T. Belman. I was born in 1937 and grew up close to the Toronto Jewish community. After the war, fellow Jews would tell me about this riot with great pride for having fought back. The riot lasted 6 hours.

My Father age 25 in 1933 was among the Jews along with close Italian friends who participated in the riot and his description of the confrontation was of pride courage and satisfaction in the outcome in confronting the Anglo Mob and existing Wasp bigotry.
