It appears that your program does not like my saying bad things about s o c i a l i s m,
Rejected again. Here it is, in double-space:
S o c i a l i s m i s a t t a c k i n g f r e e e n t e r p r i s e,
Now, the first clause of the offending sentence:
Atheism is attacking the religious values of Christianity and Judaism,
First half of last paragraph was rejected. Let’s try the last half:
Islamic Jihadism is only effective against us, in that the above forces have left us weak and defenseless against them.
..and the first half of the rest,
The collapse of Western Civilization is not happening, as I have said, because of attack from the outside. It is being undermined from within — from forces unleashed by the very freedom from dogma and imperial repression that formed it.
The final portion didn’t make it. Let me split it, yet again:
The third major element of Western Civilization, namely, the nation state, has its roots in the Westphalian treaties that ended the Thirty Years’ War — a war which concluded with the failure of the Holy Roman Emperor to exercise control over the budding nation-states of northern Europe.
and now the final portion:
The third major element of Western Civilization, namely, the nation state, has its roots in the Westphalian treaties that ended the Thirty Years’ War — a war which concluded with the failure of the Holy Roman Emperor to exercise control over the budding nation-states of northern Europe.
The collapse of Western Civilization is not happening, as I have said, because of attack from the outside. Atheism is attacking the religious values of Christianity and Judaism, Socialism is attacking free enterprise, and Globalist Capitalism is attacking the nation state. Islamic Jihadism is only effective against us, in that the above forces have left us weak and defenseless against them.
That was my third send in six minutes, all with captchas checked; and this is the only one that got through. Now I’ll try the middle portion:
Back in Europe, parallel events were leading to the intellectual freedom that was the key to so much scientific progress in the West. Galileo Galilei, who had championed Nikolay Kopernick’s theories of a solocentric universe, went to his grave in 1642 having been silenced by the dogma of the Catholic authorities. Sir Isaac Newton, born within the year Galileo died, published his Principia in 1687, which led to the treatment of science as being governed by immutable rules. That publication, which opened the floodgates to every sort of scientific discovery, a major characteristic of Western civilization, was due to the weakening of the force of Catholic dogma in England due to the separation of the English church from Rome.
…and here’s the first:
I don’t believe Western Civilization is under attack primarily by outside forces.
Islamism is certainly a “non-Westeren” ideology; but without being fueled by Western actors such as Soros and the UN, it would wither and die.
Western society has its roots in a marriage between the various Christian Churches and successors of the Roman Empire. This church-state linkage did not seriously begin to be rolled back until the Separatist settlement in Plymouth, MA in 1620. The Plymouth settlers were joined within a few years, by non-separatist dissenters in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut — who, despite being doctrinally linked to the Church of England, had become, due to their physical isolation, as separated as the Pilgrims of Plymouth. Finally, in 1636, Roger Williams and his associates founded Rhode Island, the first state in the world with true religious freedom.
@ Ted Belman:
Yes, Ted, I did fill out the captcha, every time. I even resent the comment HERE, just a minute ago, and it disappeared. I’ll break it in two, in case it was too long. Here’s the second half:

Ted,
I sent a comment to ” In Defense of Western Civilization By Jeff Lukens, AMERICAN THINKER” three times (altering it each time, so it wouldn’t be seen as a duplicate), and it didn’t post.
What’s wrong?
@ Edgar G.: Yes, we will have to wait and see, Edgar. I hope you are right. However, even if Bibi’s fear of sanctions if Israel acts to uproot the Arab squatters and ban the European diplomatic staff from Judea-Samaria are overly pessimistic, the fact remain that he is genuinely afraid of this possibility. He also wants to avoid provoking even more attacks on Israel in the foreign press and further damage to Israel’s image. Protecting Israeli trade is for him more important than control over Judea-Samaria. He also worries that even enforcing the laws against illegal Arab settlement inJudea-Samaria would stir up another intifada. Maybe even an infifada by Israeli Arabs. His actions strongly support this view of his priorities.
It is also possible that he is still hoping against hope to avoid indictment, and fears that if he gets tough with the Arabs, the leftist, pro-Arab attorney general and the lawyers clique of “retired” judges and prosecutors that stand behind him are sure to indict him, while they might just spare him if he appeases the Arabs.
While he showed himself to be physically courageous duing his military service, exposing himself to enemy fire on several occasions, politically he is a very timid man.
@ adamdalgliesh:
What about the stories of all the EU companies after the first flush of refusing to accept the sanctions as hindering…then rushing to cancel their dealings with Iran for fear of sanctions. This hasn’t even begun to be played out yet. Germany has deep-seated consciousness of the Holocaust, regardless of what you say. They have proved ths time after time. Your fear of EU sanctions is just speculating on a conjecture, which hasn’t even begun to be thought of by the EU. Haven’t you seen how they back off when Israel objects to them labeling YESHA products. Just LABELLING them -not banning them….
Ireland…..a pipsqueak which had it’s brief day of glory during the big European economc boom ..”The Celtic Tiger” turned out to be a paper tiger after all. They are the flea on the tail of the EU.
I suppose you didn’t see, read or hear that regardless of the Senate and Dail bill passing, The government has decided not take any actkon on this matter against Israel. This had been openly reported from Dublin several times,.and as recently as the other day.
We just have to wait…and see.
“Barely conceivable?” Ireland is about to do it. Israel trade is a drop in the bucket for most of the EU countries when compared to their Iran and Gulf trade Fear of American retaliation? The Europeans are brazenly defying the Trump administration concerning the Iran sanctions, an issue dear to President Trump, with no meaningful retaliation by the Trump administration–although the US certainly could retaliate against Europe for their massive trade with Iran. In any case, we may see the return of an Obama-type administration in the U.S., which would actually welcome sanctions against Israel.
And I think you overestimate the German guilt about the Holocaust. Many Germans resent the reparations they have paid to the Jews, feel that Germany was victimized after World War II by the allies (true, to a considerable extent), that Germans were victimized in the postwar years in part because of all the negative publicity that American Jews generated about the Holocaust, and that all this means that they are now “even” with the Jews. Also, many Germans buy into the claim that Israel is like the Nazis- which provides a convenient rationale for harsh sanctions against Israel, while allowing Germans to tell themselves that they are virtuous while whaling on Israel.
@ adamdalgliesh:
Adam, your whole post rests or falls with the premise that the EU could install sanctions on Israel, and “devastate” the economy. I don’t believe that that could ever happen. It would be to the great disadvantage of many EU countries, and maybe you’ve forgotten, but Israel has been widening it’s trading range greatly. In the event of anything like that -which is barely conceivable anyway- would happen. the economy would just need more of a re-arrangement, than a total collapse. If Israel ordered another 2-3-4 submarines…. you bet they’d get them…
If the US put “special” sanctions on Germany if they refused the subs, you’d see them scrambling …….If tiny Israel boycotted German products -not EU products mind, just German-that would be a soul-wrenching reminder to them, that they committed the most horrible acts in historical times since Christianity began to be cobbled together 2000 years ago; for which they are still repenting ( I hope)…
@ Edgar G.: Edgar, of course the Israeli government should implement these measures. The problem is that Israel is afraid the EU countries, which are now more intensely committed to the Palestinian cause than the Arabs themselves, would retaliate by imposing BDS measures on their own business’s dealings with Israel. Israel’s government is worried that these sanctions could devastate the Israeli economy. Israel also imports more arms from Europe than is commonly realized, because as Caroline Glick points out, amany of the componants of the planes and other weapons the United States provides to Israel are actually manufacured in England. Israel’s submarines are manufactured by German companies. Thus EU sanctions could limit Israel’s arms supplies as well as damaging its foreign trade.
I don’t have a simple solution to these problems. A decent international public relations department, well financed and intelligently run by people who were both dedicated Israeli patriots and savvy public relations people, and focused on European opinion, would go some way. But the Israeli government seems unable to grasp the need for such a program, and its officials lack the unqualified patriotism and lack of guilt feelings towards the Arabs to run such a program competently, even if money was provided. Under the present government and /or if Israeli scholars and journalists ran it, such a department would turn out to be still another propaganda outlet for the PLO and Hamas.
@ adamdalgliesh:
This is a response to something wrote a long time ago and not for the first time. You are the first to notice it. I doubt if I could scrape out the details you suggest, but every word I posted is fact. I can’t even remember his name. His little vale was 5 miles from Karmlel, just off the left hand side of the main road (that is..due east) making it 5 miles further from the coast.. This was sometime around about 1982-3. So they had come to Israel only 5 years before that. His father led the way having been in Israel before-presumably as a wandering shepherd or goatherd, and knew of the little valley where they ended up. It taught me a lesson …never to ever believe anything an Arab -no matter how plausible, and this guy was very- told me.
@ Edgar G.: This is fascinating, Edgar. You should write this up in more deatail and submit it to Ted for publication, because it is an important source of historical evidence for what many Israelis have been claiming for decades, but without much in the way of documentaary evidence to support it.
Precisely when, had the Arab and/or his parents or grandparents been in the Land “for only five years?” Five years before 1948? Or five years before 1967? Or five years before 1993? Precise dating and details about how long his family had lived in Eretz Israel is important and highly relevant historical information. Was he the first in his family to live in Eretz? Or was it his father that led his family to the “Promised Land?” (promised of course to us, not his family). Or his grandfather? Dates and all other details are vital here as hisotorical evidence.
Please try to remember everything you can about your conversations with this man, including precisely when and where they took place. If you feel that you can do so without too much danger to yourself, name him and provide the names of his relatives that he mentioned, their family and clan name, etc. Then, please write it all up and ask Ted to publish it as an orignal article. This could be an important contribution to disproving the Arab “time immortal” narrative. Thanks, Adam.

@ Bear Klein:
That’s a wonderful record, and makes very prideful listening for me.. BY coincidence, My dear late father was the captain of the first Jewish team of any kind to win an official national competition. At the end of the first decade of the 20th cent. his team won the All Ireland Under 18 soccer championship. I believe that there were over 50 teams competing.
All I have of that is a picture of the winning team, which, incidentally, had two later Irish internationals on it. One became very famous as a professional in Ireland, then England for many years, and later again Ireland. He was also a cricket international. MY dear father was already in business, and could not do the same.
I’m sorry you are not a Clein Family member as I am on my dear mother’s side. They have re-unions, which bring over 3000 members, from around the world. All descended from ONE couple from Akmene in Lithuania……..One of our members, whom I knew, could trace his descent, through the distaff side, to a time past Rambam……… Recently I unearthed a family tree I’d had for 15 years, but forgotten about, which went back to the late 1600s, with more to come. Until then all I knew was…. the names of 2 of my paternal great-grandparents.
I was never much into family descent, because of my lack of knowledge and that I never knew even my grand-parents, 3 of whom who passed before I was born and when I was about a year old, except for my father’s mother -my Bubba who spoke only Yiddish-but made wonderful medd (mead) at Pesach…
But in Dublin, a painter, whose paintings, piled up in his attic studio, unsold and unsaleable, but very valuable after his death, used to have a large, long wooden sign planted in his front garden, enscribed “A descendant of the Abrabanels”…His name was Harry Kernoff. whom I knew. I even bought a few things from him as a kid, for mere pennies…..gave them to my sister….that was “then”. wouldn’t do it “now”…
@ Edgar G.:
My families roots are Austrian (and that part of the world). My mother was a Borgenicht (famous in Austrian Hungarian Empire).
My grandfather on my father’s side was a player and co-owner of a famous Jewish Austrian Soccer Team. This team competed against some of the worlds big teams on a successful basis. There are a few articles about them. One link is https://physicalculturestudy.com/2014/11/20/hakoah-wien-and-muscular-judaism/
@ Edgar G.:
No not at all.
BEAR KLEIN– Do you happen to be a member of the famous Clein/Klein Family originally from AKMENE in Lithuania, of whom many are living in Atlanta, Georgia…
@ Ted Belman:
Well…I’m one of the guys so here is what I think….. If that is his reason I believe he’s dead wrong. States have don’t have “permanent allies” they have “interests” above all else……and when those interests change, then their alliances change. The logical facts are, that the EU had deliberately invaded the Israeli territory of Area C. and has supplied and encouraged Israel’s most bitter enemies to infiltrate…. and actively helped them to further their invasion. This is deliberate war in their sneaking Jew-Hating way…a covert effort to shrink and eventually destroy, the Jewish State.
Israel should immediately use the bulldozers to flatten the prefab structures, and tin shacks, arrest charge and imprison the inhabitants,…… and send the debris back to the EU…… COLLECT. I wrote about this a few times over the past 2-3 years already. As soon as I noticed that in succeeding reports, the Arab numbers were growing by comparatively large amounts, when it was first mentioned -by Bennett- as just a few thousand infiltrators.
The EU trades with Israel, largely, because Israel had what it wants and needs. If they could find alternate and similar items at the same price, they’d trade there instead. Besides, the EU has it’s own problems, and does not trade as a bloc. And this trend is increasng not diminishing.
Besides The International Community -particularly the USA-could not help but acknowledge that Israel had the perfect right to act, and that the EU was an invader of territory over which it has no rights, and was interfering with, and subverting strictly internal Israeli matters.
Support for these conclusions from a recent article in Arutz Sheva:
@ Ted Belman: Absolutely on Target, Ted. Bibi has always emphasized diplomacy and trade as his fortes. He has shown no committment to the settlement enterprise, and has been very reluctant to permit large-scale operations by the IDF. He doesn’t want to upset Israel’s trade and economic applicants, whatever the cost of maintaining them. The JP and Arutz Sheva reported this week that the increase in the “settler” population in Judea-Smaria has slowed to a crawl, only about 2 per cent last year, and has been declining throughout Bibi’s last nine years as prime minister. The reason, the reports say, is the almost total freeze on new housing over the past nine years imposed by the Israeli government. The Western Press and the Peace Now crowd claim the opposite; but they are lying.
@ adamdalgliesh:
I know Bibi denies this but they are playing the court case out in the media before it happens because it is looking likely he will get charged on something. So he is mounting an affirmative defense before hearings or trial.
@ Ted Belman:
I actual believe Trump influenced Bibi because he wanted him to wait for his plan. So there is construction but not enough.
@ Buzz of the Orient: I think this answers your question, Buzz. An op-ed by a former national security advisor to the Prime Minister from the Jerusalem Post.
.
I asked a knowledgeable guy today why Bibi won’t allow Jewish construction in Area C but doesn’t challenge the EU interference and construction there.
He said Bibi is too afraid of alienating the EU because they are our biggest trading partner.
What do you guys think?
@ Bear Klein: Bibi denies this.
@ Edgar G.: Edgar, Bibi has been criticized for claiming that he was making an “important” announcement revealing “previously undisclosed” facts. The press, like you, didn’t think Bibi’s announcement was momentous. It laid an egg.
@ adamdalgliesh:
I have also read that the police offered him this previously and he said he would talk to his lawyers. I read no one got back to the police.
@ adamdalgliesh:
Thanks Adam…if that’s IT…I don’t see anything momentous in that. That’s just a piece of normal everyday news and not even of any public interest. I thought maybe he was going to announce resignation… or that a Saudi Embassy was opening in Jerusalem..that sort of momentous… which was the kind of thing the announcement seemed to imply.
@ Edgar G.: Edgar, the dramatic announcement was that Netanyahu says he has twice been denied the right to confront and cross-examine the witnessess against him. He claims that this is a violation of his rights to a fair trial. Legal experts gave conflicting opinions as to whether he has a right to cross-examine the witnesses against him before he is indicted and then tried.
HEY FOLKS///Pay some attention to this…. please…. In yesterday’s Arutz Sheva there was a headline that Netanyahu was to make a tremendous announcement today…But in today’s A7 I have not been able to find it
Considering the time difference it is now 2 days ago…
DOES SOMEBODY OUT THERE .know anything about this….???
@ Buzz of the Orient: In Israel, decisions are often made not on the highest political authorities, but by low-level or middle-level bureaucrats who are narrowly focused on their own specialized area. The Israeli civil service system gives these bureaucrats complete job security–they cannot be fired by cabinet ministers or political appointees- The “political echelon” sometimes aren’t even aware of these decisions. Or they rubber-stamp them automatically after only a very brief review, without considerating their ramifications.
Often Israeli government decisions that foreigners think have sinister motivations are actually the result of thoughlessness and insensitivity. The myth that Jews are highly intelligent (not at all true of most Jews) means that whenever a Jew makes a decision that other people dislike and consider a threat to their interests, they a assume a hostile or malign motive on the part of the Jew. More often, the Jewish “culprit” never even realized that his action might upset and harm the interests other people.
@ Buzz of the Orient:
Israel needs to enlarge port. Chinese company is the only one that bid on it. They are the major port builder manager all over the world now.
Can you finance, build and manage port? If not please name alternative company. Same problem happen to US ports.
What could possibly have been in Israel’s mind to sign an agreement for China to take over management of the Haifa Port? Were they so naive as to not realize what the repercussions for putting a major security interest in the hands of a foreign power would be? Did they not realize what America’s reaction to it would be? Is China actually going to cast its votes at the UN in favour of Israel instead of the
Arab bloc now? I doubt it.
Hello the site…Does any know what the Hebrew words “Seder Venikon “… means…?
spelled Samech (w/tsere) dalet (w/segol) resh.. then … vav (w/sheva) nun (w/chireq) kuf.(w/kametz) yod vav (cholem Vav) final nun… It’s a puzzle to me…..
Seder” seems obvious but the other… My grand daughter came home from the Chabad school with it. It also has a sketch of a floor brush at the side. the kind with the head at right angles at the bottom of a long handle coming from the middle. Not the “cornhusk broom”..
Thanks.

@ Ted Belman:
yur right borders cannot be moved, boundaries as between ISRAEL and Jordan can be moved.
Indiana jones should be called on to find non existent border.
I repeat, the border between Israerl and Jordan and Isdrael will not be moved.
With all the talk about Jordan getting a large part of YESHA t feel that the situation would be far more dangerous than it is now. With the infusion of 2 million barbaric blood-lusting YESHA squatters, and being that the Jordanians hate us already like poison, the perpetual ferment would soon boil over. They’d be sending murder squads across the River all the time. The IDF wouldn’t have enough capacity to guard every yard of the River line, without calling up reserves and sustaining economic damage.
In normal times, the Jordan River is only 10 ft to 2 ft. deep with several fords. With the present prolonged dry drought if must be even lower. Last year I posted an account of an Arab I knew who had to go to the Akko Land Registry. On the way there he regaled me with stories about his family which had been in the Land since before the Crusades…etc. Very believable.
At the Registry, his Title Deed were shown up as a forgery… . On the way home he confessed that his family had only been in Israel for 5 years having come from Syria, walked across the Jordan with a few goats and etc. They’d found the beautiful little deserted valley complete with tiny stream and a large old 3 roomed Turkish house. The way the valley was cultivated with the stream flowing along rows of crops , with tiny earth dams to allow or stop the flow made it appear to have been settled for ages.
I suppose a Jew couldn’t use it because he wouldn’t get a permit, nor electricity and sewage to the house, which itself would not be good enough for them.
@ Edgar G.:
And I meant “confident” not confidential. The report was very up-beat, as if it were all really “behind the scenes” (the term he used) signed and sealed, and ready to be implemented any time. That they were being generous in saying that after the US Mid Term and Israel elections it was more or less all settled. That was the tone which caused me to write “confident”. .
I was completely shocked at what I just saw in Arutz 7. A confident report, that a Plan initiated by the Institute for National Security Studies worked on for 2 years, and decided -or presented to-in co-operation with Gantz, Ashkenazi, Netanyahu and other lefty IDF machers, discussed with Arab leaders and the White House, will be presented and passed next year which will give the Arab mamzerim 65% of YESHA, and with encouragement to the International Goyim to help make the “palestinian” state” economically viable.
Jerusalem and Gaza will not be discussed “at this time” ….which means they are leaving it “OPEN” for discussion, also there will be a building freeze in the more outlyng settlements……….
Amos Yadlin announced it and is “willing to take a chance” that it will almost certainly be adopted AFTER the 1919 elections.
I think that we’d better ” get cracking” and put them back into their rabbit hutches. The readers’ comments are blistering and are accusing the perpetrators, including Gantz and Ashekenazi of treason……at a minimum.
Somebody posted, on Facebook, that nobody in the West even knows who the Nazis were. And this is how i responded [FB wisely added an edit feature so I will add paragraphs knowing there is a separate “Post” button. They should really do that for regular responses, as well.]
I made a joke out of a true story about that some years ago. Nobody was talking about the Shoah in the late 60s when I was in elementary school but politics was in the very air we breathed, and even us kids could get passionate about it even though our bedtimes were before the news and the adults didn’t discuss such things around us, if possible.
I remember having an argument with a slightly older friend who was not Jewish about who the worst tyrants in history were and he said, “the Germans.”But, I knew that wasn’t true.It couldn’t be. It was the British.
See, I had never heard of the Germans — or how they murdered 19 members of my father’s family including both sets of grand and great-grand parents 15 years before I was born, 8 years before my sister was.
So, it definitely wasn’t the Germans. Whoever they were. It was the British. The British committed the worst atrocity in history. I can barely get it out without crying. They TAXED TEA! “Oh, the Humanity.”
How can a God fearing, freedom loving Englishman like myself (spoken in a Jackie Mason accent) go on, knowing that?
Still, my father being Hungarian, even if, at the tender age of somewhere between 6 and 9, I had known where lederhosen came from, that would have been more than reason enough to hate the bastards. No wonder they started so many wars!
