I initially disagreed with this perspective and thought that it would be in Israel’s interest to stake its claim to how the peace might be managed before the US and others forced Israel to submit to their will. I have, however, concluded in recent weeks just the opposite, that Israel should maintain an open mind as to how she will proceed after the war, and ignore the demands being made by her ‘allies’ which are contrary to her own interests…as you say, one thing at a time.
