Canada vigorously defends free speech

Iranium, a film about Iran as an enemy, was to be shown by Library Archives Canada in Ottawa. The Library cancelled the showing once due to demands by the Iranium Embassy and once due to threats of violence.

The Canadian Government ordered them to show the film and told the Iranian Ambassador in a diplomatic note where to get off.

  1. Wouldn’t it be nice if sites like this, instead of MODERATING what people think and say and feel, but just let people debate, fight and argue and just BE THEMSELVES – unfortunately FREE SPEECH is never backed up because people are afraid of TRUTH.

  2. God Bless Canada and free speech. I’ve seen the film at a preview event and it is an excellent, thought provoking documentary, i.e. a true telling of facts.

Regarding those who have volunteered to exchange Harper for the Obamas. I would never, ever wish such a terrible thing upon my Canadian friends.

  3. Canada isn’t England. Canada has a gov’t led by Steven Harper, arguably Canada’s best PM ever in terms of knowing the difference between right and wrong, diplomacy and appeasement.

Canada, I’ll trade you the Obamas, California, Massachussetts, New york, and I’ll throw in Hawaii for Harper.
