Peloni: Caroline Glick continues to be a national treasure as she has taken to join the current govt as International Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel.  The entire conversation in the attached link is important and illuminating, but the discussion below on what is commonly described as “aid” to Israel, but it is in fact an investment in Israel which provides an unequaled benefit to the American people, provides an important context to that investment.  By strengthening Israel, America itself is strengthened and is made safer.

  1. In Tariff article in JPost today

Netanyahu raised the issue in his phone call with Trump on Thursday, the Israeli officials said, while on a visit to Hungary. “Most of it can be solved,” one of the senior officials said.

An Israeli finance ministry official said on Thursday that Trump’s latest tariff announcement could impact Israel’s exports of machinery and medical equipment.

Israel had already moved to cancel its remaining tariffs on US imports on Tuesday. The two countries signed a free trade agreement 40 years ago and around 98% of goods from the US are now tax-free.

The 17% came from the tariffs Israel charge on US Agricultural goods at 33% I believe. Israeli farmers will be crushed without the tariffs and Israel will lose one of its original goals which more or less has satisfactorily achieve food independence.

Israel’s number one trading partner is the USA.

Israel Trade Summary U.S. goods exports to Israel in 2024 were $14.8 billion, up 5.8 percent ($813.7 million) from 2023. U.S. goods imports from Israel totaled $22.2 billion in 2024, up 6.7 percent ($1.4 billion) from 2023.
