Yes it’s always right to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. All major leaders have done this throughout the ages.
But your pessimism is totally unfounded.
You “look” for problems where none exist, and then worry yourself about them.
Self deceiving.
Israel does have a sharp, cutting edge standing army of about 250,000 or more., I don’t see how you can say otherwise, and the bulk of the male population up to about age 40 as Miluim with regular training updates throughout the year.
If the situation worsened beyond this then every able bodied man-and many women- would rally to Israel’s defence.
NEVER AGAIN is a true slogan believe me.
Are we conquering the whole of S.Lebanon or not.
What’s the latest?
@Edgar G.
Maybe they rejected it because there was something about Israel’s sovereignty in it, and they want Israel completely wiped out “with no preconditions”.
They may accept a better offer or they hope to try and force Israel to accept the UN decision to create another Arab sovereign state in the same areas as The Deal of the Century, and then they will attack again, this time as an Arab sovereign state which cannot be wiped out or cancelled.
This is why they are waiting for Israel to be defeated (Israel accepting ceasefires, making painful concessions, its population leaving the country, getting divided and demoralized, its economy suffering because Israel lacks a standing army, all it has is a militia of less than half a million people, etc.)
And, I hate to say this, Israel’s so-called best friends have the same goal, i.e., to defeat Israel and to kill Jews.
And, I hate to say this, Jews, as a people, don’t have the goal to save their state and their lives and to defeat their enemies once and for all in order to prevent the next Holocaust.
Jews prefer (in the majority) to stick their heads in the sand up to their butts and to practice DENIAL.
About my “pessimism” – I think it is prudent to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

That old chestnut surely is not still hanging around. iSRAEL’S attitude has hardened beyond titanium since then, and even then it was only delaying action talk. Talking is one thing…doing is another. The PM has sworn that there will never be a “palestinian” state.
And the pople would never assent to being cut in half, either above or below ground.
Why are you so often needlessly pessimistic..All of Israel’s spare energy is geared to Arab emigration as you WELL know. You’ll worry yourself into depression if you don’t stop.
Trump and Israelis KNEW there was no danger with the ‘Deal of the Century”. The machers knew that the mamzerim would not look at it ans as you know well, they rejected it before, and during the “offer”.And after 4 years, Israel took de jure possession of YESHA as it already had de facto..
Trump is no fool and has Israel’s interests deeply embedded in his heart.
Being the best US President for Israel in history was no accident.
So stop making silly analogies with mousetraps and a totally outdated never really considered talking-point.
Recall Tzipi Livni was appointed the lead in Israeli-Arab “discussions” which had no ending -as it was planned that way.
Just time wasting talking-points as I’ve said.
‘
Al Arabiya reports Israel took out Salim Ayash (Hezbollah), the assassin who killed Lebanese PM Rafik al-Hariri back in 2005. Ayash had a $10 million US bounty on him.
@Edgar G.
A 23rd Arab state in both Gaza and Judea and Samaria with a connection between them that cuts Israel in half at the waist is a mouse trap for the YESHA Arabs…
NO, Israel is not the cheese, the cheese is the fake offer of partial sovereignty in J&S for Israel followed by the two-state FINAL (for Israel and Jews, to make it clear) solution.
The last time it was offered, the settlers figured it out, I hope they will do the same this time.
brooklynbubba
We ALL know the 3NOS.
in case you missed them they are plastered at the very top of each israpundit issue.
You should wipe your glasses, better get new ones, and a little saechal.
READER-
If it IS a mousetrap, the cheese certainly is NOT Israel. If it is a trap it’s set for the YESHA Arabs, with Israel waiting right within striking distance.
Trump: Pompeo and Haley won’t be in second Trump administration. This shouldn’t surprise anyone.
EXACTLY – no room to squirm – TRUMP LISTEN!!!!
Israel should declare three nos;
no to nuclear Iran, no to two-state solution, no to bi-national state
DON’T ALLOW IRAN TO WIN AN INCH!!!!!

@peloni
It is not your opinion, it is ESP.
If Trump wants a decisive victory for Israel, why does he keep insulting Jews?
About his anger – I was being sarcastic, I imagined the Jewish self-blame reaction, how we haven’t done enough to have him elected thus causing his righteous anger.
Reader
To Trump it necessitates a decisive Israeli victory. What I or the Dearborne Arabs believe are quite irrelevant, but what Trump’s own spokeswoman states, Trump wants a decisive victory for Israel, which is what I stated, and it is not my opinion.
I thought you weren’t complaining?
Is he STILL angry with us?!
What are we TO DO!?!?!?
@peloni
It is YOUR OPINION.
TO YOU it necessitates a decisive ISRAELI victory, TO THEM it necessitates a decisive ARAB victory which means turning all of Israel into “Palestine” and getting rid of all the Jews.
Whatever Trump said could be understood either way depending on the way one wanted to understand it.
Anyway, when Trump takes power, he will have to disappoint either the Jews or the Arabs and occasionally both.

@Reader
Trump did not promise everything and anything to the Arabs of Dearborne. In fact, he was asked to support the TSS and to agree that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza. While ignoring these statements, Trump renewed his support for peace in the region. He also did not walk back his earlier statements of destroying Hamas and Hezbollah and denying Iran the ability to become a nuclear power. While it was not pleasing to see him seek out support of these vile terror-supporting Dearborners, there was common ground to be exploited, and Trump needed an overwhelming victory to clinch the too big to rig strategy which won him the election.
What is more, the very peace which Trump is promising the Dearborne Hamas supporters, necessitates a decisive Israeli victory over Hamas and Hezbollah. Maintaining Israel as the regional strong horse is the clinching factor which brough about the Abraham Accords, and it will also be the clinching factor which will make the IMEC possible. For this to take place, it will require a remaking of the Middle East, and the elimination of both Hezbollah and Hamas, both of which are notorious and outright enemies of the US. Yet, time will tell how complete the victory over Hezbollah will be, and how long it will take Israel to achieve this outcome now that they have removed the squeaky wheel Gallant and replaced him with what appears to be a far more formidable DM in Katz.
@Edgar
If my post, as you say, had a pejorative aspect against Trump, it was EXACTLY that it was politics and he was looking for votes.
To me, it is immoral to promise anything and everything to everyone knowing that you will get out of it later just so you can get more votes.
It is surely great marketing and entertainment but…
READER-
No, you didn’t mentionn Harris, but to me, it was implied. Your post had a pejorative aspect against trump, for which I had to respond that it was POLITICS and he was looking for votes.
If I am/was in error I deeply apologise and please regard it as not said.
@Edgar
I didn’t say anything about Harris, and I certainly wasn’t complaining.
I said that Trump went to Dearborn to court the Arab voters.
Apparently, it worked and he got their votes.
Clever, clever!
READER_
You were complaining that Trump was Appeasing muslims in his Dearborn rally. And tat it would only help Harris because of the large Muslim Pop.
Well he carried Michegan handily. That tells us Something-don’t know what….yet.
TRUMP so far has 297 Electoral College votes. A looming landslie as was predicted.
It also shows up all the fake sites and video news casts who were totally misleading.
@Peloni, correct me if I am wrong you reside not in Israel nor have you lived in Israel for a long time? The following is not meant to offend you so please take no offense.
Dermer is a bright man and is loyal to Israel and Bibi. He is very useful to Bibi as he trusts his intelligence and complete loyalty. That all said Israelis would never elect him to a post such as Prime Minister. He has no constituency even among the moderate amount of American Olim ( immigrants) in Israel.
Like him or not Bennett has a significant amount of people that would vote for him
they range from the center to the moderate right on the political spectrum. Whether he gets to be Prime Minister ever I do not know as that has too many variables in it to calculate and I am not a fortune teller.
Bennett has been elected to office more than once. He has made mistakes but many people have forgotten or forgiven them. When Bibi is out of the picture or even if he runs at the head of a new party next election, while Bibi is still around expect him to be in the Knesset perhaps with a decent sized party according to many previous scenario polls. Who know he could even be in a coalition with the Likud, eventually moving into the Likud in some manner.
@Edgar
Or longer. The problem in the long term lies in who might become Bibi’s ultimate successor, and herein lies a potentially serious problem. Hopefully, the well disgraced Bennett and Saar will not be in the running, even as they are each taking a different road to try to obscure their costly efforts to depose Bibi, which were honestly not very long ago.
I am curious who you would prefer as Bibi’s heir. Personally, I like Dermer. He is brilliant, capable, experienced, and completely aligned with Bibi on stressing Israeli interests over American demands. I know others prefer Barkat and now Katz will no doubt increase his already well established position among Likud supporters, but I think Dermer would be a far better choice than the other potential leaders who might follow Bibi. Hopefully, this is a topic which will not need deciding anytime soon, and of course, doing so during the ongoing war would be far from ideal, but it is a topic which needs addressing, and hopefully Bibi will take some role in doing so in the not too distant future. Though we are all aware of how reluctant he has been to do so in the past, his support in such an undertaking would be an important, if not deciding, factor on where the politicians and public might place their trust.
Yes Peloni right on cue, Bennett snakes his way back to the public eye. Not for long I hope.
The Israeli public KNOW that Trump and the P.M are very close so a right wing govt seems a certainly for the next 4=5=6 years.
Fox News projects Republicans with outright majority in Senate
@Edgar
And right on queue, Bennett steps up to fill the void of America’s man in Jerusalem, the anti-Bibi as it were.
GALLANT FIRED-
Katz expected to succeed.
READER-
Only to be expected in what we call POLITICS. He’s looking for votes of course, He’s in an election where every vote counts.
So what’s wrong with that??
