I am not for rubio because he is supported by open border advocates like Murdoch who is in agreement with the leftist soros whose NGO’s are accused of being responsible for the flooding of europe. Also, and the same for cruz, they support the current HB1 visascam which puts american middle class tech employees out of work and forces them to train lower paid foreigners to be imported to take their positions…. this to me is the same as treason
@ mar55:
I think, from memory, it was 15 mill rubio, 7 mill cruz and 4 mill trump
@ bernard ross:
Bernard, someone wrote in this blog Rubio had spent in Iowa’s campaign more than Trump and Cruz combined.
Do you or anyone else remembers what was the figure in $$$$$$$$ ?
@ bernard ross:
I will vote for Trump if he gets the nomination. Cruz, even
though he has helped Israel in the past and undoubtedly is a big supporter of Israel is too rigid with his evangelism.
I would not not vote for Rubio who is an opportunist. He reminds me of a Chihuahua with a big bark. He only wants to be President and is not consistent with his statements. A friend of mine whose kid was one of my children playmate went to Harvard with Cruz and they have been friends ever since. He said Cruz was always the smarter one in the class. She sent me this morning the link in case I wanted to donate to Cruz. I declined but put the information here in case that there is a supporter of Cruz in this blog.
Hopefully Trump will get the nomination.

I read both links and especially liked the analysis in the Virginia right article. I am sure that I probalby disagree with that writer on national health and on how to create JObs( I am not a trickle down subscriber, I am more of a believer that those who exported our economy cannot be trusted to rebuild it). Still, in many ways I felt the same as the writer. Also, your personal and family observations of Trumps character were enlightening and positive. Like the writer I have this feeling that Trump is the “accidental candidate” who did not expect such a huge reaction. Sometimes the times calls the person and changes the person… perhaps Trump has the character to act accordingly…. I am pretty sure that none of the others are both trustworthy and competent. So far, Trump has worn his weaknesses on his sleave and he may very well disappoint… but so has everyone else to date. A good article…. especially “fix my list”
@ bernard ross:
I remember being friends with some family members and, never had a clue as to whom they were. This is a bit more than forty years ago. Reading one of the financial magazines I read about this successful entrepreneur by the name of Trump. I turned around and asked the person who was with me at the time. Is this anyone from your family? I got an affirmative response. That is how I found out who Trump was.
He was becoming known at the time but was not so well known as he became later on. His brother was a delightful person. Quite down to earth people. He was a pilot and also drove an ambulance as a volunteer.
I have met a lot of what other people would consider important people in my life from early childhood it never occurred to me to treat anyone different of what I treat anyone else. Have never been impressed by titles or personalities.
I told a friend who was always impressed by who this person was or that person or anyone who she thought did shined. When you think any of these people are better than you or deserve your boot licking. Close your eyes and try to visualize that person in the toilet. It is a great equalizer. We all have the same physiological needs.

Some comments are also good. I hope to see the American Embassy in Jerusalem if he should be the next President of the US. I do not know him personally but in the past I had interactions with some members of his family. No business. All in friendship.
BTW, anyone who works for him is treated fairly whether black, white, purple or green. If the person knows how to do his or her job, it will be treated with respect. He does not take BS either.
One unusual thing about Trump is that although wealthy and a big businessman he does not appear to be in the pocket of the “corporations” and thinks independently…. seeing his interest is in line with the interest of most simple working americans. I think we will even see blacks supporting Trump
Gosh, I wonder to whom sessions could be referring?
could it be fiorina, or maybe carson, perhaps cruz or rubio…..
HMMMMMM I wonder who……?
Is this the beginning of the establishment biting the bullet?

I agree.. Trump will likely revise positions when he learns more but I thinnk it will be based on what he learns as opposed to just being a liar. I think that trump wears his defects on his sleeve. I just learned that he attended the wharton school of finance. Trump has one liners because like a businessman he does not waste time on how he arrived at his conclusions… he just gives the bottom line.
BTW I just noticed in a post I missed of yours that you gave me some very generous compliments… thank you very much… and thanks for your kind thoughts re the blizzard… I escaped it completely.
@ bernard ross:
Bernard, I had answered before to your comments and it did not go through.
Precisely, the people who hold the ideals and specific issues that you mention are called patriots. Gingrich, Palin and others like them often mention the same ideals.
On emigration I agree with Trump and about the health care I had Medicare and as a supplemental I have another private insurance. Since Obama Care, Medicare monthly payments has gone through the roof and the secondary payments are higher that what we use to pay when my husband was working. Most people will agree with you.
I would never vote for a communist and Sanders is one. Whether democrat or republican when you look closely establishment politicians all are the same. Most of the democrats are on the Saudi’s pocket. That is how the Clinton’s became millionaires. The Bushes are the same. I do not trust any of them. Israel is very important to me and to tell you the truth I mistrust all politicians and that include many of the Israelis in power right now. Reading the Israelis newspapers is very frustrating and upsetting.
Trump does not need the ME money. He is stubborn and that can be good but also bad. We need someone who will teach him the History of the Jews. The History of Israel.
The family are down to earth. They are not snobs although Donald likes to be extravagant in his expenditures and taste. His brother was not like that and neither is his sister who is a judge in NJ. At least that is how I remember it. All together is safer to elect Trump than any of the other candidates. Forget about Hillary. She should be in jail. I hope he puts the American Embassy in Jerusalem. That is if he does not change his mind once he is elected like Bush did.
You are not any different than those who many call patriots.
Another time I’ll respond about the progress being made n robotics.
mar55 Said:
in my case I want someone who will deal with specific issues of importance to me, some of which l lean right and others left. the immigration and trade issues are most important and trump is the only one left or right who is clearly verbally for what I want. Trump would be the least damaging of any conservative to my leftist desires in which case i am for national medical solution basically like sanders of a medicare system for all. As for Israel I have seen both sides full of BS and lies and I beleive that Trump will be as good if not better than anyone else for Israel. I dont beleive those gop strongly for israel can make it to office and I dont beleive that any establishement GOP will not be subject to saudi money. The dems are hopeless for Israel with Hillary being the worst of all. Bernie is one of those Jews who wants to be evenhanded which is not appropriate.
@ bernard ross:
The bottom line in this is: People do not want either a Conservative or a liberal. People are tired of all establishment people. They want a PATRIOT.
There is so much insecurity about the future in these times.
If Trump were to treat the Presidency the way he runs business he will likely to select people who are effective or proven to be good at what they do for different positions. Let’s hope so.
Now Bloomberg is saying he is going to run. I doubt it. He is just testing the waters to see if he has a chance. I do not think he can get elected. As mayor of NYC he tried to control even the size of the soda drinks at fast food places. Then he wanted to tax every car going into Manhattan. He is a real granny.
Nobody wants him anymore, He got to be mayor for three terms. There is enough incertitude without him adding to the fire.
@ mar55:
a very interesting analysis….. of course it means that if he wins we have no idea what we are getting….. but there is no one else any more who deals with any reality. We are in a society which is automating and therefore what happens when there are no jobs. Either we have to have a form of socialism or common ownership or totalitarianism where the elite owners of resources and robots use their robots to keep down and get rid of the no longer needed masses. With our system now totalitarianism is the likely path as we protect the “current owners” of the resources interests first. Perhaps there will be a hybrid of socialist totalitarianism… whereby poor nations are socialist and international corporations buy and sell them everything leaving a pittance behind…. that is what the TPP will ensure. the rich and their economic vehicles will be protected by the international(TPP) laws they are now enacting.

Trump is an anomaly. The more the liberal left tries to put him down thinking they can get rid of him, the more supports he gets. The establishment democrats as well as republicans have not learn yet that people are sick and tired of false platitudes and all the BS and lies they make as statements to promote themselves.
More and more people are supporting him.
Young people have a big problem. When they were recently interviewed with a few questions, They all though Judge Judy was a Supreme Court judge. Just by the contents of her trials it is obvious she is not. Why our young people have been indoctrinated in being dumb? They do not know how to argue or speak. Only platitudes. Not thinking.
It is frustrating when talking with them and instead of making a reasonable statement or even a sentence they say nothing followed by: “you know, you know, you know” ….
I asked one of them who kept repeating himself. NO, I do not know. Suppose you explain it to me. I ended up leaving.
Many university students,I think 25% did not know judge Judy was not a Supreme Court judge. It makes me sad and angry. This are the same people who dare to judge Israel.
Why are we paying so much in taxes when our schools cannot educate our children?
I do not know if where you live you got part of the blizzard. If so, keep warm and keep posting please. You are an excellent writer and a thinker as well. I enjoy your comments.

I’m OK but not so well. I had a big, big fall in August. Another one in December 28th coming back from visiting the little monkeys. My left hand is recuperating. It is not black anymore but still no strength in it. The tendons still sensitive.
There are lots of virus in the atmosphere lately. We need a new clean government. This government has been a curse for the country. Everything bad grows here including viruses.
I hate the meddling in Israel affairs. Israel needs a good PR campaign. The left only prints out what the Israelis do. Never the criminal behavior of their neighbors.
the PA does not want peace. If they had peace they would loose all the money sent by the EU and the US.
It is disgusting. As long as the EU and the US keeps sending money,
Abbas will continue getting rich and richer. No interest in peace. I would love to send him an exploding cigar or perhaps a exploding suppository.
We should let them all stay in their ghettos in Europe and then fumigate them the way people do with roaches and other vermin.
Commenting on the situation I was telling my husband it would be nice to get them all in planes and trow them down with parachutes. Parachutes? Oh no. Why do you want to do that? It is an unnecessary expense. Just trow them down in the middle of the desert.
They are spreading all over the world to conquer us with the big help from POTUS and all the radical left in the US.
It makes me really sick reading the Times of Israel and the JP.
How is your family?and the grand kids? Texas must be a nice place to raise children.

@ terjeber:
You don’t know me well enough to have this conversation. You also don’t understand the purpose behind us as role models.
I am the one who lives my life – not you! The sad reality is that there is no perfect situation for any woman. Until we raise the bar for man – which is way too low and lower the bar for women – which is way too high we will not have a proper balance.
I know where you are coming from. The few great women who I know that have accomplished positions such as rabbis did so at the expense of their personal lives. Is that fair? NO
A woman shouldn’t have to do it all to prove her point to you.
I certainly do take both Orthodox women and men to task – as I also did with Reform, Conservative and Igaltarian. Not going to bother with the ultra.
I don’t want to be the ‘same’ as man. I do not have penis envy. I laugh when the Orthodox men in their prayers thank G-d for not making them a woman. How bold and stupid is that? Instead they should be trying to make our lives better and let us be. One of these days Hashem is going to once again grab them by their knackers!!
I am fortunate that I do as I please. What I please is for the betterment of all!
By the way….what are you? Jew or Gentile??
Al Jazeera America to shut down in April
by Tom Kludt and Brian Stelter @CNNMoney January 13, 2016: 5:15 PM ET
CNNMoney | 2016-01-13 02:01:48
Al Jazeera America will shut down on April 30 after a little more than two years on the air.
The news was announced at a sudden staff-wide meeting on Wednesday afternoon. As many as 700 staff members could lose their jobs, according to sources at the company.
“There are executives here in tears,” said one senior staffer.
One of those executives was Kate O’Brian, Al Jazeera America’s president, who tearfully told the assembled staff about severance packages.
In a memo, Al Jazeera America CEO Al Anstey applauded the work done at the channel.
“I greatly respect the unrivaled commitment and excellent work of our team, which has created great journalism,” Anstey said in the memo. “We have increasingly set ourselves apart from all the rest, and the achievements of the past two-and-a-half years should be a source of immense pride for everyone.”
Al Jazeera said it would not give up on the American market entirely. The memo indicated that the company plans to “expand its existing international digital services” in the United States, with more details to be released in the coming months.
Al Jazeera America had invested in some in-depth reporting and commentary, but its ratings have remained anemic since launch. In prime time the channel only averages between 20,000 and 40,000 viewers on a typical day.
The channel’s end appears to have been prompted by the plunging price of oil, which dropped below $30 a barrel on Tuesday for the first time in 12 years. That’s significant because Al Jazeera America is owned by Al Jazeera Media Group, which in turn is owned by the government of Qatar.
A source at the company’s headquarters in Doha said that Al Jazeera was planning on making cuts all over — perhaps up to one thousand jobs — due to the falling oil prices.
“Al Jazeera Media Network had to cut, and instead of making it across the board or anywhere else, they decided to chop Al Jazeera America,” the source said.
Along with falling oil prices, another factor for Al Jazeera’s bosses was the channel’s status with cable distributors. Some of its carriage contracts are due to expire soon, and distributors are eager to stop carrying low-rated channels.
In an email to staff on Wednesday, Anstey said that the decision to pull the plug on Al Jazeera America was “driven by the fact that our business model is simply not sustainable in an increasingly digital world, and because of the current global financial challenges.”
Al Jazeera America launched in 2013 after its Doha-based parent company bought Current TV from Al Gore and others for $500 million. The channel was billed as a more sober alternative to the rancor and sensationalism that typifies other cable news outlets.
“Viewers will see a news channel unlike the others, as our programming proves Al Jazeera America will air fact-based, unbiased and in-depth news,” the channel’s former CEO Ehab Al Shihabi said around the time of the launch.
The channel was simultaneously a beacon of hope and a subject of ridicule among members of the media. There was widespread surprise when the channel opted to keep its Arabic-sounding name. Rival executives had doubts that the channel’s staid brand of news would ever catch on.
Rank and file journalists, on the other hand, were pleased to see the new entrant into the crowded television news space.
But from the beginning, Al Jazeera America has been beset by lousy ratings and internal strife. Two former employees filed lawsuits last year against the company with charges of anti-Semitism and sexism in the newsroom.
Al Shihabi, who was named as a defendant in one of the lawsuits, was ousted in May and replaced by Anstey, who had previously served as managing director of Al Jazeera English.
Wednesday’s announcement comes just weeks after Al Jazeera America broadcast a provocative documentary about sports doping that linked Peyton Manning’s wife to shipments of human growth hormone. Manning denied some of the claims and two other athletes named in the documentary filed lawsuits against the channel. There was no immediate indication of any link between the controversy and the channel’s closure, however.

@ bernard ross:
Finally got this email two days after the fact.
Late on Saturday night, three Muslim men pulled up to a bar in Calgary. One of them just walked up to the front door, pointed a gun in and randomly shot — sending one man to hospital and barely missing others in the crowded bar.
Before he could shoot again, he was tackled by the bar’s bouncers.
The whole thing was caught on the bar’s security cameras, which you can see by clicking here, in my video report.
Yesterday, police held a press conference and revealed the names of two of the men: Mohamed Elmi and Mohamed Salad. At the press conference, a reporter asked police if it could be terrorism — and the officer said he wouldn’t rule it out. You can see that in my video report too.
But not a single media outlet today even breathed the possibility of terrorism. In fact, they did their best to hide the names of the attackers — Mohamed and Mohamed — burying them deep at the bottom of the stories.
Isn’t it the media’s job to report the news, not to bury it?
Watch my video here, and judge for yourself. Was it “just” a random shooting by a Muslim gang? Or was it an act of jihad?
If you relied on the mainstream media for your news, you wouldn’t even know police considered it a possibility.
