I see this conflict as leading to divorce. It can’t be otherwise. Owens is simply intolerable
I agree with @Tanna. It is sad to compare this video of Candace Owens with the Candace Owens of 8 years ago. What I notice is that she has developed some pathological defenses.
First she experiences herself as a victim of the aggression of others. When you feel like a victim of someone else’s aggression, all the “aggression” is on their side of the line. So this absolves her of having to feel guilty about her aggressive feelings and impulses.
The Candace Owens she once was, used her “aggressive’ strivings in a healthy way: she used her brilliant mind to assert herself publicly and made thoughtful political arguments based upon facts.
Somewhere along the way she may have run out of internal permission for the success she experienced. At this point she appears to feel like a victim of someone else’s aggression (i.e. the purported aggression of Israel or the Jews) and feels 100% justified in blaming them, shaming them, attempting to humiliate them by saying they protect pedophiles and homosexuals. I think this is a clue to the sexual nature of the aggression she can no longer bear to own, and thus must project onto Israel and the Jews.
In addition, her own sense of agency and power, which she once felt, is now not something she can own; if you feel like a victim you lose your sense of agency and power. She projects that sense of power onto Israel and says Israel – or the Jews controls/owns the US.
So all the impulses and feelings she cannot own or bear get projected onto others. Israel now is the “sexual aggressor” (Israel “the size of New Jersey,” (her own words) protects sexual deviants) and has all the power to control the United States.
The father in law of Candace Owen or the man who made the video, clearly labels what she says as not founded in fact, and appears to be a series of circular arguments based upon conjecture not evidence.
But these arguments and her circular reasoning perform an emotional function for her: she needs these arguments to account for her sense of victimhood, and she needs the aggressor to be outside of herself to protect her from having to feel any guilt about her own aggression.
If she didn’t choose Israel and the Jews as her focus, she would likely find some other country or people she can frame as “the aggressor.”
There is a similarity between all those who hate Jews and generalize about the Jews and Israel: those who select Israel and the Jews to hate more than any other country or people generally have a lot of their own feelings they cannot bear and must project onto others. Also they share in common a paucity of evidence to back up their claims. When a group of people is blamed for something on the basis of little or no evidence, it is a clue that the hatred is based upon a need to “solve” an emotional problem.
It is also clear that a new form of Jew hatred, along with a normalization of Jew hatred has developed amongst not just the progressive Left elites, but has entered conservative intellectual elite circles where it had all but vanished. Most of the animus is still on the progressive Left, however, there are online postings from conservatives who see Netanyahu as a member of the powerful globalist elites, who see the Mossad as the most dangerous and evil force, who see a Messianic Jewish Cult of the 3rd Temple as the cause of all Middle East wars, etc.
We are living through a period of great instability in the world. The US is politically chaotic, as is the UK, in Israel there is a war on many fronts. There is the potential for nuclear war emanating from the US using Ukraine as a source of money laundering for the US government and the political elites and a proxy for the attack on Russia. There is China in the background supporting Iran and Hamas. And Iran and Qatar are supporting hateful anti-Israel propaganda and attacks on Jews on campuses across the US.
When the world appears to be going down in flames, the time is ripe to blame the Jews and Israel for everything.
since October 7, last year many people are choosing which side they want to be on. To watch Candace, come unglued is sad. Something must be going terribly wrong in her world. In time it will all come out why she has taken such extreme views.
