It does. And, that is how it is functioning. The question of whether Chit-Chat, itself, should even be displayed that you are raising was not addressed by anyone other than you. I gather it’s too hard to skip over 4 lines to find a topic that interests you.

I wudden’ be surprise….An easy “out”.

My “edit” feature is O.K. It was when I sent in a great addition to my last post, but didn’t print it…. Maybe it has “Election Blues”..
Do you hear the rattling around, of a few loose nuts and bolts in a tin can, quite nearly…? No it’s NOT tinnitis, it’s factual…

When Jews who have been murdered accidentally wandering into Judenrain PA controlled areas of Yesha, do you suppose “Progressives” have justified those murders with the same sort of logic?

  4. From a website that popped up on my newsfeed from “American Buddhist Perspectives.” Pity that, like Reform Judaism, this branch of Buddhism can’t stay out of politics, worse the Left side. Anyway, it does seem to concede that Trump really won after saying Biden won, and is analyzing it from that perspective. Has some interesting insights that have also been mentioned in some conservative analyses, such as that of Victor Davis Hansen.
“The last poll I saw said that 90% of voting republicans voted for Trump in 2016, but 93% in 2020.”
“The big story I’ve been hearing all year and today is the Latino vote coming out strong for Trump. And black voters too.”
He starts out by talking about how he moved with his family including his cat to a new place where his wife got a job. I responded to the article in the comment section: “Big move. How old is your cat?”

  5. Does anyone hear an odd. .buzzing noise , around , somewhere. Methinks I hear Feste.. capering on the table, with his pointed hat, and jingles…
Doing what Fools usually do. Shakespeare would be proud.

  7. @ Edgar G.:
There was a recent news item about a Christian missionary who was murdered by some savages when he landed on their island. I recall liberals saying he deserved it. These are the same hypocrites who support open borders, and sanctuary cities otherwise.

  9. @ Sebastien Zorn:

Well, I’ll try to give you the gist of it, paraphrased of course…..

“I was in the Sandwich Islands and having a talk with a few cannibal chiefs, telling them of the benefits of Christianity and etc. They received the story of Cain and Abel avidly, with much abuse of Cain, which went on for a while. The I just casually mentioned that Cain came from the Sandwich Islands area………There was a very long, uncomfortable pause…

Then one o the chiefs said….”Well..whut did Abel want to come foolin’ ’round here fur…”
I still think it’s priceless, just as I do with his “Fenimore Cooper’s Literary Lapses”.. which I wish you’d read. I was impressed enough to type it out on an old typewriter, 9 pages, and still have it somewhere.

  10. @ Edgar G.:
Well, I have the complete Twain on Kindle, though never read all of it. This begins in chapter 62 of Innocents Abroad, I take it. I started reading but I didn’t see a discussion, exactly. To what do you refer and why?

  11. Catherine Engelbrecht: Many States Have Their Votes Counted in Spain

Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of True the Vote, noted that many states commissioned a foreign company based in Spain to provide various election services — including online voting — in the 2020 presidential election.

Engelrecht offered her remarks on Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

Scytel, a Spanish company headquartered in Barcelona offering a suite of election services, has been used by various states and cities in several ways since 2008.

Engelbrecht said, “There’s a tabulation company called Scytel that does have could-based servers in Barcelona, and yes, it’s true that the tabulation [of votes] occurs in that way in many states that use that system.”

    Forbes reported in 2017:

Founded in 2001 in Spain, Scytl organized 12 state-wide implementations, and its technologies were used in another 980 U.S. jurisdictions in 28 states, during the 2016 General Election. Specializing in online voting and elections solutions, the company’s products include online voter registration services, poll worker management, and electronic ballot delivery. Its online voting services employ end-to-end encryption, vote return cords, and a bulletin board audit service. Scytl’s customers include France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Green Party, the Parliament of the European Union and the Swiss Canton of Fribourg. In January 2012, the company bought SOE Software. Scytl also holds more than 40 patents and patent applications. In 2008, the company became the first online voting company to receive certification from the Florida Department of State.

Marlow replied, “Why don’t we have a country that’s capable of counting our own votes? Why do we need to outsource? That seems kind of pathetic.”

Frank Gaffney, executive chairman and founder of the Center for Security Policy, also highlighted American governmental contracting of election services from foreign firms in an earlier interview on Wednesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily.

Gaffney stated, “I am personally convinced that the amount of fraud is vastly greater than anything we’ve seen so far, because … we’ve seen signs of it in at least one county in Michigan, and that is the fact that we have 28 states — including 10 of the swing states — that have had their vote counts tabulated in Barcelona, Spain, on servers and computer systems.”

Scytl has successfully delivered election modernization projects in the US since 2008, and most recently for the 2018 Midterm Elections, when over 70M voters from more than 900 U.S. counties successfully leveraged Scytl’s technology. Also, during 2016 US Presidential Election Scytl’s technology provided over 53 million registered voters and thousands of election staff across 28 states the benefits of more efficient, scalable and accessible election processes, consolidating Scytl as the leading election modernization provider in the United States.

Politico reported in June that Scytl had filed for bankruptcy in May as part of a broader analysis of security vulnerabilities associated with digital voting.

Breitbart News Daily broadcasts live on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.

“The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.” – Mark Twain

    Sebastien…That’s more corny than mine……..isn’t it….???

By the way I have a very old edition of Mark Twain anecdotes, unfortunately without a cover or frontispiece, so I don’t know when it was published. I believe when he was still alive. And there is ONE anecdote in it, that I’ve NEVER seen anywhere else. I’ve searched every book and list of Twain anecdotes, sayings, short stories etc.

I come across the “Good Little Boy”, and the Bad Little Boy ” regularly, as well as “The Jumping Frog of….etc”.. They are in this small book. So it looks as if it’s a complete edition of all of Twain’s anecdotes, and etc.

My story is about Twain’s visit to The Sandwich Islands, and his discussion with the cannibals there. I put it on here a few years ago. Do you recall it, or have you ever read it elsewhere…?

  13. @ Sebastien Zorn:
The answer to this reminds me of an old joke..a very old joke.

“One fervent adherent was explaining communism to a prospective acolyte.

The simp asked …” do you mean if you had two farms , you’d give me one”? “Yes”.
    And if you had 2 motor cars you’d give me one”…? “Of course”, ,,,”and if you had 2 shirts, you’d give me one”…? “Absolu-…hey wait a minute…. I HAVE 2 shirts”… !!

  14. @ Edgar G.:
Thanks. Somebody just posted on Facebook:

Does this Unity thing still apply if the recount causes an upset. I ask this for a friend who still has plywood up.

  15. @ Sebastien Zorn:

This is hilarious.. you are a top gun. You should send it in to one of the top stand-up comics and get well paid for it..

.I can see that Biden is a huge dose of sour something, and deteriorating further every day. I wonder what medications they give him before they send him out. I suspect something like cocaine, I’ve read that addicts brighten up as soon as they take it. With him, it looks as if it wears off pretty quickly. Next time you see him talking watch the face of his wife standing beside him. She goes through agonies.

  16. @ Sebastien Zorn:
I would expect something like this from the Babylon Bee but I think it’s serious. This is the silliest commercial I think I have ever seen. I mean I’m a Trump supporter, but “c’mon, man!”

  17. @ Edgar G.:
Yes, that’s correct. It’s a kind of dumpling like a pierogi. It’s on the menu in every Ukrainian restaurant. I’ve had it many times. I’ll have the cheese criminal suspect, please, boiled with sauerkraut and with fried onions, please. It’s just a colloquial way of saying that they love you to death, you’re so cute, they could just devour you with sour cream. It’s nothing.

  18. Girlfriend Keeps Referring To Herself As ‘Wife-Elect’ Despite No Official Word From Boyfriend

DALLAS, TX—Sources close to Winston Davis say he is “totally screwed” as his girlfriend Wendy Fitzpatrick keeps referring to herself as “Wife-Elect” at any and every public gathering with close family and friends. This awkward situation is happening to Winston despite no clear moment in time in which it ever entered his mind that Wendy was “the one” or that he was even getting close to asking her the question to make such an interim title even remotely appropriate.

“Uh, honey—” Winston could be heard starting to interject before Wendy went ahead and dialed up local caterers and contractors to make arrangements for the wedding, which was surely going to unify their two families who haven’t always gotten along, and bring about a glorious time of family healing.

Wendy had even started delegating bridesmaids to begin getting fitted for dresses and unironically telling members of her family that she was setting up an “Office of the Wife-Elect.”

“Yeah I feel bad for the guy,” said Winston’s best friend, Paul. “It’s been an unhealthy codependent relationship from the beginning, but this recent turn of events is just pure cognitive dissonance.”

“I keep telling him he needs to tell her straight up that an ‘Office of Wife-Elect’ isn’t a real thing and that he never officially asked her to be his fiancé, but I think he is afraid that will just make her mad,” Paul continued. “Like, there isn’t even an engagement ring.”

At publishing time, Wendy had set January 20th as the perfect date for the two to unite into one in a wonderful winter wedding for W+W.

  19. @ Sebastien Zorn:
Of course right away there have been a dozen “machers” telling we credulous simpletons that being listed as a criminal suspect in Ukraine doesn’t mean that they in Ukraine think Biden is a criminal suspect….that it’s just a kind of term they use for everybody….including I suppose… Jaywalkers.

  20. @ Sebastien Zorn:
Did you anticipate that I might point out your error…:Far be it for me to do such a dastardly thing”.. He could “run for fun” , now that you mention it. Make running a happy occasion… ..

  21. Hopefully President Trump knows that the true path to his second term lies in Israel & a conversion to Judaism. The Jewish people will not neglect one of their own.

  22. Countries do not have friends. They have strategic alliances. These continue to exist until they are no longer beneficial to one of the countries.

  23. If Buller had been Modderate at the Modder River instead of chit chatting he wouldn’t have lost all those men.

Note; I know it wasn’t Buller but Methuen, but it seems to swing better with “.Buller”. Also Buller was stupid enough to throw away all those men in futile battle-so he deserves the recognition.

I suppose this will get the moderator out of his arm chair to do his moderating..

  24. For how long will the moderating be moderating…?? I hope he finishes his moderating before the recipient has gone to bed.

Ted..Have you put a “red flag” on my comments… I see no reason for moderating my comment. Perhaps “free speech” is no longer free speech.

  25. This is for you Sebastien, who seems the only one on site with what I consider a sense of humour.. After this hefty encomium, don’t tell me if I’m wrong.

I’m just reading a newly discovered set of stories that Wallace did for the Glasgow Herald during WW1. In many of his books he shows a considerable streak of humour, and this one struck me. A simple few lines only.

    The scene… a very elusive and clever British spy has been trapped by his bete noir, a beautiful counter-agent, who set a trap in a German house that brought him from England to look for “secret papers” . They are conversing…as follows;

She; “You are all alike you English, Scottish and Welsh..too thick-headed, too barbarian to understand our Kultur, you dare call us Huns…we, who have given the world the greatest wonders of science”…

He; “like the steam engine,…. that Von Stephenson invented,…. or wireless telegraphy that Von Marconi put over…., or any of the dinky little things that Von Edison patented.”..

Simple-as I said.. The guy trapped with police surrounding the house. The story is called “The Secret Service Submarine”…

I wonder what old Zech would have thought of it? Guaranteed to make his bony pals do a tap dance in that valley. Or do I have the wrong guy. I think it was ‘Zeke. No matter..

  26. Ted Belman: To have only commented on the influence of Jared Kushner over President Trump is to have done this outstanding commentary of Tucker Carlson an injustice. Carlson is furious at the lack of leadership – the cowardliness, the lack of effectiveness, the psycho/political abetting of the rioters, the tremendous lack of vision and action, etc. To miss Carlson’s message is to miss understanding the attack on America. This is Tucker Carlson at his best, and this video should be sent out broadly.

  28. Before the subject of China again becomes completely passe on Israpundit, here is an interesting arcticle on the CCP’s new crackdown on LEGAL Christian churchs there:

    “<Frances Martel24 Apr 2020186 4:59

"The human rights website Bitter Winter highlighted on Thursday the growing trend of Chinese Communist persecution against members of the Three-Self Patriotic Church, the legal Protestant church in China. Officials reportedly demolished one of these churches on Easter.

"China bans all religions except for five: Taoism, Buddhism, Catholicism, “Christianity” (the Three-Self Church), and Islam. The Communist Party heavily regulates the operations of all five religions, and imprisons, tortures, and disappears members who defy orders such as the indoctrination of believers into worshipping the Party. Beijing also persecutes those who choose to practice their faith outside of the five official religions, such as “house Christians” (those who pray at home), Tibetan Buddhists, and Uyghur Muslims who do not go to state-sanctioned mosques.

"The heightened attacks on Three-Self churches suggest that Beijing is growing increasingly concerned not just with Christians practicing “illicitly” – outside of the confines of the Party – but those obeying Beijing by attending legal services.

"The demolitions and other violations of the rights of believers are occurring as China faces a nationwide epidemic that has since become a pandemic, threatening nearly every nation, of the newly discovered Chinese coronavirus. While the Communist Party insisted that the outbreak – particularly in Wuhan, where it originated, is over – lockdowns in cities like northern Harbin indicate that the Party has failed to contain the threat…"
