  1. It’s Vance. I had a feeling it would be after legacy media pundits began saying he was unacceptable because of
what he tweeted after the attempt on Trump’s life. The most important characteristic a VP must have is to be unacceptable.

  2. I just had a thought about “proportional” responses. In regard to the attempted assassination of former President Trump, shouldn’t the Secret Service have responded proportionally by just shooting the assassin’s ear off?

  3. Apparently, there were two shooters? Just like the JFK shooting. Trump has promised to declassify the rest of the JFK files. The CIA had apparently pressured him out of it before. Could this have been a warning like the one Reagan apparently got when he survived an assassination attempt? I mean what are the odds, that a) a shooter would get this far, much less, two and then b) fuck it up? Just enough. Something’s rotten in the state of Denmark. Just speculating here. based on the videos posted. I’m not a spook, retired or otherwise.

  4. @Michael

“For those interested, Nigel Farage and Michael Tice swearing fealty to Charles III, Sovereign of the UK, Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, New Zealand, the Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, Papua New Guine, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.”

Actually, Jews were doing much better in the old empires on the eve of WWI than the nation states that replaced them.

Case in point in the Twilight Zone. As I said, there is no ideology or system of government you could name that has not been alternately used to promote persecution, toleration and/or indiffference towards the Jews, sometimes just persecution. Ironically, it’s just another false universalist solution to a particularist problem that no one will solve for us, but one we must solve ourselves with the help of any friends who wish to, of course.

Napoleon Bonaparte conquered much of Europe and freed the Jews from the ghettos, issuing a letter calling for the rebirth of the Jewish Commonwealth in the land of Israel under French imperial protection in the 1790’s before he was even Emperor.

Jews couldn’t serve in the Parliament [ of Great Britain which defeated him and restored the status quo ante) without taking the Christian oath until 1858!

Here’s John Bagot Glubb (Glubb Pasha) being knighted by the Queen in 1956 for your edification.

You may recall, he organized the Jordanian Arab Legion and led them in attempting to exterminate the Jews of Israel in 1948. Enjoy.

    “General Glubb Knighted (1956)

    https://youtu.be/1wsJbMiMSH8?si=Fm5Z-xUvhrv0Asqp

Say, where do I go to swear fealty to this guy, while we’re at it, if we’re gonna go all feudal:

“On this [5th] day [of May] in 1821 His Imperial and Royal Majesty Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French, King of Italy, First Consul of the French Republic, President of the Italian Republic, Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine, Mediator of the Swiss Confederation, and Co-Prince of Andorra, died.”

Alas, no Youtube video of his coronation available. Can’t understand it. Censorship?

The film clips on the television news every day of Reagain’s death lasted a week, at least. General Francisco Franco, the Spanish dictator’s death lasted much longer than that as SNL noted at the time.

“”Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead” is a catchphrase that originated in 1975 during the first season of NBC’s Saturday Night (now called Saturday Night Live, or SNL) and which mocked the weeks-long media reports of the impending death of Francisco Franco. It was one of the first catchphrases from the series to enter the general lexicon.

    Origin
The death (on November 20, 1975) of Spanish dictator Francisco Franco during the first season of NBC’s Saturday Night originated the phrase. Franco’s presumed imminent death had been a headline story on NBC News and other news organizations for several weeks. On slow news days, United States network television newscasters sometimes noted that Franco was still alive.

Following Franco’s death, Chevy Chase, host of NBC’s Saturday Night’s comedic news segment Weekend Update, announced Franco’s death and read a statement from former president Richard Nixon: “General Franco was a loyal friend and ally of the United States. He earned worldwide respect for Spain through firmness and fairness.”[1] As an ironic counterpoint to this, a picture was displayed behind Chase, showing Franco giving the Roman salute alongside Adolf Hitler.[2]

In subsequent weeks, Chase developed the joke into a parody of the earlier news coverage of Franco’s illness, treating his death as the top story. “This breaking news just in”, Chase would announce – “Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead!”[3] Occasionally, Chase would change the wording slightly in attempts to keep the joke fresh, e.g. “Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still valiantly holding on in his fight to remain dead.”[4] The joke was sometimes combined with another running gag in which Garrett Morris, “head of the New York School for the Hard of Hearing” would cup his hands around his mouth and shout the news as Chase read it. The gag ran until early 1977, with occasional callbacks in later seasons.

    Legacy
The phrase has remained in use since Franco’s death. James Taranto’s Best of the Web Today column at OpinionJournal.com used the phrase as a tag for newspaper headlines that indicate something is still happening when it should be obvious. On February 8, 2007, during Jack Cafferty’s segment on CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on the day of her death, he asked the host: “Is Anna Nicole Smith still dead, Wolf?”[5] It was also used now and then on NBC News Overnight in the early 1980s, and Keith Olbermann occasionally used it on Countdown. In 2013, it experienced a brief resurgence in a different context, when it began appearing on social media a few days after the death of Spanish filmmaker Jesús Franco.

The Wall Street Journal used the headline “Generalísimo Francisco Franco Is Still Dead – And His Statues Are Next”[6] on its front page March 2, 2009. The newspaper used it once again on its front page in the headline “Generalísimo Francisco Franco Is Still Dead – But for some not dead enough” on August 21, 2015, when it reported about critics calling to enforce a 2007 anti-Franco law in Madrid and to rename streets and plazas, after the last election had ended the 24-year reign of conservatives in the city council.[7]

Although SNL’s use is the most widely known, it is predated by the “‘John Garfield Still Dead’ syndrome,” which originated as a result of extensive coverage in the wake of actor John Garfield’s death and funeral in 1952.[8]

After a brief in memoriam during SNL’s 40th Anniversary Special on February 15, 2015, Bill Murray ended the segment with the famous phrase which “just came in from Spain.”

The phrase is listed in The Oxford Dictionary of Catchphrases.[9]”

  5. This one’s for Michael and Felix co-mmiserating ’cause it’s summer:

Amputee lion who survived being gored and attempted poachings makes record-breaking swim across predator-infested waters

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/amputee-lion-record-breaking-swim-across-predator-infested-waters-with-brother/

Article doesn’t say whether the lion was a Christian, a Jew or a Trotskyist but I’m sure global warming was the first thing on his mind so it’s a moot point, of course.

  6. A post by Vivarto popped up on my FB newsfeed:

Real friends help their friends to see their blind spot.

I shared his post on mine with my response:

Only in a debating society like Israpundit. In every day life, it’s a guaranteed recipe for remaining single and friendless. 😀

  7. A Question popped up on my FB newsfeed:

If you had to give a 30-minute presentation on a topic with no preparation, what could you talk about?

    And I responded:

I did that – I mean I had done a ton of research but I didn’t know what to say – and then somebody asked me the right question at the luncheon just before and it all came pouring out of me – And I won the City University of New York Scholars Day Competition in the Humanities in 1994 – First Prize. The topic was “Thomas Nast and the Historiography of the Political Cartoon in Reconstruction-Era America” with slide show and Q&A.

  8. A significant number of Jews gave their energies to the antislavery movement. Many 19th century Jews, such as Adolphe Crémieux, participated in the moral outcry against slavery. In 1849, Crémieux announced the abolition of slavery throughout the French possessions.

In Britain, there were Jewish members of the abolition groups. Granville Sharp and Wilberforce, in his “A Letter on the Abolition of the Slave Trade”, employed Jewish teachings as arguments against slavery. Rabbi G. Gottheil of Manchester, and Dr. L. Philippson of Bonn and Magdeburg, forcibly combated the view announced by Southern sympathizers that Judaism supports slavery. Rabbi M. Mielziner’s anti-slavery work “Die Verhältnisse der Sklaverei bei den Alten Hebräern”, published in 1859, was translated and published in the United States as “Slavery Among Hebrews”.[163] Similarly, in Germany, Berthold Auerbach in his fictional work “Das Landhaus am Rhein” aroused public opinion against slavery and the slave trade, and Heinrich Heine also spoke against slavery.[163] Immigrant Jews were among abolitionist John Brown’s band of antislavery fighters in Kansas, including Theodore Wiener (from Poland); Jacob Benjamin (from Bohemia), and August Bondi (1833–1907) from Vienna.[164][165] Nathan Meyer Rothschild was known for his role in the British abolition of the slave trade through his partial financing of the £20 million British government compensation paid to former owners of the freed slaves.[166]

A Jewish woman, Ernestine Rose, was called “queen of the platforms” in the 19th century because of her speeches in favor of abolition.[167] Her lectures were met with controversy. Her most ill-received appearance was likely in Charleston, Virginia (today West Virginia), where her lecture on the evils of slavery was met with such vehement opposition and outrage that she was forced to exercise considerable influence to even get out of the city safely.[168].

    If I were a Christian…

Nicely noted. Geller and Spencer are to be highly applauded for their efforts to promote these reports, and they are terrible and horrific to contemplate.

  10. @Michael If I were a Christian, my top issue would be the Islamist persecution of Christians in Africa and Pakistan. These almost daily atrocities are well-covered by Jihadwatch and the Pamela Geller report as well as the Sudan anti-Slavery society yet despite the fact that the abolitionist movement in the U.S. was led by Evangelical Christians and some Jews like John Brown’s lieutenants, , the silence from Christians abroad is deafening. Who is leading the solidarity fight on their behalf, as usual?

…Manger’s poem “Oyfn veg shteyt a boym” (“On the Road Stands a Tree”) has been set to music and has entered the repertoire of Yiddish song, for example as a 1951 hit for Leo Fuld….

Shortly before his death, the Itzik Manger Prize for outstanding Yiddish writing was established. The inaugural prize was given to Manger himself at a banquet on 31 October 1968. The banquet was attended by Golda Meir, then the prime minister of Israel, and by Zalman Shazar, then president.[11] Subsequently, the prize was awarded annually until about 2000….

  13. @Michael I know a feller who singlehandedly chopped down the Sahara Forest, if that’s any interest to you.

  14. Peloni

I will try to plot out the main points of Holmes in the video. Life here in S Spain is difficult to work in. People try to exist using air conditioning but this makes the overall situation worse and my body was created in the north. I will try nevertheless to map out Holme’s points.

  15. @Michael

None of the items you listed are of interest to me.

So you do ask questions but choose to ignore the answers? How amusingly Isolationist of you?

Nota bene: Your domestic issues will not save you from a nuclear Iran which America has caused to first be controlled by the Mullahs, next to be able to put down the following revolts against their rule, to spread effortlessly across a destabilized Arabia (all but inside Iran of course), and then to be granted American-led protections as they developed their nuclear bomb program.

What is more is that America today is captured under the tyranny which was pressed on America by her own lack of due diligence. Someone said a Republic as long as you can keep it, and that is the point. The republic fell due to Americans failing to tend to their own due diligence in their own governing process. So the ambitious stole the reigns while those satisfied with their own lives ignored the savagery which was taking place in their names across the globe, and that would also include the cultivation of the Iranian nuclear menace.

So as you stick your head in the sand and claim to be focusing on the selective subjects you cited, don’t be too surprised when the Iranians finally get around to dealing with the big Satan, that is of course, unless Israel does the job for America that she did during Operation Opera and Outside The Box, when the nuclear reactors of Iraq and Syria were destroyed by Israel against American demands.

Also take note that when Trump returns to the White House, you will have the benefit of having someone with the sense and capability of chewing gum and thinking at the same time, ie he won’t limit his interests to your short sighted list of concerns – even as they are significant issues, they are not the limit of the greatest threats facing America due to American more than gross incompetence, as in Iran, and more than gross overreach, as in Ukraine. Trump knows this well, which is why the Trump’s foreign policy was never that of an isolationist, which may disappoint you. He is an sharp internationalist with an America First perspective, and in this respect, there is no disagreement with Israel, which is why Trump’s Israel policy was a major pillar of Trump’s foreign policy agenda. A strong, vibrant and successful Israel supports a strong, vibrant, and successful America, and Trump is wise enough to grasp this, even as many of his isolationist supporters remain clueless of, or uninterested in, this fact and its many benefits

  16. Peloni,

None of the items you listed are of interest to me. How have you, or Israel

    1. brought down inflation?
    2. secured our border?
    3. put an end to the lawfare that has incarcerated hundreds of innocent Americans?
    4. gotten rid of pornography, genital mutilation and brainwashing of the children in our schools?
    5. thrown in jail dangerous felons like Hunter Biden

F-16s, intelligence sharing, etc. mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, as long as we are languishing under this regime.

As for you personally, you and Ted have provided me and others here the opportunitiy to express ourselves. That is more important than F-16s. You truly merit my thanks and support. But Israel? Israel has done one thing for me, more valuable than all these other things: The King of Israel has delivered me fromj eternal damnation.

Now that I’ve asked these “vital” questions, do you still consider me an “isolationist”?

  17. @Sebastien
I wanted to thank you for your very thorough response to Laura. You raise many important points which should be considered by all. Personally, I disagree with you about the Ukrainian Nazi’s being paper Nazi’s (cleverly termed). At the moment, the Ukrainians have their hands full as they are fully focused on not being completely overwhelmed by the Russians, but when that focus is altered, presumably by a frozen conflict arrangement, we will see how safe the Jews of Ukraine will remain to be. The fact that Zel failed the nation so badly, leaving it vivisected with the greatest concentration of the the nation’s natural resources on the wrong side of that vivisection line will certainly draw an unwanted connection to the Ukrainian Jews. The same will be true with regards to the corruption which Zel is coordinating instead of defeating – one of the most obvious examples of which would be that while the war goes badly, the desperately needed military earthworks were badly ‘mismanaged’ and this catastrophic failure was in no small part Zel’s responsibility. In truth, Zel has nothing for which to worry as his future is well prepared in one of his many international estates for him and his family, along with his own Big Guy cut of the gross receipts being run thru the Mafia capital of the world. Yet, while Zel is safely away in far off wherever with all the money and luxury his pretense at being ‘the servant of the people’ has brought him, the Jews of Ukraine will remain in Ukraine where the idolization of the perpetrators of the Holocaust is ever on public display, all across that wretchedly corrupt and antisemitic nation – recall too on this point that the Waffen SS Nazi who Zel celebrated in Canada was later openly lauded with an award back in Ukraine. The connection, adoration, and reverence for those who were responsible and who perpetrated the Holocaust in Ukraine is ever present. So, even as these obvious perspectives are not currently being acted upon, this suggests, to me at least, that the paper Nazi’s metaphor is less accurate than many might think, IMO at least.

If for instance the war with Russia comes to a state of being a frozen conflict, will Ukraine’s frozen conflict with the Jews of Ukraine begin to melt, so to speak? Time will tell, of course, but it is a fear which I am in no small way inclined to believe the answer will be in the affirmative, which is why the Nazi element in Ukraine, which is no myth, remains a great concern for me as regards the Jews who are currently trapped/living there. Just my own thoughts of course.

  18. @Sebastien

What part have I left out?

It is really implied in what you stated, but national interests would include what other nations might do for us going forward, which is why I stated ‘in part’.

  19. Hi, Peloni. You said,

“Isolationists would never ask any questions, but would always answer “good luck with that””

I have been called an “isolationist”. Are you accusing me of not asking any questions? (That’s a question, by the way). BTW, what have you, or Israel, done for me lately?

  20. @Michael

That sounds like “isolationism” to me.

It is not isolationism. Isolationists would never ask any questions, but would always answer “good luck with that”.

In fact, nations don’t have friends but interests, and it is exactly those national interests to which Sebastien’s quesion “What have you done for us lately” addresses, in part in any event.

  21. Hi, Sebastien

When anyone asks Israel or Jews, in general for support in a conflict, our motto should be: “What have you done for us, lately?” Absent that, it should be, “good luck with that; we have our own problems. Have a nice day.”

That sounds like “isolationism” to me.

  22. @Laura

Ukraine isn’t a threat to Jews and the only reason Jews are endangered in the west is because of muslim migrants.

I agree. Ukraine’s Nazis are paper Nazis as far as the Jews are concerned though they are genocidal towards Russians. This, however, wouldn’t be our problem but for the fact that Russia is a nuclear power that is getting closer and closer to our enemies just because we are mucking around in its backyard as we wouldn’t tolerate them doing in ours. As we didn’t, in fact. Though to be fair, the secret codicil of the agreement of the Soviets to take missiles out of Cuba was that the U.S. would take its out of Turkey. I happen to think the Russian speaking minority of Ukraine that rebelled is in the right but its a moot point.

I also think the natives of Western Sahara, whose fighting organization is the Polisario Front are right in their struggle against Moroccan Colonialism but Israel recognized Morocco’s claim as a condition for the Abraham Accords so I’m cool with it. Same with Ukraine. I don’t care who is right if a cease-fire and armistice lines – much like the one between Israel and the Arabs in 1948 or North and South Korea would end the conflict because all I care about at the end of the day is getting Russia off Israel’s back. It can be done because they have no ideological skin in the game, so to speak. And neither Russia nor Ukraine persecutes Jews today.

But, they both vote to condemn Israel every time. All these peoples who talk as if Jews have some kind of a duty to side with them. The Armenians are another one, not to mention the Kurds. So what if they have also been threatened with genocide in the past. Have you ever heard of any of them protesting the attacks on Israel, on Jews in the West? (Except Azerbaijan that erected a huge blue and white structure of lights in the shape of the Israeli Flag in solidarity after Oct. 7, though it still condemns Israel along with the rest of the world except for the U.S. and Micronesia every time) Though there were protests on behalf of that criminal, George Floyd, all over the world, in countries that have no black people. Screw them. Let’s just look after our own for a change.

When anyone asks Israel or Jews, in general for support in a conflict, our motto should be: “What have you done for us, lately?” Absent that, it should be, “good luck with that; we have our own problems. Have a nice day.”

“Among the tens of thousands who participated in the recent Walk with Israel event in Toronto on Sunday was a group of Indigenous supporters, some of whom had travelled halfway around the planet to stand in solidarity with their Jewish Canadian friends and colleagues.

“Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem is a project of Indigenous Coalition for Israel, a global group of First Nations people lending their voices in support of Israel and its people.”

Holmes does a good service when he talked about the rabid snuggling of wildlife in that part of the world.

We only see this in like a 40 seconds TV clip but Holmes gave a lot of welcome detail in the trade out of Malaysia

It was an aside. It showed to me the crisis ridden nature of Chinese Stalinism.

It takes time to tell this story.

Yet those were useful remarks made by Holmes. The whole picture has to be understood.

Now here is another video of again Vincent of TWIV interview with Holmes

At just over 1 minute Holmes explains precisely what happened

    https://youtu.be/Jh45SeXE9GE?si=ezWsn02UTvN11lAI

In a space of four minutes Holmes sketches out key facts

They pretty well prove with no ambiguity that the virus came from animals no different to all previous, especially the Sars 1

  25. And you’re a Bolshevik throwback.

I see your post Laura. You are a complete slave and servant to this system and we are a millisecond before total end of life.

So now we’re denying it was a children’s hospital? You sound like the hamasniks.

I need a good job done on exposure of the story not being told…and Putin is inadequate…on this “Children Hospital” in Kiev

  26. I see your post Laura. You are a complete slave and servant to this system and we are a millisecond before total end of life.

Israpundit I’m sorry to say has gone downhill. It has become befuddled by complexity.

I need a good job done on exposure of the story not being told…and Putin is inadequate…on this “Children Hospital” in Kiev

RT is shut. And information is sewn up

And Israpundit is NOT doing its job

And the greatest befuddler I’ve ever met is Peloni the man in effective control.

Israpundit is a collection of egos who do not work together.

  27. @Felix

This video was not taken up by you at all, completely ignored

Actually, I provided you my response on this topic more than once, and specifically addressed what you found important in the Holmse video, to which you failed to provide any response. Here is the response which you obviously overlooked:
    https://www.israpundit.org/chit-chat/comment-page-146/#comment-63356000278766

As I noted at the time, I am quite happy to comment further, but to be honest you have been more than a bit sharp of late, to the point of being intentionally abusive, and I really have no interest carrying on a discussion with someone who is more inclined to chastise my comments as being a lesson to granny about some eggs, another of your sharp comments, the meaning or merit of which left me amusingly puzzled. In any event, if you have an interest in furthering this discussion, leave such unpleasant remarks aside and I would be happy to respond. Otherwise, enjoy your day and your videos, which I do find to be more inclined towards propaganda than scientific argument.

  28. Still defending the indefensible Russians and parroting Kremlin propaganda.

Jews should watch very carefully the antics of the massive West Empire and the Ukrainian proxies ( the children hospital reminds of Zelensky bombing Poland)

  29. I’m worried about the empires of Iran, the islamic caliphate and China. You have your priorities screwed up Felix. Ukraine isn’t a threat to Jews and the only reason Jews are endangered in the west is because of muslim migrants. Far from an empire, if anything, the west is weak, in retreat and self-destructive. The problem in the west is its failure to defend its values and ceding power to muslims and china. What western empire is there when the west itself is being engulfed by islam?

Jews should watch very carefully the antics of the massive West Empire and the Ukrainian proxies ( the children hospital reminds of Zelensky bombing Poland)

  30. Jews should watch very carefully the antics of the massive West Empire and the Ukrainian proxies ( the children hospital reminds of Zelensky bombing Poland)

The media have things sewn up.

    And no party to expose

  31. Again in the above you refer to the “unscientific frauds” but that kind of nasty name calling is useless. You have to attempt to show how that is. You don’t even try. But that is a method of arguing that must be exposed.
