  1. Ted,

I just posted, I believe, on Chit Chat; but the post seems to have disappeared. Thank you for your interest in these things.

    Shalom shalom 🙂

  2. Hi, Tanna. I missed your post from November 8, at 3:59 PM

Those “young people” you described are certainly living beyond their means; but they are well off compared to, say, my son. If they can secure a loan for a pickup truck, boat trailer and boat, and are still young and strong enough to work if they want to, they still have time to make a drastic course correction — the kind, unfortunately, which often leads to divorce and many more ills.

Greedy bankers? From all I can see, the greed is mostly supply-side: The US Treasury, fueled by lobbyist bribes, seems to be force-feeding the banking industry with more taxpayer money than they can possibly handle. If UPS dropped off a big box of $100 bills at your doorstep every day, for you to do with whatever you want and never have to pay back, would you refuse to accept the packages?

You’re talking about, say, 16-40-year olds. For me, that period began in the 1960s, which slid into the 1970s recession. No pickup truck, boat, etc. Most of that time, I was either out of work or earning minimum wage, as we raised our children through their teen years (My wife had steady work, which kept us alive). We funneled our money into schooling for our children, the church and charities. Now we are comfortably retired, and able to help others.

Such were our priorities, and such are our results, and we have only thanks to God — no regrets. If someone else wants to go bust, toting a boat behind his pickup truck, and some bankers want to live high on the hog on our savings, this won’t hurt us; but yes, as you say, “It’s a hard rain’s gonna fall” for a lot of people.

  3. Another suspect who murdered a Jew released:

Pro-Palestinian Protester Identified as Suspect in Death of Jewish Man in California
    Judy Maltz Nov 7, 2023

A 50-year-old participant in a pro-Palestinian protest in Southern California has been identified as a suspect in the death of a Jewish counter-protester, a senior law enforcement official announced on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference, Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff said the suspect had not be named or arrested, noting that police had received conflicting reports from witnesses about what had caused 69-year-old Paul Kessler to fall and sustain a lethal blow to the back of his head.

“I can’t comment on the results of that search warrant, as the investigation is ongoing,” said Fryhoff. “We haven’t ruled out the possibility of a hate crime, and it’s being investigated as a homicide.”

A homicide in this case, he explained, does not necessarily mean that a crime was committed.

According to the sheriff, Kessler was conscious when police and medical personnel arrived at the scene. He said the suspect, who was “advocating for Palestine,” was one of the people who had put in a call to 911. “He was cooperative and indicated he was involved in the altercation with Kessler,” said the sheriff. [Kessler was struck with a megaphone before he fell to the ground and hit his head]

  4. @Edgar
Thanks for the correction on Sam Woll. Yes, she was not a rabbi but the president of the board of the synagogue. My mistake.

  5. PELONI-

His outlined statement is more than ambiguous. He doesn’t exactly contradict himself , but leaves an open door situation. In my opinion anyway.

On another Point….. Samanths Woll was not a Rabbi as far as I know, she was a Synagogue President and Communal worker. A political advisor also, Dem to the bone of course.

  6. @Sebastien
Yes, I saw that. A former federal prosecutor stated that the only reason why they would handle the case so surreptitiously after it being so prominently reported upon would be due to their case likely being far from air tight. Once they charge him, which they did not do, the possibility of expanding the investgation becomes difficult. He indicated that they probably brought the suspect in to sweat him or others into providing more evidence than they had.

  7. @Edgar
Bibi has himself contradicted his previously dogmatic statement regarding his future vision for Gaza. He did so on Fox yesterday and even more recently affirmed his new policy during a press conference today.

I repeat the security control includes meaning we can go in and out whenever we need to in order to eliminate the terrorists when they show up again. [The civilian control must not be the PA], but securitywise it must be us.

He also indicated that Israel will build and maintain a much larger military.

  8. Here is a Paradox…

Over a week ago Ron Dermer, the PM’s closest confidante announced that in Gaza after Hamas is destroyed, the “Palestinians” will rule,

But Netanyahu more recently had stated several times very openly. that Israel will control Gaza indefinitely, (maybe for ever)_

  9. It is curious that the murder of a Detroit Rabbi has been solved with the culprit in hand, and yet the identity, his motive, and the complete context of Sam Woll’s murder has been withheld from the public. This is even more so given that the authorities have insisted since Woll was first found stabbed to death that her murder was not related to the Jew hatred being popularized around the nation, and most notably, a massive gathering of Jew haters took place some fifteen minutes from Woll’s home on the day she was murdered. Just repeated statements that Woll, who was herself politically active among the Detroit Dems, was not killed because she was a Jew. We shall see what comes from this, but it would seem quite reasonable that the import of revealing the details of her murder, any detail of her murder for that matter, would be made more acute in the current atmosphere where we have seen Jews beaten, illegally detained, and murdered by Jew hating mobs in recent days.

  10. Thanks-giving Turkey

FBI Seized NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ Phones, iPad

Mr. Adams has visited Turkey multiple times, including as part of official duties in different public offices.

“…I’m probably the only mayor in the history of this city that has not only visited Turkey once, but I think I’m on my sixth or seventh visit to Turkey,” Mr. Adams said at a Turkish flag-raising ceremony in New York recently.

Two of those trips were made while he was the Brooklyn Borough President.

Campaign records show that he received donations from three members of a foundation opened by the son of the Turkish president…

  12. The fact that Israel is so dependent on the US for resuppy is another matter of gross neglect. Its not like we didn’t know that they would bust our balls.
We should have planned for such a contingency.

  13. Yesterday Bibi was interviewed by FOX.

“We don’t want to seek to govern Gaza. We don’t seek to occupy, but we seek to give it and us a better future in the entire Middle East. And that requires defeating Hamas. I’ve set goals. I didn’t set a timetable because, you know, it can take more time,”

Very dissappointing. Glick has it right. We must annex the land. How do Israelis feel about that issue?

  14. Michael, Too short of space and time to fully discuss. I agree somewhat with the link. I think there is a lot of hype / mixed with the truth of economic factors we all have to contend with. The bankers are greedy bastards. In 1978 I figured out that the Mafia was better to do business with then my local bank / mortgage company. I was looking at a house to purchase and they wanted twice as much interest as I was paying for the home. MY EYES where opened. Our generation started with nothing and worked to get where we are at 6o + years. This younger generation wants it all when they leave home. They do not want to work for it. Yes, some do but, in my world, most just settle for less.

I’m speaking for the age groups of less then 40 yr. olds. I tell them, you better get it now because when you hit about 50-55, where you are …… is where you will be till you die.

This young generation see nothing wrong with purchasing a $1000 cell phone, driving a new car, living in a new 3/4 bedroom house they can’t afford, taking vacations on a credit card. Going out to eat weekly. New boats and truck to pull the boat to the lake, Another 50 -100,000 in the hole.

Another good recession or depression will truly make slaves out of all these kids. HOMELESS KIDS. Why, because they play the game and if I might add, the powers that rule this world have made escaping the game almost nearly impossible. Our parents and grandparents were playing the game somewhat when the last great depression hit in 32. It forever changed their lives and spending habits.

I fear for my grandchildren. I’m working to help secure their future after I’m gone, but they will play by my rules or scratch out their own living. A well thought out estate plan can protect to some extent from stupid people and greedy bankers and lawyers without morales and ethics. I’m still trying to figure out how to protect against My incestuous uncle sam.

  15. I just read that on a Sky Interview Ron Dermer said that “Palestinians” will rule Gaza but they won’t be Hamas. He also was discussing the “2 SS” as if it could be viable but within certain limitations.

In other words he, an important Government Cabinet Minister is assuming that after Hamas is stamped out, we will be still up to our necks in Arabs.

  16. These numbers seem unreal. Any comments?

The American middle class is dying right before our eyes. In the past decade alone, middle-income earners lost more purchasing power than they did between 1970 and 1990. That’s all thanks to the rising cost of living in the United States, which pushed median home prices from $17,000 in the 70s to almost $450,000 today. Cars, healthcare, education, gas, utilities, and everything we consume have faced an exponential price increase, but incomes have only risen by 66% over the last five decades, and inflation continues to eat away a higher share of people’s pay every month.

  17. From Channel 12:

Senior officers addressed the residents of Otef in the shadow of the October 7 failure, and told them: “We hope to die on the battlefield in Gaza, because we are ashamed that we abandoned you. Even so, we die of shame. At least we will die trying to protect you properly and restore your security, we assure you that we will win the war.”
    @SteinmanTamir

  18. @Bear

Biden and company are very inconsistent

They are not inconsistent, but rather I would argue that they are duplicitous. Their greater concern is not to preserve Hamas, which can not be saved from the consequence of their unbridled savagery, but to preserve the greater Iranian proxy Hezbollah and Iran itself. The fallout from the horror enacted against the Gaza Envelop should bring down all three of these great threats poised before Israel, and which no reasonable individual could honestly believe that all three were not also involved in the planning, training and funding for this great crime. So Hamas will be left to her fate in order to save the Mullah’s greater assets in Lebanon and Iran, and if this agenda is the best case remedy available to Israel, well, the Islamists controlling the US State Dept will have won a sizeable victory indeed. Do recall that in the sum total of both Biden’s and Blinken’s lengthy speeches addressing October 7, the word Iran was never mentioned, not once. This despite the fact that Iran was very much on the mind of everyone in the world listening to both speeches. So too were they acting to replace the Nazi Hamas with its Nazi cousins in the PA and thus have a sum zero victory despite Hamas’ fate. The US Arabists running the US mean to pull the Mullah’s fat and that of the PA from the fire, and it is to this end which they have made their bargain of support to Israel which you find to be inconsistent, but this is only true if you ignore the fact that Iran should itself be under the gun at this very hour for what took place on October 7.

This is the purpose for which Israel has been threatened not to attack Hezbollah and it is why Hezbollah has cravenly accepted that Hamas’ fate is not something which they will act to seriously oppose. Hence, the purpose of the kabuki theater task of arming Israel but limiting its actions is to provide the Islamist junta in Washington with the means to claim that they were supporting Israel, when the truth is that the they were once more saving Iran and Hezbollah.

  19. Regarding all these Muslim countries that are suddenly joining the war, e.g. Yemen, Algeria, Turkey, etc., I propose the Ketzel Doctrine. Every country that declares war on Israel gets rewarded with a promise of a certain number of Gazans, proportional to what that country can sustain. So, Turkey would get a gift certificate for 1 million Gazans, Yemen would get 100,000, etc. The gift certificates would be redeemed at Israel’s convenience. The advantage is that the logistics wouldn’t have to be worked out, but the promise could be a deterrent. And the logistics aren’t all that difficult, either. If Europe can be invaded by all those inflatables, surely Algeria and the rest could be invaded the same way. Would the Muslims sink their brothers’ boats? Probably…

  20. @Peloni the Muslim’s in the USA are furious at Biden Administration for supplying Israel weapons and supporting it versus Hamas.

Though Biden and company are very inconsistent when they bring up initiatives about Islamophobia currently. So the GOP view is much cleaner support Israel and do not bring more potential terrorists to our shores.

  21. BREAKING:

The 20-year-old Palestinian asylum seeker Sohaib Abuayyash has been arrested by U.S. police for planning a bomb attack against Jews in the U.S.

Apart from the terror charges, Mr Abuayyash will also be taken to court for illegal possession of a firearm.

But the American govt is focusing its efforts to normalize the co-religionists of this terrorist rather than addressing the historic rise in antisemitism. Again, this is not a mistake, not an error in judgement. It is just American policy.

  22. Michael-

Yes it looks as if I am, except for Seb-(and I’m sure Peloni, Bear and Felix.
Adn there must be many others.)
. This is a horrible thought and evades my question. You should be a Field Commander with such evasive brilliance. Nippy on your poor old gouty 75-80 year old tootsies.( Just like poor old Kutuzov-Blucher also)

Ted- Michael is playing “follow the leader” here, you are a Canadian, who speaks English, not Americanese,.

  23. @al

A rein is a leather strap used to control a horse. To rein someone in is to control or restrict them, as if with reins. To reign is to rule.

  24. So, after NYC Mayor Adams criticizes Biden (who received money from China) for
mishandling the migrant crisis, the FBI raids the home of Adams’ chief fund raiser, Brianna Suggs, in ((predominantly Jewish) Crown Heights to investigate her for allegations she might have raised money from – wait for it- Turkey? 😀

  25. Edgar G.November 3, 2023 at 10:40 am
    MICHAEL-
Why do you, an educated man, use the term “reign in” which should always be “rein in”.

Because Ted used it? I guess you’re the only “educated” one here 😮

Ted Belman November 3, 2023 at 5:08 am
    @Michael Reign it in.

  26. TED-

I have a question for you completely off any subject yet discussed. No war, No politics.

You’ve posted that your family was Yiddish speaking, s I want to ask you if, in your youth , after sneezing, what would a listener say

In my Community mostly from Latvia, and Lithuania, After a sneeze, a kid was taught to “pull his earlobe, and recite

“Tzegezunt Tzeleben, Tzevaksen Tzekvellen, Uh Hundert Und Tzvantzig Yaar”.

Have you ever hear anything like this.

My reason for asking is that I just sneezed, and this suddenly re entered my mind.

Perhaps another poster may have heard this.

Also, during the War, the story went around that Hitler was a descendent of Haman, the proof being that he had pointed ears.

  27. MICHAEL-

Let me be clear on this. I don’t hate you because you are Christian, after all we are friends, Israpundit friends.

But I certainly hate the perfidious Christianity which has tortured and tormented Jews for nearly 2000 years without let up.

  28. MICHAEL-

Why do you, an educated man, use the term “reign in” which should always be “rein in”. Two completely different meanings.
Of course, you are an American….

  29. Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of her visit to London, V.P. Pamela Harris was asked whether the US should condition aid to Israel to get them to prioritize civilian harm reduction.

“We are going to continue to stand with Israel’s right to defend itself. And let’s be clear and never forget what happened on October 7th, where hundreds, thousands of — 1,400 innocent people were killed, slaughtered — young people who were simply attending a concert,” Harris replied.

And so, we are not going to create any conditions on the support that we are giving Israel to defend itself,” she added.

“We have talked and I have reiterated that we believe absolutely that Israel has a right to defend itself. We also believe very strongly in the importance of the rules of law, which include the importance of no intentional attacks on civilians and the importance of satisfying the need for humanitarian aid,” said the Vice President.

  30. TOI reports:

Blinken said he has five main agenda items for his trip to the region: Strategizing with Israel about its military campaign; ensuring that the war doesn’t spread to additional fronts; continuing efforts to get more humanitarian aid into Gaza; helping evacuate all American citizens and foreign nationals who want to leave Gaza; securing the release of the hostages; and setting the conditions for an eventual two-state solution after the war is over.

  31. Hi, Ted and Poloni.

The only criticism is of the unelected Biden administration’s policies.

I imagine this includes Christopher Wray and Sleepy Joe’s response to the Hamas atrocities by targeting “domestic terrorists” like Trump supporters, Pro-Lifers and PTA moms. Indeed, there is a lot there for US Christians to get concerned about. Seeing Jews chiming in with BLM black-shirts at the university doesn’t help either, nor the local synagogue endorsing BLM on their website; but of course, that doesn’t pertain to anyone here, nor the fact that half of the unelected (the mildest word for it) administration is Jewish have to do with anyone here. It all just adds to the reality that there’s nothing “Antisemitic” about these creatures — they want to get their teeth into the “Big Satan” Christians more than the Jews.

These are not ephemeral things, but at some point — and where I live, that could be as soon as tonight, I could see my own family come victim to the craziness egged on by people who are “not anti-Christian; just anti-American”, “not Anti-American, just anti-Maga”, “not-anti-Jesus, just anti-Bible”, “not anti-Bible, just anti-church”, etc.

Of course, I will “reign it in” Hitler and Stalin, cooperating with each other, went against my Jewish relatives with the same ferocity as they did my Christian relatives. They just got to wear differant patches on their pajamas before they were killied. As it was in those days, it looks like it’s playing out the same way now.

These are troubling times, for us and for our children.

  32. @Bear

Hamas is just a tool they use.

I believe this is true of all of Iran’s proxies, including Hezbollah. I have always believed that Nasrallah was more interested in preserving his army than using its destruction to call forth the Madhi. As to them playing defense, well I think that both Nasrallah and Israel, given the limited actions each have taken in recent days, demonstrated a greater interest in avoiding war than fighting one. Notably, Nasrallah has lost over 50 men, and I stopped keeping count two days ago, and as you are obviously aware, that is a good many for him to lose while still playing tit for tat. Notably, they upped their game with the deployment of drones in a recent attack yesterday, something which they had thus far restrained from doing.

To counter the belief that this report from Russia is not to be believed, however, Nasrallah’s pregnant pause before his big speech can not be intended to simply announce that they are cutting Hamas loose. The world has changed since October 7, and that change does not really allow for Israel to coexist with her enemies intact, particularly those which hold such a significant threat in close proximity as does Hezbollah. Israel knows this, and so too does Nasrallah, and so too do the Mullah’s. If they allow Israel to crush Hamas without any significant response, how are Nasrallah and the Mullah’s to believe that they would not be next. From their perspectives, it would seem impossible to allow Israel to complete this task. They do have a looming threat from the US allied fleet – a crazy number of battle wagons – just off the coast of Lebanon, but if Nasrallah is not going to respond, and Iran is going to sacrifice Hamas, would the head of the Guard show up in Lebanon to just to demonstrate to the world how impotent tthey are as their proxy is being crushed on live TV by the ‘paper spider Israel’? Also, if they are not going to respond why did they raise their religiously tied black flag in Tehran for the first time ever? And why did they make such a grand standing move as to announce this big speech by Nasrallah, if they are simply going to say goodbye to Hamas?

So it would seem sane to stand down and let Hamas face their fate alone, but Iran’s proxies are each a tool of the Mullahs. We should never lose sight of the fact that these are are not sane men. They are Armeggonists, intent upon drawing forth the Mahdi, and I believe there are more reasons to believe the Russian report than to doubt it, to be honest. Whereas I am far from certain in this conclusion, there does seem to be a great deal of pressure upon Iran to do something far more substantive than they have thus far done, so I am no so ready to disregard the Russian report. But we will know shortly.
