  1. @Edgar G. I’ve heard that one. I’m guessing you know this one.

“Dear Quote Investigator: The sharpest and funniest retort I know of was said in response to a harsh insult:

You, sir, will certainly either die upon the gallows or of a social disease.

That depends, sir, upon whether I embrace your principles or your mistress.
Can you tell me who spoke these lines?

Quote Investigator: Many versions of this dialog have been presented in books and periodicals over a span of more than two hundred years. In addition, the participants in this verbal thrust and parry have varied in different renditions. Here are five pairs of antagonists that have been proposed:

    (1) 4th Earl of Sandwich and Samuel Foote.
    (2) A Nobleman and James Quin.
    (3) 4th Earl of Sandwich and John Wilkes.
    (4) William Ewart Gladstone and Benjamin Disraeli.
    (5) 4th Earl of Sandwich and Charles James Fox.
The earliest evidence located by QI was published in a London periodical called “The European Magazine” in 1784. A bracing encounter between Lord Sandwich and Samuel Foote was described. Boldface has been added to excerpts below:[1]”

  2. SEBASTIEN-

    Good jokes.

“On a train a man sat beside a pretty young Jewish matron,Around her neck was a chain with a huge diamond… He asked he about admiringly

“It’s the Flegheimer diamond, 40 carats -nearly as big as the Hope Diamond. Also just like the Hope, it comes with a curse (coise)”..”Oh,” said the man, “what king of curse”…”the worst kind” (voist)…

It’s old Mr. Flegheimer himself. !!!

Poorly told, when I heard it it sounded much better)

  3. FELIX-

Perhaps “Letters to Editors. Failing that a small outlined advert

Both good publicity which is what you want.

  4. I see that the Religious Right have come out strongly for Sovereignty, and also that Ben Gvir has demanded and received the promise, inserted into the agreement that terrorists will be executed.

However, I hae me doubts as there is a proviso that it will occur “in certain circumstances”.,,,which may be Netanyahu’s “wriggle room”.

Also a majority of 71 is sufficient.

I don’t see any need for Knesset here, as the issue is already part of the Law, although never exercised. the excuse for not doing so to me is very feeble. Ghetto talk.

    |All that’s needed is the guilty verdict from the court. And, as most terrorists are either caught in thre sct, or known and tracked down, assuming that they are serious this time, it might be an idea to buy shares in some Arab mortuary company.

But FIRST, I would like to see JUSTICE for Ben Ulliel, and severe penalties for his torturers and the counts which convicted and confirmed his guilt. PLUS Much compensation taken from their salaries and bank accounts. in fines and other penalties.

    “Gan Aden”…….

  6. For anyone serious about

This interview of over an hour is a very uncomfortable listen. John Meirsheimer is an American Professor with a clear, highly organised mind. Do YOU wish to be incinerated in a Third World War and is there a risk of just that?

  7. @Edgar G. Oooh, ya got me. Right where it Herz. “Wounded to the quick”, as they say in Texas. I am remiinded of:

    What’s in a Name?

“A Jewish man and a Chinese man are in a bar. Suddenly, the Jewish man punches the Chinese man in the face.

“Ow! Why did you do that?” asks he Chinese man.

“That’s for Pearl Harbor,” says the Jewish man.

“But the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. I’m Chinese!” says the Chinese man.

Chinese, Japanese, what’s the difference?” asks the Jewish man.

So the Chinese man punches the Jewish man.

“Ow! What’s that for?” asks the Jewish man.

“It’s for the Titanic,” says the Chinese man.

“What? That was an iceberg that brought down the Titanic!” says the Jewish man.

    “Iceberg, Goldberg, what’s the difference?”

  9. SEBASTIEN-

Sorry to spoil your little quip, but you have “the wrong guy”..

Allan Z.,Hertz is the owner of the Blog Audi Alteram Partem, from which I picked out the” Napoleon and the Jews of the Ottoman Empire”.

Ted put me in touch with Hertz thinking we’d hit it off, and I saw the item I was most interested in. a terrific bog massive in depth commentaries, choice subjects. utterly superior of its kind.

Peloni, how are you coming along with it…?

So dream on poor player, “All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merey platers”. …I’m sure you’re one of the men.

  10. Peloni I agree with all of that

Just to add that Ukraine is a powerful and rich place and Hitler also knew this fact, which is an important fact. I have read much about the intentions of the Nazis in Ukraine and this has become a propaganda war moving US and EU into Fascism the signs are there, with Jew Hatred still on tap as well.

Redacted were very aware. Merkel was fooling with Russia in 2015 so called Agreement.

All in all it is a very confusing situation and an example is what Sebastien wrote. He could see the play to the feminism Zelensky makes but too many swallow it.

As I see it people too many get some truth but only part, and many cannot grasp the whole scene as it were.

So much but in essence there are so many mountains of lies being set up.

Note it’s not the social media that’s the problem but the deluge of lies that descend on say Twitter.
    .
Some points you made there are valuable thanks for the great efforts.

  11. @Felix
Thank you for your generous words.

As to “the real beginning of what we could truthfully think of Joe Bidens World War of 2023”, I would place it in 2014. The reckless bunch of radicals who purposefully blew up the Budapest Memorandum did so to achieve a war with Russia – there is simply no other explanation for the fact of what they did, as brazenly as they did it, even as they were warned by the Russians that they knew they were doing it weeks before it was done. I am of course referencing the Maidan Coup and the Russian release of the Nuland ‘F*** the EU’ phone call two weeks prior to the Coup.

All of this took place 6yrs after Russia declared that any move into Russia or Georgia by NATO were Red Lines for Russian geopolitical security concerns, ie it would be perceived to be an existential threat by Russia. So the US knew exactly the serious resolve with which Russia perceived any NATO investment or encroachment into Ukraine.

Despite this fact, the US overthrew a Russian majority govt, banished its president, chased off numerous other Russian members of parliament, overturned the stability between the minority Russian population and the Nationalists to the point that it caused a war (speaking of 2014) in which Nazi and nationalist troops were to be financed, armed and trained by NATO.

So, there can be little doubt that the US would have an expectation that Russia would react with force to such a scenario. What confounded things in 2014 was the fact that Russia exercised significant restraint and actually did not go to war. In accordance with the well violated Bucharest Memorandum, Russia went to the UN and demanded the Ukrainian war against the minority Russians be halted to uphold the rights of minorities as is stipulated with the OSCE, which is cited as a contingent part of the BM. Of course, the Ukrainians had no interest in peace, nor did their NATO masters, that is until the Ukrainians were thrown back on their heels and were facing a significant defeat in late 2014, which is when Minsk 1 was agreed to, but never acted upon.

This is getting a bit deep in the weeds, but a similar situation was the cause for the generation of Minsk 2 as well in Feb 2015. Recall that both Pres. Poroshenko and Dmytro Yarosh, the former head of the Right Sector, both stated the Minsk agreements were only used to buy time and not to seek peace, and their Western pay masters never pushed them to do so, or at least not before Trump.

As to the coup attempts against Trump, I believe that the multifaceted coup launched against him was to hold him away from Russia – recall he was going to bring the US and Russia closer together which would have ended the Washington war fever – but it was also to distract him from sorting out the missing $4-6 billion in USAID money that was laundered thru Kolomoisky’s Privat Bank and likely back to the Dems and Reps and their black op projects (including Russiagate and Ukrainegate) thru the foreign donations coming from Ukraine, from which the donations were quite significant, over $200 million in just 2018 going to both parties. Hence, I don’t believe that the coup against Trump began the march towards war. Instead, the fever pitch insanity against Trump was to prevent Trump from succeeding in his policy of rapprochement with Russia.

Just my own thoughts, of course, but I believe they are reasonable enough.

  12. I would think that people like Caroline Glick are very familiar with the Holocaust in Ukraine and to the role played by this Ukrainian Fascist movements played.

But Glick who is only one of many seems to be pretty silent on the connections of history to the present.

I just wonder why that would be?

Not have I heard much from others, like Redacted. It gives welcome news about the present but zero historical content appears.

And I would like to hear people like this ex army MacGregor also on the history.

This is especially important because Anthony Snyder’s interpretation of history (Bloodlands” is downright false.

The Famine was not a specifically Ukrainian famine but was in all of the Union; nor was it an ethnic attack on Ukraine but was the result of other things very possible to understand.

Everything they write and do is to divert from the Ukrainian Fascist role in the Holocaust.

Robert Conquest began this trend in the 1980s in his book Harvest of Sorrow.

All of these false interpretation of history, lies, have to be challenged.

I find those who deal with the present as if the present has no past as being very problematic

There are so many now active in hiding their role in the Holocaust. One purpose behind this vast lie machine is to obscure the enormity of the present full-on alliance between America and this real Fascism of the present.

This does not mean I agree with the POLITICS of Putin but the fact is Russia in its way is fighting against Fascism and America is in alliance with Fascism.

So of course there’s no middle ground there.

  13. The Jen I referenced but did not source was on a discussion on Moon of Alabama, and that site was referred to by.the guy on Redacted piece that Ted carried just now.

  14. Peloni good to get your valued knowledge on this. Particularly interested in the coup against Trump when it became clear the Dems and FBI were in danger of losing the election as 2016 wore along, which is possibly the real beginning of what we could truthfully think of Joe Bidens World War of 2023.

Sebastien in my remark I meant that America is a very big place with a strong tradition of speaking up, hard to suppress that quality and I see it as here – a person call Jen writes in about Zelensky and how he may be “demoted” by Azov.

“President Zelensky certainly sounds very desperate now but I suspect that even if NATO were able to supply what he asks for in a timely manner (as in, several months ago), it will not be enough to save his career as a politician and maybe not enough to save his skin. If he is wise, he should be planning his escape to Israel or some other country willing to take him as a permanent exile. The longer he stays in Kiev or Lvov or anywhere in Ukraine, the more likely his life is in danger – from neo-Nazis and other extremists angry at Ukrainian defeat, from soldiers angry at his leadership and conduct of the war, and from the SBU. A prison in a remote part of Siberia is looking like the only safe place on the planet for Zelensky.

    @Sebastien
    Re: Ukrainian Court
This situation is not what it is being sold as, actually not even close. It should always be recognized that the term ‘reform’ in Ukraine should be read as (fake cough) consolidation of power.

Ukraine is a political, legal, judicial and social quandry of power for sale, and its many elements of power are all relatively, if not equally, corrupt, turtles all the way down as they say. Consequently, the disbanding of the Pavlo Vovk’s Kyiv court has been something which the Western installed govts of Poroshenko and Zelensky have been pursuing since the Maidan Coup against Victor Yanukovych, who it should be noted was a political ally of Vovk, the judge in question. After the Maidan, a policy of lustration was announced to eliminate various judges who controlled significant judicial positions and appointment authorities throughout the country. Lustration was initially delayed due to the outbreak of war, but it was revisited in 2016-7 and among the prime targets for the lustration policy was Vovk and his court. In an effort to maintain his significant and expanding role in the judiciary, Vovk allied himself with the notorious Arsen Avakov (Interior Minister who was held in power by his association with the Azov Battalion), and at the last moment, Poroshenko had a change of heart on cancelling Vovk’s court. That was in 2017.

Following this rapprochement between Vovk and Poroshenko, it was Vovk who, in 2019, cancelled Poroshenko’s nationalization plan for Kolomoisky’s Privat Bank, which was a popular political victory for Poroshenko. This was on the cusp of the 2019 elections, when Kolomoisky’s significant political support was expected to lead to Zelensky’s victory over Poroshenko, which in fact it did. This is a very complicated story which has more spurs than a cactus (including the still unresolved theft of billions of USAID dollars), but this demonstrates Vovk’s ability to maintain his position against all odds and to support the political will of whomever the wind turned towards. Despite his political dexterity to please the nationalists in power, Vovk also continued to parse out some rulings which went back to his roots as a pro-Ukro-Russian advocate, such as cancelling the renaming of Moskovskiy Avenue to Stepan Bandera Avenue, much to the irritation of the nationalists.

It should be recalled that Vovk was a close associate of Yanukovych, but he was also initially endorsed for his judgeship by Viktor Medvedchuk, the close associate of Putin whose political party was banned, and who was himself arrested and beaten over one year ago, held for political ransom and was finally traded to Russia in exchange for Ukrainian soldiers three months ago.

The NABU is mentioned in the Reuter report as

    “Ukraine’s national anti-corruption bureau”

but it should be recalled that the NABU is part of the Soros-Clinton organization which was employed to impugn the reputation of the prosecutor which Biden had fired – “well, what do you know, the son of a b**** got fired”, yeah, that prosecutor. NABU also was involved in the framing of Paul Manafort, and the Russiagate hoax, among a great many other things.

In Ukraine, reform is a cat call for a power play over who controls the corruption in the state, not over the elimination of corruption itself. The public demand for reform of the corruption is what was used in 2004 to setup the Orange Color Revolution and again in 2014 to setup the even more ambitious Maidan Color Revolution. Ukraine is a mafia state, run by gangsters on both sides, of which only one side was co-opted to be controlled by the US. Every move towards reform by this US installed and financed regime should be recognized as being simply a move towards further US domination and control in the state.

Nobody cares about reform in Ukraine but the Ukrainian people, and since the Maidan, nobody cares about the Ukrainian people at all.

  16. @Felix

Many Americans are seeing through Biden and Zelensky.

Really? How do you know? Nobody talks about Ukraine anymore. I have to go to Israpundit – and occasionally Tucker Carlson – for news. 😀

  17. Sebastien re the Court

Many Americans are seeing through Biden and Zelensky.

They distrust Zelensky because they distrust the Democratic Party

So they will distrust things like this and see it as a trick.

  18. KYIV, Dec 13 (Reuters) – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy hailed his dissolution on Tuesday of a Kyiv court as evidence Ukraine can fight to end a history of corruption and Russia’s invasion at the same time.

“This story has drawn to a close,” he said as he announced he had signed a law liquidating the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities had compared to a criminal organization and whose chairman was hit with U.S. sanctions Dec. 9.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/zelenskiy-shuts-court-says-ukraine-can-fight-graft-russia-same-time-2022-12-14/

  19. I would like to see it discussed more clearly. Political parties are banned. Leadership are jailed. Terrorist acts take place. Russian soldiers are murdered after surrender. The Christian Church is closed and persecuted. This all comes out in snippets in the Western Media and then hidden. The pattern was set in Maidan February 2014 when the Fascists DELIBERATELY shot their own. The weak position of Israel media on the activities of the Fascists in Ukraine (which is the whole government) obscures that the Fascists in Palestine can be employing the same tactic against say the shooting of the Christian Arab reporter (blame on Israel as the Ukrainian Fascists kill just like that to blame Russia)

  20. Likud, UTJ agree: No electricity generated on Shabbat

    Umm. Seriously?

  21. Sebastien the Jews of Kherson should be offering prayers in synagogue for a Russian victory every day. These Ukrainian Fascists will one way or another eliminate them. What a tragedy so many people don’t bother studying history.

  22. PELONI-

Yes true he was anti-Catholic; he was a great boyo that lad, you may recall he abducted two popes and that one died in France, and the other was held in captivity for years, somewhere in Italy, away from the Vatican, I just can’t recall where.

AND, oddly, ..his mother’s brother, Fesch, I think a step or half brother was a Church dignitary, later a Cardinal. Nap didn’t like him and they were not friends although Fesch had to represent The Emperor when asked.

Maybe a childhood event involving Fesch caused him to be anti-Datholic, although a person of his multiple talents and vast intelligence might naturally despise clergy of all denominations.

One of his sayings was “they invented religion so as to keep the poor in their place, for without it they’d tear the nobility asunder”.. Paraphrased slightly.

But somewhere, somehow, he seemed to have a slight affinity towards the Jews. I know it was said that he overestimated their wealth and influence,, but I don’t attribute this as a cause. I think there was more to it, although I don’t know what….!! Of course he was also a Muslim when it suited him in Egypt, but never was are pretended to be a Jew.

  23. @Edgar
You are quite correct, it is far more than a blog site. I am dumbfounded as to how long it must have taken him to write and detail all that I am reading, having only begun the first part. Your mention of Napoleon’s desire to ally with the Jews prior to his political rise is a very telling point to consider. Honestly I don’t think he ever came off the anti-catholic bent of his youth, but it became less useful to his goals.

  24. PELONI-

Yes, Hertz is eminently qualified, and as I said, it’s MUCH more than a “blog”.

As you get further into the essay, almost book length, the immensity of depth will astound you. How the documentation was uncovered must have been like an archaeological dig for the Tutankamen burial site. Or Schlweimann uncovering Ancient Troy..

I have never come across such fine detail in anything but the descriptions of some Medical experiments.

The discovery by Semmelweiss, great and wonderful that it was (the poor martyred guy) pales by comparison with the detail being revealed.

What I noted at the beginning was that Napoleon, still a recently promoted general, whilst still in France, perhaps even in the early Italian campaigns, was already thinking that he would restore the Jews to Palestine

So, for him, it could have had more than a political meaning only..
He was very anti- priest, even anti-religion, then,, and he was not alone. The whole country had anti-clerical fever, certainly about any above the humble country village cur-e. I think religion was outlawed.

  25. @Edgar
Actually, I am short bit thru the first part and it is a fascinating read. Thank you for sharing it.
Here is the link for the first part: Part 1
Here is the link for the second part: Part 2

A very interesting site beyond this two part article as well.

  26. I FOUND IT..

    I FOUND IT.

LOOK UP ” Audi Alteram Partem”…”Jews, Napoleon and the Ottoman Empire The 1797-99 Proclamations to the Jews ……… Be prepared for an education in early pragmatic Zionism. And a torrent of facts that you never knew.

It’s presumably by Allan Z. Hertz, who runs this “blog”, which is far, far more than a blog. He has top notch qualifications.

I hope you enjoy it ..all who can struggle through it as I did. It’ll take you a week, and well spent.

i’s appreciate your comments on it afterwards, when you’ve recovered.

  27. What gave any one the idea that I hated the British….. There is no one who could have cared less about hating anyone. And I certainly did not denigrate Napoleon for his efforts to restore the Jews to Palestine, political though they may have been.

I have read extensively all about his motives the Great Sanhedrin, it’s composition, his goals end decisions and the end results.

I have books on the subject. Just recently I sent a Massive half book length essay on the whole activities of Napoleon during his Egyptian and Jewish episode. The depth was enormous, every tiny detail mentioned. But it’s buried deep in my “sent” box and I wasted over a half hour before I gave up.

I may find it yet, and rub your nose in it.

  28. @Felix, Edgar I also used to hate the British, you know. When I was a little boy, sometime before I was 9, not sure when, one summer, I remembering arguing with an older gentile boy (goy boy :D) about who were the worst tyrants in history and he said it was the Germans but I, correctly, argued that it was the British because, well, I’d never heard of the Germans – I must have assumed lederhosen was a Hungarian device for torturing little boys in the summer – much less that they had murdered my grandparents and all my European relatives – and because I had just learned about the American Revolution and the Boston Tea Party, and do you know what those monsters, the British, did? They taxed tea!!!!!

    “Oh, the humanity!”

    dhttps://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/oh,_the_humanity

    😀

  29. @Edgar Oh, so now you credit Napoleon for his Zionism whereas you poo-pooed it before. 😀

Are we doomed to be like the two debating philosophy professors in the tuberculosis sanitorium on the eve of WWI who keep exchanging positions? in Thomas Mann’s “The Magic Mountain?”

  30. “20 year before the rise of Zionism Eliot”….

But 75 years before this Napoleon said and worked to bring the same result about. And delved far deeper into it.

The US jet engine manufacturer will halt the manufacturing of jet turbine blades in Israel.
    https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-pratt-whitney-to-close-bti-nahariya-plant-900-layoffs-1001431651

Israel has to spend the US aid purchasing planes it could manufacture itself from American companies. Logically, this American-owned factory is probably located in Israel because it makes replacement parts for those planes and it would be more expensive to mail them from the US.

Jet turbine blades unprofitable? Really? Is that a product that ever goes out of style?

  33. Hi, Sebastien. You said,

@ Michael The strike is in response to the layoffs not its cause according to the article you posted.

That’s an odd-sounding labor dispute. Will a strike convince the company not to lay people off? Oh well, you asked, and I tried. I have no idea, why Pratt & Whitney is shutting down the factory. Obviously, they don’t think it’s a profitable operation.

  34. I knew that but those are very good sources. I’m aware also of Alan Johnson.

As Sherman says there are 2 narratives here. The narrative of lies and the narrative of historical truth

But also you can become overcome with data.

The task is to CHANGE THE WORLD not just describing it

  35. @Felix

British Christian Zionism (Part 1): George Eliot’s Daniel Deronda…The impact of George Eliot’s 1876 novel Daniel Deronda was central to the coalescence of the first Zionist movement, Hovevei Zion, in the early 1880s. Later, pioneer Zionist Nahum Sokolow wrote: ‘In the Valhalla of the Jewish people, among the tokens of homage offered by the genius of centuries, Daniel Deronda will take its place as the proudest testimony to the English recognition of the Zionist idea.’ In this essay, in honour of the 200th anniversary of Eliot’s birth, Philip Earl Steele examines the influence of the novel on the nascent Zionist movement and locates it within the wider movement of 19th century British Christian Zionism.

    INTRODUCTION

In the introduction to her recent lecture-series on Daniel Deronda by George Eliot, Harvard Professor of Yiddish and Comparative Literature Ruth R. Wisse stated: ‘Twenty years before the rise of Zionism, [Eliot] put forth the idea that Jews had to reclaim their national sovereignty in the Land of Israel’.

Theodor Herzl, however, speaking at the close of the First Zionist Congress held in Basel on 31 August 1897, even before he gratefully acknowledged the pioneering role of many Jewish Zionists, said: ‘We must, moreover, thank the Christian Zionists.’

Indeed, Zionism, understood as an idea coupled with effort on behalf of creating a Jewish state in Palestine, came into fruition in the early decades of the 19th century among British Evangelical Christians, as Israeli scholar Anita Shapira has stressed. Though among such Christians (and Jews) this aim was known as ‘Restorationism’, in keeping with Herzl’s own usage (and Max Nordau’s remark from 1905 – ‘Zionism is a new word for a very old thing’), I typically observe the longstanding practice of using the term ‘Zionism’ and its kindred forms in regard to the entire period preceding Herzl….

  36. That last comment I forgot to address it to Sebastien. To Sebastien if you look at a thread which is the term for a number of tweets strung together

You will see that it deals with a big issue, very big, on biodiversity, and a very big conference in Montreal.

(I am known in Twitter under my name all one word @FelixQuigley)

My points are unanswerable. They are pure logic.

They will be noticed and they make a bold statement.

Now for Israel…if they wish. I could refer them to the logic of Sherman today.
