Even without taking voter fraud into account. They only scratched the tip of that iceberg and every time there was a recount, Trump gained votes. Recall, that in 2008, as well, Clinton whined about the unfairness of Obama winning the primary even though she won more votes in the states that had primaries because he focused on the caucus states where activists tended to be further to the left. But, she doesn’t seem to be able to understand rules very well, in general, does she. Is it a learning disability, do you suppose? How on earth did she pass the bar exam? I don’t think you can just marry your way in. Last I checked.
Bennett at Western Wall: It’s time for sovereignty
Education Minister visits Western Wall, says UN resolution presents both danger and opportunity.

Responding to the UN Security Council’s Resolution 2334, Education Minister Naftali Bennett visited the Western Wall on Sunday morning.
“We’re standing here, in the city of Jerusalem, our eternal capital for 3,00 years,” Bennett said. “Two days ago the UNSC passed a bad decision, to consider this land, our capital, conquered territory.
“But no resolution can change the fact that this land, Jerusalem, is our capital. And no people can be a conqueror in their own land. That’s why this resolution, like many of the earlier resolutions, will be thrown into the dustbin of history.”
Noting the recent increase in terror attacks around the world, Bennett said, “Thousands of terrorists in the world, from Berlin through Paris and New York take a lot of opportunity and happiness in this resolution, of their friends from the Palestinian Authority. The same friends that conduct terror attacks in Berlin, that run over people, that use knives and bombs; that gave out candy when the Twin Towers are destroyed.”
“This is a historic day, which contains both danger and opportunity. I choose to see the opportunity,” Bennett continued. “It’s time for Israel to reevaluate its approach during the past 25 years. The approach where we adopted the Oslo accords, the approach were we gave up territory in Gaza, the approach where we declared the need for a Palestinian state. We thought this approach would gain us sympathy from the world, but instead we got tens of thousands of missiles from Gaza, thousands of Israelis murdered on the streets and one condemnation after another.
“It’s time to decide between two alternatives: surrendering our land, or sovereignty. We’ve tried surrendering our land, it didn’t work; it is time for sovereignty.
“In the near future we will take steps to apply Israeli law to Ma’ale Adumim and the rest of Judea and Samaria. It’s time for Israel to decide,” Bennett concluded.

Barnes and Noble used have book cases full of Turtledoves alternate histories. I read quote a few. I think my favorite is the Colonization series, in which the Holocaust is stopped midway because at the height of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, Earth is invaded by an ancient super race of intelligent lizards who wish to colonize, settle earth and incorporate it into their inter-galactic empire. Later on in the series, they are themselves corrupted by the trade in dangerous, mind and mood altering, addictive drugs which for them takes the form of ginger snaps.
In the context of Obama’s intention to abstain in the Security Council vote outlawing Jewish settlement, I mentioned that the
Korean War became a UN war instead of a unilateral one like Vietnam because for reasons unknown, the Soviet Ambassador was missing. I am reminded of an alternate science fiction classic I mentioned briefly in a recent post, “How Few Remain” by Harry Turtledove. It’s about the Second War between the States. The short prologue is about how the North lost the first one.
The North (Union) kept losing until the battle of Antietam in 1862. Lincoln was waiting for a victory before issuing the Emancipation Proclamation so it wouldn’t seem like an empty gesture, which he did in January 1863. This made it a war of principle and kept France and England which were major trading partners of the South (Confederacy) and had embedded military observers on the ground, from coming in on the side of the Confederacy. He explains that despite McClellan’s incompetence (I wonder if it wasn’t treason, he was a Democrat) the North won because a Southern courier dropped the battle plans for his side which were wrapped around some cigars which showed how spread out the South’s forces were and it was picked up by a Northern soldier. However, in this alternative history, when he dropped the cigars, somebody from his own side said, “Oh, look. You dropped something.” So the North lost at Antietam, Lincoln never issued the Emancipation Proclamation, England and France, allied with the Cherokee Confederacy and the Mexican forces of Emperor Maximilian, himself installed by the French and fighting Lincoln’s Mexican counterpart, Benito Juarez, came in on the side of the South and the rest became history. Ha Ha. Brilliant. You know, Turtledove (nee Turtletaub) has a PhD in Byzantine history. Not for nothing.
Great bio pic about Juarez starring the awesome Paul Muni called, “Juarez.”

I and others here were saying months ago that Bibi and Trump (should there still be a possibility of him being elected) should quietly twist the arms of key people in the other voting nations in the event this would happen. In a reverse version of this, that’s how Saddam Hussein manipulated the Oil for Food scam. That’s what they did but not quietly and not individually. In the eleventh hour, Bibi took to Twitter and Trump announced through official channels their condemnation of this vote. Egypt needs Israeli and American assistance and cooperation on so many levels. Sisi wound up withdrawing his own proposal. I wonder if it was some kind of trial balloon. I wonder if Trump will get them to reverse their decision on the Kotel. It’s not just a Jewish issue. We’re the canaries in the coal mine. My reasoning was that he wanted to have his cake and eat it too. He could say he wasn’t altering long-standing U.S. policy or opposing the policy of the new President. He was just staying out of it. Ha Ha. The man clearly doesn’t have a legacy to stand on. I wonder if he was consciously thinking about the Korean War. You know, the only reason it was a U.N. war and not a uni-lateral action like Vietnam is that for reasons unknown, the Soviet ambassador was absent the day the Security Council voted.
Then again, maybe he got the idea from “I’m finally proud to be an American” Michelle. You know I read she worked in a cafeteria in college. Very suspicious.

If you google it, you will see that assuming nothing changes — and that’s ridiculous, it’s too far away — Israel’s Jewish population is projected to increase to 12 million and a half million, so nothing is changed. And that has no bearing on who rules in any case. Nobody anywhere really believes in unlimited democracy for everybody, least of all the left. Look at how routinely both civil and military deny the most basic civil liberties not only to adult members of the national camp but to minors, as well. If so-called “human-rights” organizations were for real they would make an issue of that but they don’t care what happens to Jews. So, why should we care what they or their Jewish shills think?

Some reasons why the article is stupid: Gaza isn’t part of Israel, currently. Poverty doesn’t lead to radicalization, Islam does. They couldn’t possibly be more radicalized. Why is their suffering our problem? The self-induced suffering of a population of anti-semitic homicidal maniacs who are the largest recipient of foreign aid in the world! Israel got nothing from anybody outside the Jewish community when she desperately needed it. Pity them? Screw them! I just read that Israel will be taking in Syrian wounded. Not a problem as
long as they send them back.

One of my favorites when I was a kid. “The Education of Hyman Kaplan” with stars in between every letter. One of his books got made into a movie with Gregory Peck about a wise Jewish Chaplain in WWII. A rare sort of movie. Comedy. As with Ephraim Kishon these liberal morons have declared his books politically incorrect because they contain ethnic humor. I just read that 2nd City, of all places, that produced Belushi, Akroyd, so many other irreverent greats, has been declared a “safe space.” Wrong thoughts will be censured. ugh. That’s part of what this election was about.
I see that the Hmong are of the Miao ethnicity. I have cats so I am quite familiar. You could call me Miao in action.
Not that it’s a humongous error or anything. I mean we’re all only humoun. Comoun, can you think of some? Maybe this is the comedic equivalent of the Freudian slip. Your unconscious is dying to make puns so you misspell every other word.

I said my uncle fought in over 50 battles. Actually, he referred to them as “engagements.” But that’s not even including the ones that led to marriage. Buh dum bum. ksssssh.
Divorced four times. Married Five. The very definition of an optimist. In marriage, as in war — or is that redundant — morale is the key to victory. That’s why they call it the “Greatest Generation.” We, on the other hand, can throw 50 billion dollars at our allies, win all the battles, and still manage to lose the wars. At least, if they take longer than a week. Grenada was a big victory.
You know, I’ve never been able to seriously contemplate having to deal with a room mate for more than a few months much less fighting for the covers with somebody for the rest of my life but there was a moment. I was driving in Inwood at the time. And I saw what seemed like a sign that now was the time to settle down and start thinking seriously about these things. The sign read: “Divorce. Only $399”
I said, “WOW, what a deal!”
@ Sebastien Zorn:
@mg3105
Bet 1941 and 1945 we gave $50 billion dollars to all of the other allies! How many trillions is that in today’s money?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lend-Lease
As far as losing before winning: So what? You said we played an insignificant role. That’s just ridiculous. Just my uncle fought in over 50 battles from 1941 to 1945. Including McCarthur’s return. And he was nobody special. Multiply that.
So what if we helped the Soviet Union later than the others. The Soviet Union didn’t win the war alone. And they had to fight for every inch long after Stalingrad. And feed, clothe and house their people in a nation torn apart by war and fairly primitive to begin with. American industry built up their industry between the wars. And they also lost for the first couple of years. Us at France and Italy and the Pacific Theater, The Brits at El Alamein, The Chinese in Manchuria, etc. And the Jewish Brigade of the British army (which ultimately became the IDF) won the war for them. Turned it around. The Brits were losing it. That’s where Moshe Dayan lost his eye. See “The Forgotten Ally” by Pierre Van Paasen.
That’s why EU is backwards. Should be UE for ungrateful Eurotrash.
You know. Forget the Muslims. Let’s just seal the damn borders. I can’t stand any of these damn foreigners.
@ Sebastien Zorn:
Perspective and context.
US LOST the Philippines in the first place despite knowing there was a threat since the 1920s, and its participation in the South East Asian theatre ultimatelly led to the Communist China, the implications of which are impacting rather heavily on the USA NOW.
And of course the USA got Ho Chi Mihn very wrong, which cost a veritable mountain of national debt and 58,220 U.S. military fatal casualties, never mind all the ruined lives.
The Lend Lease was a small part of the USSR war effort, less than 15% overall, but worse, it came mostly after 1943 when Germany was already broken on the Eastern Front. What Russians do not appreciate though is having to pay for all that while essentially paying for US tardiness with their war dead. You seek, guns don’t kill people, people kill people, and a lot of Russians got killed while Americans were ‘getting ready’.
Its the same with Israel btw. Whatever assistance America was providing to Israelis, it was the Israelis doing the fighting. When Americans eventually were forced into the fight in the Islamic world, they found it isn’t so easy. For all the technology, there is still a human cost, and Israel bears this under arms EVERY DAY.
