the continent, and the prevalence of disease bearing mosquitos that made most people to sick tto work and kept the population down, the extreme prevalence of disease in the river valleys, which made them uninhabitable (even now in many cases) even though they had the most fertile soil. Africa they were all unusable for these purposes, except for the Nile, where civilization did develop. Most of the continent was and is either bone dry desert or insect, snake and crocadile infested jungle. The African savannah was for millennia overrun with elephants and other large herd animals that devoured all the crops. Horses were used successfully to hunt large animals in Europe and Asia, but horses couldn’t survive in Africa south of the Sahara. Instead they had zebras, which no one, not even white men, have ever succeeded in taming and riding. Locusts attack the crops every year in most parts of Africa that can grow crops at all. In the Middle East, it is only once every seven years or so, and they rarely strike in Europe. Cities in Europe and Asia were essential to the growth of civilization. But whenever Africans south of the Sahara congregated in cities, they died like flies from infectious mosquito-born diseases. Cities only developed when Europeans introduced modern medicine. In Europe and Asia, disease-bearing insects were less numerous, cities could thrive, despite a fairly high death rate before modern medicine evolved modern medicine evolved. Carpenter ants devoured wooden buildings in Africa, making them unusable, which created another obstacle to civilization. In many parts of Europe and Asia, settlers from civilized areas, such as Christian missionaries, brought civilization to areas where it had not previously existed, such as northern and eastern Europe and Scandinavia. In most parts of subsaharan Africa, people from civilized countries who tried to settle in them, including missionaries, died almost immediately from disease.
The slave trade also retarded Africans progress towards civilization. Both the Arabs and the Europeanspaid some of the more “developed” tribes to seize slaves from the more primitive tribes and sell them to the Arab and European slave traders. this led to constant wars and massive disruptions of African societies, as the strongest people were removed from the continent, and millions died while being transported, keeping the population down for centuries.
Africans fell behind not because they were dumber than other people, but because they were born in the wrong continent. Once enslaved in the Americas and the Middle East, of course they were kept in ignorance and denied an education. A tradition of education and upward mobility failed to develop. Not their genes but their society is the cause.

There is no question but that different races test differently.But that difference is due only in part to your race but also to your environment. 60,000 years ago the human race lived in Africa and started to migrarte out..Their IQ was determined by where they settled.

In addition, a very large proportion of the epopulation in the U.S. and most other countries are of mixed racial origins, making the entire concept of separate races questionable.
If blacks are an inferior race, how do you explain the fact that the ancient Ethiopians and Nubians developed civilization long before most Europeans did? How do you explain that the ancient Egyptians, whose paintings reveal that they were very dark skinned and had a lot of black-African “blood,” were the first civilization? And how do you explain a jet black genius like Leopold Senghor?

On the practical level, the “hard right” is unlikely to win a civil war if they attempt it, because most Americans, including white Americans, dislike them. A massive repression of the right and a leftist dictatorship is more likely. Marks and his ilk don’t realize that a lot of black people have guns, too, and proportionately speaking have more experience using them in “real life” street situations than most whites. Of course leftists own lots of guns, too, even if their theoretical position is for gun control. Leftist public positions have no relationship to their actual attitudes and behavior (to a large extent true of the right, too, although rightists are somewhat more honest about their self-centered meism.)
If there is a civil war in America, the result will not be a victory for either the right or the left, neither of which is well-organized enough or has enough support to seize power. The result would be total chaos, mass starvation, the breakdown of all social services and the production and distribution of goods, including food. I don’t think it will happen. More likely, most people will go back to sleep again once Trump leaves office. But if it does break out, both the left and the right will carry out pogroms against the Jews, just as they did during the Russian civil war of 1918-22. Hating the Jews is the one thing the left and the far right agree on.
If a civil war breaks out here in earnest, Jews will be well advised to get to Israel in a hurry. Neither side will show any mercy to us.

In Ireland for instance, one can come across an impossibly sized church seemingly sitting in the middle of nowhere………… On enquiring into the history, one finds that it was built for and by the group of villages that surrounded it, many years ago…….But……the villages are now only scattered moldering ruins, or gone altogether- the church being far better built, is still there, ….
